    Your right. There is a commonality between the two. I guess you would say that using satire to addresses serious matters of religious, philosophical, political, or scientific importance is what both Jon Stewart and Voltaire have done.

    However Voltaire wanted to be taken seriously and Jon Stewart can't be taken seriously.

  • Stewart is always great with Letterman. The two of them actually go way back, Letterman helped Jon alot in his early career when he was still with CBS. You can kinda see it in the interviews Jon is very respectful of Letterman hahah

  • i dont know how they can make themselves laugh all these years and not go crazy... letterman has a perfect fake laugh but stewarts is a little outrages. some of it is actually funny but the best is watching johnny carson's real uncontrollable laughter

  • I haven't got the time to follow up on a mere FUN show. I just do not like disparaging remarks, especially crude, foul four letter words - that seems to be the only way certain people can express themselves.

    Those people lower any debate or discussion and it is a pity that Google provides a forum for any simpleton to display his limited and disgusting language without any restraint or taste.
