Also in oblivion you can actually find your way around the city and there's not many glitches in quests. I always get lost in some of the skyrim city's and sometimes during a quest it would say to talk to someone but when I did they're was no subject on the quest and I'd be like WTF?!?! and I'd never be able to get the quest done.

I definitely know why bethesda took out the oblivion level up system and made it new but it was a little bit better than skyrims (except for perk system whihc is freaking awesome) if you ask me. i could not wait to level up my acrobat level to jump that much higher and go on buildings. They should add that back in the new one, whenever the hell it will come out

I've never played an Elder Scrolls game but I'm a big fan of openworld and RPG games so surely I'm looking to play one of these two. Everyone is saying that Skyrim is better than Oblivion, but it seems that the graphics is the only difference. I've played Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas and frankly New Vegas sucks so I'm not looking for new game but rather a good game with no bugs or at least few bugs. Can anyone let me know which Elder Scrolls is better? I'm a PS3 gamer by the way

The detail in Skyrim, for an open worlder is quite remarkable. I have a powerful rig because graphics are the biggest part of gaming for me and I have to say even after the likes of crysis/crysis 2, Arkham city, BF3 on ultra there are still places in this game that take my breath away!

To my opinion, the gameplay in skyrim is better, it is like a heavely gameplay modded oblivion that works smoother (for example the dual wielding) But to be honest, the thing that made oblivion awsome was it questlines, for example the end quest for the thieves guild was just fun to do. In Skyrim the questlines are in comparison very short and less overthought for my feeling.

As for game play, Skyrim's world seems to be bigger than Oblivion. I like menu system in Skyrim better. It's faster and easier to select your items and spells. I also love the skills screen in Skyrim. I have to get farther in Skyrim before I can really compare the two games though. But I love both of them.

It's hard to say which one I liked better. Skyrim has dragons. Oblivion has Oblivion. I haven't gotten vary far in Skyrim yet but there are a couple things about it that I don't like as much as Oblivion. The biggest complaint I have is that the text is way to small in Skyrim whereas Oblivion, I could actually read everything. I have the 360 version by the way. Oblivion was way more choppy and it froze a lot. Skyrim will freeze for a minute and then be fine again. Much less buggy.

@Tswagbro I dont understand what planet you people are from. Skyrim does not even use advanced shading techniques on the water ! Oblivion graphics are at least TWO times higher quality than Skyrim ! They are not even in the same league. Sure Skyrim may have a ton of content. But so did Oblivion. Skyrim graphics are all hype. The textures are simply not near as high of quality as Oblivion. The graphics in Skyrim are almost POOR in quality ! Don't buy Skyrim if you are looking for MODERN graphics.

Oblivion was (and still is) one of the best games of all time. Skyrim is an amazing game, with a large amount of thought put into it. For me oblivion wins. Oblivion was a game with a big and beautiful map. There were many palces do discover and discovering was fun because every place is unique/diffrent and there are many surprises. Skyrims map is piece of shit. Everywhere is the same. Same mountains with rocks and green grass, citys with the same material(everywhere stone with the same color shape) citys look boring, entire map looks boring, the dungeons etc. are exact the same. There are few types of places with different fun

Just started Skyrim,graphics aren't that big deal to me(played wow some time so both Obl & Sky look amazing in graphical terms compared to it XD).But to say currently Oblivion looks better on my PC because I maxed out everything,got bunch of tweaks and mods etc and runs with no lag.I had to reduce bunch of details in Skyrim to have decent FPS.I'm interested in storyline and gameplay.Damn I wish WoW was more like Elder Scrolls.For me that game died back in march 2009

Oblivion has the big advantage that its released long enough to have many hd texture packs (and other mods) and so the possibility to look really nice. Skyrim just got one for whiterun..wow..

@Valnuss still skyrim has got top-class graphics, not as good as crysis, but they are so realistic with everything turned on inculding AA and high res. I had opportunity to play it at max and 1600x900 res with AA full. AWESOME GRAPHICS, so real + awesome gameplay = epic win :)
