Has anyone tried to work out how Madoff could have spent the money he allegedly stole . I have seen the figure of $65bn but does this include cash repaid in the "good" times ? If the net amount was say $20bn , then over 40 years he must have been spending $0.5bn per year , assuming that no cash remains . Not even Saudi princes with oil money can match that dedication to extravagance . Where did it all go or where is now ?
