  • Hi Jon,

That really is a tremendous bit of playing and has just inspired me

to keep on playing... would you consider publishing the tablature to

    cool your jets?

  • What can one say? It's got the 3 R's. It Rocks, Rips and Rules!

  • is this john hartfords son?

  • Great song.

  • very cool very cool

  • do you think it's better to use an electric banjo like this instead of an electric guitar for a blues-country-folk band sounding like beck's golden feelings? please, reply! :)

  • @wasabihansen

If you ARE a banjo player then yes it would be better to use a banjo wherever needed.

But if you play guitar- then of course you are adding what is best needed for the music you are playing.

  • @wasabihansen

It would really depend on the "textures" of sound that you are after.

Electric Guitar ALWAYS has a place in music

Banjo can sometimes ADD if electrified as well.

It's all about what "supports" the music the band plays. : )

  • ive seen a lot of things, i hope i dont see that again. wierd.

  • That was fantastic!!

  • hey im looking to get into playing banjo. if you wouldnt mind could you tell me what to look for as far as a banjo i can hook up to an amp to eventually play music like yours? :D thanks in advanced!

  • do u need to have fingerpicks to play Electric banjo?

  • @mattiasskroder Hey Matt! Though it helps to play with fingerpicks- there have been many times I play the electric banjo without them on. Picks do provide the accurate string hit and volume in dynamics when playing.

    Hope this helps...

    Banjoistically yours,

    Jon Eric

  • @JonEricMusic thanks for answering :) I just ordered a Acoustic Banjo and fingerpicks I'm looking forward to play :D

  • ill headbang to that

  • @1115345 xD Its my new jam 8D

  • That was awesome....

  • what type of amp are you playing through?

  • @banjobowling

I am playing through a CRATE 120 DG Acoustic Amp in this video. : )

  • is he in the yacht club?

  • @ak0087

shot this video at home- Hope to play there soon though. : )

  • pick it son!

  • Very nice.

  • epicst of the epicst !

  • you're good, electric bluegrass, no thanks, try something new!

  • That's incontrovertibly RAD

  • OUTSTANDING

  • whats the difference between that and an Electric guitar?

  • the banjo part I guess. 5 strings... etc.

  • 1 less string, a drum skin and the 5th string tuner being at the 5th fret.

  • Can you get pedals?

  • most likely you could use guitar pedals, if the impedance is the same...

  • Haha I'm from Gowrie Iowa =). How're the beans growing? ;)

  • Awesome playing man! Really good stuff!

  • you are super-humanly fast

  • people like you are a gift for this world

  • amazing!!!!

  • I'm not so into the electric banjo but the tune is really awesome--those little chord changes at the end are real cool.

  • Wow this is a cool sounding instrument! My friend LePort who plays banjo for the Rarely Herd told me about these. Great job picking it too btw! :)

  • Woohoo bluegrass rockin! :)

  • WOW!

  • Nice tune, i love the sound of that banjo...

  • awesome song jon! woo hooooooo!

  • sweet.

  • I didn't know nechville banjo's could sound that metal like, such as an older acoustic banjo.

  • Hi Jon ... Stop trying to make that axe sound like a banjo ... your Stelling does that admirably ... I've posted a video response to explain what I mean :-)

    Cheers,

    Boog

  • That is beautiful man.

  • Mighty nice Jon! I want one!!!! :-)

    Cheers,

    Boog

  • simply amazing!

  • Your shit is hot

  • Si gruoss' !!!

  • that was awesome! what type is that? it dosnt have the 5th peg, but its not a 6 string...

  • It actually is a Nechville Meteor electric 5 string banjo with a neck design called Neuvo that expands the length of the neck. I had RR spikes installed for ease of changing keys during shows. Hope this helps...

    ~JE

  • Great playing, great idea (the nuvo). May I ask how you tuned the strings? Thx ahead. Richard

  • @mactheneck

Just like a normal 5- string banjo in G Tuning.

    5-g 4-D 3-G 2-B 1-d

  • @JonEricMusic Great tune! Is that the EMG-81 pickup?

  • @banjorol

    Yes it is : )
