  • 2 minutes to midnight

  • @sicfuker25 This song is older

  • still lovin it after 30 years or so!!!!!!

  • this sounds like maiden and raven song hehehe weird :P

  • I was in senior in high school in 1983 when I borrowed this album from a friend of mine who was going or had gone to a more urban school than the one I attended. I recorded this song to a cassette player and my friends would jam to it on our way to and from high school. This song evinces such incredible energy and my favorite part of this song is when the rhythm guitar plays the inimitable riff at 2:33. Deutschland music, yah, pre-Rammstein Deutshchland metal.

  • any tabs for this song???

  • I heard this track broadcast on Radio 1 (BBC) WAAAAAY back in1980 or something ; it was recorded in Cologne ,Germany and a little different to the album track. It was really Heavy, and Udo still had the world at his feet .....wot happened ?

  • Breaker, Restless & Wild, and Balls to the Wall are 3 very great metal albums.

    D~

  • Nicely stolen from Iron Maiden.

  • @DanSmithxD Too bad this album came out two years before Powerslave.

  • @DanSmithxD actually iron maiden coppyed from accept, than helloween coppied from maiden in the song phantoms of death, others say that all stole this from venom's welcome to hell or mercyful fate's curse of the pharaos

  • @DanSmithxD This song is from the album Resless and Wild, 1982. 2 Minutes to Midnight, Powerslave, 1984. 1982 is before 1984, you know?

  • Iron Maiden is my all time favorite but just because Accept uses the same riff doesn't mean there stealing it. They are just showing how Iron Maiden was influential to them and they did an amazing job.

  • @FinalFrontier321 idiot, two minutes to midnight came out in 1984, this came out in 1982!

  • @albi169 Sorry for not knowing that. I just know that two minutes to midnight was an early 80s song so I thought it was first. I just recently just heard about this band so I don't know anything about them except they have a cool singer. Besides that... riffs are riffs and its how a band uses them in their own music that makes them unique.

  • @FinalFrontier321 Sorry dude, but this was first. Not trying to start an argument or anything, I love both bands too but Two Minutes To Midnight was released in '84. This was written probably in '81 or '82. And actually, Venom was probably the first to use this riff in '81 with Welcome to Hell.

  • @FinalFrontier321 It's the other way around.

  • 2222222 MINUTEEEES TO MIIIIIIIDNIGHTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • This song was released in 1982, and 2 Minutes To Midnight in 1984. Before say this is a copy of a Maiden song investigates.

  • @TioFule

    And In 1981

    Band: Riot

    Album: Fire Down Under

    Song/Riff: Swords and Tequila

The fact is this was a Riot rift and it inspired many many bands...Check out the video on here "The most ripped off heavy metal riff"

  • @MegaSeth91 Yep, you have reason, this riff was created by Riot, I was wrong. Thanks for informing me.

To Iron Maiden fanboys: Stop saying this is a song of Maiden you posers, investigate before say something. If you are a real metalheads then stop thinking Iron Maiden is the best band and the others bands copied them.

  • @TioFule Yeah I'm a true Metalhead, now Iron Maiden is a great band, but damn people just conform and go with the crowd without thinking for themselves...Well I rather talk to a guy who's all about Iron Maiden than this Nu Metal/Grindcore/Hardcore/Metalcore/Screamo/and "New Crap Music"..I mean what's the next Sub-Genre of watered down dumbed down music..."Oh Brah listen to EpicMetal and Fagcore brah you don't know what your missing" Oh yeah man I'm missing nothing I haven't already heard before.

  • @MegaSeth91 And that's how the conversation is going to go within 4 to 5 years.

  • @MegaSeth91 Its true, Iron Maiden is a good Metal band, but most people who hear Maiden are just kids who listen Nu Metal, MetalCore, and all that shit and they only listen Maiden because is one of the most known Metal bands, the same with Metallica. They think they are true Metalheads, but if you ask them about bands like Accept or Saxon they cant answer you because they dont know about real Metal. I hope Metal has no more Sub-Genres like Nu Metal shit.

PD: Sorry for my english, I'm spanish.

  • @TioFule Yeah they have no idea of bands that I talk about..And that's sad I'm within this BS Generation I'm almost 20 years old. Kids today do not know what true rock and metal are..These kids don't know Diamond Head, Angel Witch, Storm Witch, Helloween...And most of them heard of Led Zeppelin but never listen to them..I'll let them listen to Immigrant Song, Stairway To Heaven, Black Dog..And they'll say something like "Yeah I've heard this somewhere..But I can't remember who it is."

  • @MegaSeth91 I'm 15 years old but I'm different from others who have the same age as me. Most of the others teenagers say they know about Metal, but they only listen to the bands best known like Metallica, Iron Maiden, Anthrax, Black Sabbath and Nu Metal. They think the most known bands are the betters bands in Metal, but that isn't true. Bands like Accept, Helloween, Running Wild and others are way better than Metallic or Maiden. They don't know about the real good music.

  • @TioFule Well man you keep it real..And keep it rocking

  • @TioFule And as for nu-metal, if you look at the history of metal and rock more deeply, you'll realise that nu-metal isn't actually a subgenre of metal at all for the most part; it's just souped-up hard rock with downtuned guitars, turntables, angsty lyrics and rapping. This isn't elitism, it's because metal is about a state of mind and being - it's not just about being heavy. There's a certain something that markes metal apart from other genres of rock. Nu-metal doesn't have this.

  • @NationalOrder

Nu, Black, -Core, Post-, Groove, Industrial are not part of Heavy Metal music.

They are not Heavy at all, just downtuned Br00tal c-rap.

  • @WishmasterTheDark I said as much about core, but not because it's "hate-worthy" because some kids who seem to be posers like the music...why should that matter? No, it's because the music is simply rock as opposed to metal. And Black Metal and ALL Groove and Industrial Metal not part of heavy metal? Fear Factory not part of heavy metal even though their first album is regarded widely as a DEATH METAL classic? Pantera, like them or not, not metal because...well, why?

  • @NationalOrder

    You'll never understand...

  • @WishmasterTheDark Oh, I see. I'll never understand because I don't "feel the metal" or some bullshit like that. Seriously dude, do you really believe that kind of stuff? It's ok, you do what you will, if you feel that "true" metal (which doesn't exist, because music is music) is the only way, and I'll listen to whatever the hell I like and enjoy it. It really doesn't matter dude. However everyone has to learn to accept and tolerate differences of opinion. That's all I'm saying.

  • @NationalOrder

    Shut the fuck up poser

  • @WishmasterTheDark Ok, you asked for this (after reading that comment I hope for your own sake that you are no older than 15). I reach out to you with a positive message about tolerance and acceptance and all you can say is "shut the fuck up poser?" Really dude? Are you so insecure about your own self-identity that you feel a need to ape people on the net whose lives are so shallow that they have nothing better to do than brag about their own supposed metalness? Seriously? How old are you?

  • @NationalOrder

    You're boring. get a life...

  • @WishmasterTheDark Eloquence is clearly wasted on you then. And people wonder why teenagers are so easily stereotyped nowadays be they chavs, metalheads, goths, rockers, or just kids living in their parents' basements who troll on the net because they don't even try to face the real world. I honestly pity you. Really, I do.

  • @WishmasterTheDark If you are still very young I pray that you'll grow up, because if you try and pull that shit on anyone in the real world you'll be lucky to escape with your own little world intact. The only reason I'm not just completely ignoring you is because I've been there. I know what it's like to be a teenager and feel that the whole world is against you, and that music is your only escape. Things change.

If you are actually over 21, though, then I feel sorry for you.

  • @NationalOrder

yeah, you have no life... poor kid...

  • @WishmasterTheDark I could so easily say the same about you, calling a total stranger a "poser" (which is a meaningless term btw). Except I'm in my twenties. You're just a little 15 year old who believes in some being in the sky. Whatever, I'm through with you. I tried my best, but you're clearly either a troll or an idiot. Peace. I'll be praying for you.

  • @TioFule Finally, I admire your dedication, but remember this: Even if you hate nu-metal, metalcore and the like, that doesn't mean people who like them are necessarily worthless morons who know nothing about music. They might not understand about metal, but they're young. Also, be careful to remember that Accept, Helloween etc are not universally 'better' than Maiden or Metallica - you find that they are, but it's all opinion. I'm not trying to be critical, only giving some advice.

  • @TioFule Well, certainly I wouldn't say it's true that a huge number of people (as in, Maiden fans) who listen to Maiden are mostly kids who don't know the original classic metal bands. Maiden has fans of all ages - do you think the 40+ people who love them don't know anything about metal? It's true, there are a lot of kids who listen to the big popular classic bands and the big popular modern bands and not much else, but it all varies. Everyone's unique. Just sayin'.

  • Freakin epic song!!!! \m/

  • flash rockin' maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan

  • Saxon, Accept:: much better than Iron. Have you not realized it yet?!

  • @beserk27 Yeah!

  • yeeaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh.....

  • this song sounds more like lady of the nigh by high tension, another 80s german metal band

  • Both Song's are the same date by years 1984, Real :D

Great Fucking Song, Sorry for violence i can't stop myself when i'm listen to ACCEPT :)

  • Two minutes to rockin tequila XD sounds to heavy hahaha

  • INTRO REMINDS ME OF MAIDEN

  • yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh oohh yeahhhhh amazing song

  • both maiden and accept are awesome. yeah maiden may have ripped off the riff but they made an different yet equally as awesome song

  • Two minutes to accept.

  • Restless and Wild-1982

    Powerslave-1984

Looks like Maiden ripped off beginning riff.

  • @zebageba Riot - Swords and Tequila, 1981

  • This is almost a direct rip off of Two Minutes To Midnight-Iron Maiden.

  • @fuckingprodigy They do sound similar. 'Maiden and Accept are my two favorite bands (I only started listening to Accept a few months ago). The songs are somewhat different. They do play the same genre of music in the same time period. Also, yes, this song was put on an album in 1982, and Iron Maiden put 2 Minutes to Midnight on Powerslave in 1984, but I've read at least once or twice they played it live before releasing it. They're both great songs, and I don't think either of them copied.

  • DIO - STAND UP AND SHOUT

  • CATERVA!

  • Maybe Iron maiden did rip it off but accept ripped swords & tuquila by riot

and besides iron maiden was better

  • both ripped off wildfire by budgie

  • Udo might look something between a bulldog and a turkey but he is the voice of metal...

  • great song

  • Yea, "2 minutes to midnight" have the same opener riff.

    =_='

  • Fantastic guitar work by the riffmeister Wolf Hoffmann - Udo sounds great!

Accept is one of the greatest metal bands of all time.
