Yeah I'll run out now and get your cd Mick T? Noy gonna happen. You are a great guitar player that's it. You didn't like the Stones then you should have said no to joining them and they would have found somebody as good as you who would be fucking happy to have the honour of playing with these guys. Did YOU come up with Jumpin Jack Flash?
Watching Taylor with Lowell George at the Rainbow Theatre was nearly too much! Particularly when they played A- Apolitical Blues! :) I'm a sucker for the slide and the wah wah too.
I grew up in Los Angeles in the early 1960's. First single was probably Eric Burdon and the Animals "House of the Rising Sun". I saw Rory Gallagher twice at the Whisky A Go Go and Dr John at the Troubadour in the early 70's. You struck a chord with your work in John Mayall's Band and the Stones and with my favourite escapist from Cream, Jack Bruce. I love seeing you join the returning or resurfacing players from that era. Hope to hear more from you. Your silde is as good as it can be.
@lennyharp OH, I'm so jealous. I saw Dylan w/the Band, but I'd give a lot to see Rory and Mick Taylor. You hear a lot re; how Jagger promised Taylor royalties for some songs they wrote when Richards wasn't even in town, like "Sway", yet, like Gallagher, I think his love of music overcame his business sense with the Stones. Taylor is in my top 5 of all guitarists, & still alive, humble, and I wish he'd come to D.C. !! I LOVE his singing. Wish he'd done more before. Great hot slide player too!
the man not only plays a killer guitar (goes without saying) but he does have a great voice, both lead and backing. his backing vocals are distinguishable on goats head soup and its only rock n roll, and I THINK THEY ARE BETTER than keiths backing vocals. check out 100 years ago which features no keith!
Keith does not appear on Goats Head Soup very often. That album is Jagger and Taylor. Funny that it turned out to be one of the biggest selling Stones album to this day! Keith turned into Brian Jones and could not function. Give credit to Jagger for helping him get through that 10 year haze!
I'm sorry but Keith understands the choir-falsetto backing much better than MIck Taylor....
