I'm pretty, sure if you do your research, you will find the film "The Illusionist" used a classic "Orange Tree Automata" as shown here, not CG, onley they embelished the trick a little.
I read a piece about it and it seems that they did indeed use a "real" mechanical orange-tree for a portion of the scene but most of it IS CG (the beginning of the illusion in particular)

The museum is part of the House of Magic in Blois (France), birthplace of Robert-Houdin.
It is opposite the Chateau and both are worth a visit !

It is obvious that it couldn't be an automata, when he removes the orange it is being extracted from a real plant.
