i dont think he is underrated at all. he listened to music out at the time and essentially rearranged it. slightly tweaking parts of other artists stuff.. not that other artists dont do this too.

Yuzo is probably underrated. The only people who appreciate his work are the people who know of him. People who don't even know Nobuo Uematsu are in love with his music, and that makes Nobuo over-rated. You play something by Yuzo and they'll be like "oh, that sounds cool, but 'x' song is cooler"

@niceprince Actually all his compositions are original, and many of them are very complicated - something that only someone with an in-depth knowledge of musical theory and technical ability can comprehend. Just listen to The Story Of Thor's music and try to fathom it! Not only that, but he created music using self-made algorithmic generators that yeilded unparalelled results.

Everytime l inserted a megadrive cartridge and see his name at the title screen of a game, l just know that the music im about to hear is gonna stay with me forever.

No. He was saying how most racing games have 'dance' or 'techno' style music, and he preferred to be inspired by stuff more like Outrun. He felt it was challenge to break away from the current vogue. :)

hahaha good response, no its just when I was in HS I was extremely skinny and it was hard to gain a pound. Trying to gain weight or muscle/power was an journey especially for being a male. I listened to alot of Yuzo and others to keep my spirits up while working out, eventually I gained 50 lbs and learned how to do powermoves(breakdance) which helped me meet my gf etc, so I would say SOR music keep me going for a while

streets of rage 2 has to be his best musically, but super adventure island and actraiser on the snes showed what he could do with high quality sound - makes you wish streets of rage had been on the snes....

The Mega Drive is actually better at techno than the SNES, while the SNES is superior at orchestral stuff. So Streets of Rage and Actraiser were perfectly fine on their respective consoles.
