  • Oh Nash...I wish you were with us when we won the NBA Championship. I hope you will win one before you retire!

  • jason kidd is better than nash ! based on assist turn over ratio!! and kidd has also better defends with nash!! from kevin durant to westbrok to kobe an then wade and james how can a pointguard can do that!! kidd is 2nd in steals of nba at all tym behind with stockton!!

  • Nash could get Nowitzki open jumpers all day.

  • steve nash was on the mavs y was he traded?

  • @vidmam155

wasn't traded...signed with phoenix, cuban didn't want to spend what phoenix was offering and they had just drafted devin harris

  • so cool seeing nash pass to dirk....

  • lol lord the young people these days just dont know basketball reseach people

  • people who didnt know nash played for the mavs must be newbie mavs fans.

  • my player in NBA 2K12 is 7ft tall and he hit 16 three pointers in a game

  • How do some of you kids not know Steve Nash played for Dallas, but yet watch a Dirk video on Youtube? FYI, that guy Dirk's best friend is the guy you guys didn't know played for dallas.

  • Like half of those were Nash assists haha

  • I never Steve Nash played for Dallas? Didn't see that coming~

  • How did dallas not win the finals with Dirk and Nash that year? :o

  • @99bullshart99 because Dirk was soft back then and didnt have an inside game like he has now, and nash didnt have the 3 shot he has now...and the supporting cast wasnt as good as it is now

  • STEVE NASH? - 1:05

  • WHEN THE HELL DID NASH PLAY FOR DALLAS!?

  • @TroubleinParadise000 thats what i thought!!

  • @MrRilsmellmyfarts

    newbie

  • DIRK STRIKES AGAIN!!!

  • how many 3's does dirk have to make to have them start guarding him. lol

not gonna lie i like OKC but i would've been cool to keep it in seattle :p

  • wow - most 7 footers not even hit 8 threes in there entire career

  • Dirk Nomisski

  • he finally had a contested hot on the last one.

Modern NBA where no defense happens

  • wow this team was awesome i wish nash stayed and they kept dirk they would have more then 1 ring. Dirk is the fucking man

  • OMG NASH!

  • I think Dirk's role in the team changed in comparison to those days. The Mavs have a bunch of players who can hit from 3 point range, just look at this years playoffs. So they need Dirk to hit from midrange and force the double, which creates more space for their shooters, sorry bad English. He just uses the 3-point shot to influence the flow of the game, if they trail by a lot, because it's much more frustrating for the opponent and more motivating for the own team.

  • how old is this ?

  • Seattle sports team makes highlight reel for the other teams

  • i miss the nash, dirk, finley days.

  • Prettiest jumper in the nba effortless stroke, from a 7 footer none the less

  • a couple years later no one has still been able to stop all those points from dirk

  • I've seen a lot of legendary conference final performances before and I never saw someone score 48 points on 15 shots, not even Jordan. Not only was Dirk extraordinarily efficient, he was doing it while hitting an array of fade away jumpers over a good defender in Ibaka. Everyone else in the league would have needed 25-30 shots to get 48 points... not Dirk. Easily the MVP and best player of the playoffs... there's nothing anyone can do to stop him form scoring.

  • wow, nash, dirk, finley. beast

  • the only person that disliked this was steve nash because he's pissed he's not playing with DAS HAMMER anymore.

  • Comment removed

  • Dirty Dirk. The best unappreciated player in the game.

  • lol this is why the sonics had to move out of seattle xD

  • nice

  • last three was jus WOW!

  • Your logic is fine, but it also assumes that none of those 2-point attempts end in an and-one ft (old-fashioned 3-pt play), nor does it take into account attempts that end in 2 ft's (thought those aren't officially accounted as fg attempts). 3-pointers also result in the occasional and 1 4-pt play, or 3 ft's, but that is far more rare than an and-1 on 2 pt, or the 2 ft's from attacking the rim and getting fouled. NBA players are good about following the rule "never foul a jump shooter",

  • I could watch this a million times. Love how the last three just renders the guy into disbelieving laughter.

  • i wish steve nash was still in the mavericks. him switchin to suns was probably the worst decision of his career.

  • Dirk is dangerous...along with Nash and Terry in the backcourt the Mavs had a squad

  • I miss the Sonics.

  • 2:42 santa claus

  • Dirk is NOT one dimensional.... he can shoot from anywhere, he can post-up, he can drive, he's among the best in getting to the FT line, he's been a top 15 scorer in the last 10 years (over 21,000 points and counting), he's among the best passing big-men in the last 10 years, he's been a top 10 in defensive rebounds in the last 10 years, he's made numerous clutch plays and game-winners, and plays good defense. He's done pretty much everything (except NBA title), to secure a place in the HOF.

  • A 3pt shot is not a low-percentage shot if you take into account that it counts 1,5 times as much as a 2 pointer.

Over his career, Dirk shoots almost 50% on 2s (substract 3p from his fg) and 38% on 3s, but those 38% equate 57% on 2s (simple example: 2/5 on 3s is as good as 3/5 on 2s).

So I'm definately in favor of the idea that he reactivates his 3p shot (just as he has done recently with 7 of 10 over the last 3 games -- 21 pts on 10 shots is something two pointers can't do for you).

  • @stuckonautomatic It's still a low percentage shot. It's just worth more points. But Dirk rarely gets good looks from the arc any more because he earned his respect. They just need to give it to him high post and let him do work.

  • @stuckonautomatic i love your math

  • @stuckonautomatic interesting point, but remember he misses more 3s than he misses 2s, which means more potential for opponents to pull away or come back if he goes for too many 3s. E.g. if he hits a 2, (which he is more likely to do), then the worst case scenario is that the opponent will then score a 3 the following play meaning they'll be 3-2 behind for the last 2 plays. But if he misses a 3, which he is more likely to do, then worst case scenario is they go 3-0 behind on the last 2 plays.

  • @stuckonautomatic nash should go back to mavericks.

  • @stuckonautomatic if you are good enough shooter, 3's are not a bad shot to take.

  • @pispiringos98 Super Sonics? The team that moved to Oklahoma to what you now know as the Thunder?

  • @nextbestrockstar allen's career fg% is .450. durant's fg% is .459. dirk's fg% is .473. now who is the best shooter?

  • @kuyaoyster hes right! nowitski is and will always be the best shooting big man in nba history name another 7 footer with 1200 career 3's while shooting it an extremely efficient 38% thats unheard of my friend!

  • hes really a shooting guard

  • 2nd best shooter after ray allen.

  • i like how almost all of the threes were nashs assists

  • i wonder how many assists nash got that game after all those assists to dirk

  • Dirk and Steve :)

  • nowitzki is like a shooting guard in a center's body. his talent is so rare

  • that comment about larry bird was very dumb

  • @b45100 how? Dirk can shoot better than larry bird.

  • @halobeast411 okay my friend let us compare the two. FG Pct -- Bird wins, .496 to .472, larry has a respectable lead in this category, 3-pt pct -- Nowitzki barely wins, .378 to .376 but no big difference. FT pct. -- Bird, leading by a small amount, .88 to .872. One out of 100 free throws that Bird makes, Dirk misses. And last but not east Bird has more rings than Dirk and he is not afraid to take a game winning shot.

  • That's hott , very hot :D

  • why doesnt he shoot threes anymore?

  • @YawningBoy percentages say that he makes more shots inside so take a high percentage shot ..........

  • @disassterus i think it's cause his team needed more inside shots and dirk is the perfect guy to do it. A team wouldn't be efficient if they only shot three's or just two's

  • @YawningBoy ever heard the term high percentage shot ...... a three point is always a low percentage shot ... the closer the better get it got it good

  • @disassterus thats true but when you get closer to the basket and you have the ball the harder the other team guards you so the percentage would go down a little more

  • @MyXdChiick TRUE ........ MARRY ME PLEASE

  • would like to see dallas with another pf and dirk as sg - nice mismatch:D

  • Dirk is playing much closer to the basket now, and I think it is very much on purpose. He could be the league's best shooter (even from deep) and he only takes about one 3 pt shoot per game this year.

He is just so effective in so many ways, but i do believe he's at his best at PF. He is probably had the best mid range and high post skills in the game, and maybe ever!

  • @selmanadzovic yeah i hope the mavs keep dirk though and build around him he's the key why they make it to playoffs every year he just needs more better players

  • @selmanadzovic I think his high post fadeaway is a beauty.

  • that's a terrible idea.

  • that was the time sonics still exisit -.-

  • DIRK NOWITZKI is the only 7 footer to play the CENTER, POWER FORWARD, SMALL FORWARD & THE SHOOTIN' GUARD position in the NBA. His handle is crazy sick for a 7 footer. DIRK NOWITZKI IS MY FAVORITE PLAYER, DALLAS MAVERICKS ARE MY FAVORITE TEAM & I'm not even white I'm hispanic hahahahaha.

  • best foreign NBA players :

    1. nowizki

    2.nash

    3.gasol

    4.ginobili

    5.yao ming

  • what about parker? I mean, I cant stand him but I think he is better then yao or ginobili (eventhough u cant compare em)

  • shawn bradley!!

  • Dirk strikes again !!!! HOHOHOH ..NICE.

  • he is the 3rd best nba giant legend ever behind wilt and kareem

  • dirk plays like a shooting guard or small forword

    change his pistion

  • steve nash?

  • he was on the mavericks for a little while...

  • You are watching what GREATNESS is all about!!!

  • nc1!!!!!!

  • I miss steve nash:( glad Jason Kidd is back though

  • def would have had a championship a few years back with nash.

    ima spurs fan but

    dirk

    harris

    nash

    terry

    j howard

    diop

    is pretty beast.

idk if they would have been able to keep all that together though

  • i think the team theyve got now is uber beast. that team back then would have been beast if they had marion and butler and kidd and dampier

  • anyone know if nowitzki will play eurobasket 2009?

  • no he wont becuz mark cuban says no

  • but he have played in the national team in 11 years now. so why will not the director want nowitzki to play?

  • becuz cuban wants dirk to be healthy this year since they got marion, gooden, and thomas so the mavs are now contenders again!

heres wat dirk said about this:

"I'm not mad at Cubes at all," Nowitzki said in a phone interview. "He's been great to me these last 10, 11 years. He always let me chase my dream. And we always agreed that if I made the Olympics, it would be [time] to take a break.

  • ohh oki that sucks:/

    Thanx for the answer:)

  • WTF! DIRK IS unbelivable!

  • Wow, the Sonics weren't even trying.

  • the sonics never try haha :p

  • Comment removed

  • funny how the Sonics still left him open.

Dirk doesn't take as many threes as he used to. he should.

  • ANOTHA TRIFECTA!!!!!!

  • Shawn Bradley... lol good old times

  • Dirk is sooo CLUTCH!!!

    He's my favorite!!!!

  • holy shit 7 footers shouldnt be doing that

  • What if they're MVP? Dirk has been MVP of NBA.

  • MR. SWISH!!!

One of the BEST ever in NBA history.

  • thats cause dallas used to have a run and gun, offense prone team. Now they are more well balanced.

  • Dirk is insane.

I wish he hadn't stopped shooting 3's. He shoots about 1 a game nowadays...and not nearly as well as he used to.

  • DIRK IS A SAVAGE

    GO MAVS FO REAL

  • this guy is a center too

  • He's a power forward, not a center

  • yup. although he often is the "center" this season if Damp or Hollins is not in.

  • dumb fuck.... hes a pf

  • lol wtf it was when nash was in dallas ? loll

  • NASH WAS N DALLAS FO A WHILE DAWG

  • lol i meant that this video is old .. chill :|

  • the eagle in the sky! the marksman. sharp shooter. boy can light it up at any moment. and his shot is behind his head and he is 6'11 i think. not going to block that shot unless u are hugging him.

  • WHAT A HAND!!!!!

  • i would have dirk shoot 3s all game every game....

just give him a couple of screen and shoot plays and its all good

  • i wish avery johnson didn't take the three out of his arsenal.

  • ANOTHA TRIFECTA!!!!!!

  • Larry bird reincarnation...

  • dirk is better than larry bird

  • GET THE FUCK OUT

  • lol im just saying the truth

  • Dirk is NOT better than Larry Bird! Dirk is my all-time favorite player. I've been following him since he was drafted to the bucks. The only thing Dirk could do better is the ability to get to the basket. Larry did have more help around him to get to championships, i will admit.

  • dirk is beast.

  • the fuckin night rider

  • haha why do americans think we germans like or have anything to do with this gay night rider guy. We never liked it, never watched it, dirk never liked him. He just uses this lie to stay popular

  • what's night rider?

  • im german. and yes i agree

  • he never got guarded..

  • why the hell wss he so free?

  • dirk for 3s

  • Best shooter in the world!...he needs to find a way to take more three's and take advantage of his shooting greatness

  • @nowitzki41icon

the best shooter is ray allen. if you're talking about size + shooting ability, then kevin durant is the best.

  • lol shawn bradley

  • Dirk's best 3 point shooting game ever. Shame it happened in Seattle, a place where the NBA does not exist anymore. For the meantime at least. This was also one of his best scoring performances ever.

  • lol the good old days when Matt Pinto did the play by play

  • LOL yes matt pinto. "CHUK CHING THE MAVERICK MONEY BALL!"

  • por algo es mi idolo

  • dirk is amazing.

  • Did they win that game?

  • Yes, dallas won by 2 (118-116)

  • lights out

  • Your just a playa hata cuz pau and marc owned dirk in the olympics. But dont get me wrong, dirk is cool, i like him to-he's on my list. but pau is just a gentle giant with plenty skill. if you think about it, kobe and pau are like jason kid and dirk

  • geh mir nicht auf die Eier du Spinner

  • wow compare the spanish team with the german... spain has plenty nba players, we only have 2...

  • i obviously now that, but you (Germany) were in the olympics. In order to be in the olympics, a country's team must qualify. If the team was able to qualify with only two nba stars, then they should have been able to be successful in the olymics. I understand that there is a difference between qualifiers and olympic play. However, Germany playe against most of the same countries from the qualifiers in the olympics.

  • i think germanywould have made it to the quarter finals. But did u see the last minutes of the game against china? the refs whistled almost everything against germany. and btw: i think that dirk is better than pau (no doubt that pau is a good player, but dirk is a fromer nba-mvp, gasol wasnt even near to that title)

  • first of all, the refs were being irrational for all countries excluding China. so either way ever country got cheated. Second of all, although Pau was never MVP, he was never a leader. Dirk is a leader. Second, Pau thinks of the other players and trys to create plays that benefit both him and his teamates. And actualy, Pau was an MVP in Fiba Play. And he was closer to the title than dirk was.

  • i think dirk won the MVP in the world championship 2002 (i think it was that year) and at least a couple of times in the european championship. and pau is a good player and he was the leader of the memphis team. but i think dirk is dooing a better job :-)

  • well if you are looking about leadership, you should consider Dirk's team and Pau's Team. obviously, Dirk is the leader of his team because he and Jason Kidd are the real stars of that team. for the Lakers however, they have Kobe Bryant, who by himself is a great leader. with that being said, any tandom he creates- weather it be with a point guard, foward, or center can make them look good. The Lakers play as a team.

  • I personally have nothing against the Mavericks, in fact I think they should not have been eliminated from the play-offs. But I prefer the Lakers and their playing abilities. I also have nothing against Dirk. I think he is a great player because of his ability to shoot 3s and "work down low." But one thing is true, Dirk is getting old, he's payed his dues quite well, but he is getting old. Pau too is aging but is still quite young.

  • 8/9 from the 3point line. Hammer :)

  • nash,finley,walker,and nowitzki.all on the same team

    ah memories...

    i miss those days :)

  • don't forget jamison

  • mcshithead(hehe)....soooooooooo true....

  • DONT FORGET HOWARD

  • Man, the Sonics almost look like they're letting him make em, some defense! Dirk's so good...

  • The one thing I love about this is the lack of defense on Seattle's part. After the second or third three, you might want to get get up on him just a little bit more.

  • totally true, but the last one was like "come on foul me, i ´ll score either way" ... soooo good ... dirk is the best

  • no thats how the NBA defense works, its amazing how it is. The more they make, the more they leave him open, its the NBA unspoken rule.

  • haha i remember this game. As unbelievable Dirks shooting stroke was this game the mavs needed Anotine fn walker to win the game at the buzzer :)

  • Wow - was then when the Sonics were actually.. good? They keep on hanging around...

I think he should of gone for ten threes. =D

  • Dirk is so good at 3s
