Dokken Alone Again with John Norum

Norum's guitar tone is not a good fit for Dokken, and he seems to be trying to cover George Lynch's riffs. Why bother? George is himself. Did Norum want to be in a George Lynch tribute band or what? I have a lot more respect for Reb Beach's time in Dokken. He brought his own style. This is weak. Don's voice is trashed. Mick is partied out. Barry can't even be heard...a pale comparison to Jeff Pilson.

Slows down so much from 2:10 - 2:30, Don sounds like shit, this was horrible except for Norum. At least he sounds sober

@unlikeanyotherhuman i believe.some musicians are pretty fucked up.John Norum is a great guy and musician and George Lynch too.Don Dokken is hard to take very selfish and ego guy.his voice was good when he was younger and didnt smoke so much.NOW he sounds aweful not worth the money paying for the Concert.

I saw Dokken open for the Scorpions on the Scorps farewell tour last year. Disappointing. Don's voice is HORRENDOUS. And he kept talking about how, in this mind, its still 1987. Wow

I know I'm gonna get a lot of hate comments for this but I HAVE to say it. John Norum SMOKES George Lynch and Jeff Pilson is so far inferior to Barry Sparks it's like comparing a Ferrari to a Camaro. Don's voice sounds AWFUL in this clip, and for some bizaare reason, Mick and Don are playing this so slow it's almost sounds like a bad Dokken Cover Band. Jesus! This rendition is an absolute trainwreck!

@borntorun1970 actually i totally agree with you buddy.. i 've listened carefully to all of norum's work over the years.. and it's true the guy is really a great rock guitar player . for sure super underrated. and you re right.. don sounds like crap here..
