Assalamu alaikoum brother Mohamad! Long time no see! I am so happy to find all those videos from you masha'Allah! I still have that tape with du'a you gave me and saved them as MP3s, your Arabic is so clear to understand masha'Allah. Just here I was wondering why you pronounce the JIM as Djim ??? I was always told that there is no D in front of Jim... I am a bit confused. Could you please explain why it is this way? I know for example we say "dajjaj" for chicken, not daDjaDj... correct?
@noureleyn, thank you for the kind message, Imam Mohamad Jebara sends his salaam and greetings to you noureleyn! Regarding your question, the Jim is pronounced as "Djim" due to the characteristic of Ash-Shiddah; the trapping of sound during pronunciation. It is pronounced similar to the "dj" sound "Djibouti". I Hope that clarifies. If you have further questions, please feel free to contact us. Please note, this page is run and monitored by students of Imam Mohamad Jebara - Cordova Academy Team -

That is a new approach to learning the Arabic alphabet. It is interesting that he is reading them is a different arrangement than what is normally used. I think it is ingenious! Well done!
