Notwistanding the fact that the TARDIS has taken far worse than photon torpedoes and phaser fire, this is the argument always trotted out for why other characters, especially Action Heroes, are superior to the Doctor. They have Guns/weapons/fighting skills/Superpowers. They would shoot/blast/kick/punch him. Case in point, guess what you get if you enter the words Doctor Who and Superman into Google. Go on, guess.
Picard listens to Data's analysis: "Captain, That man has high levels of annoyability." Picard responds, "Mr.Worf. Full spread of photon torpedoes! FIRE!"
"It's design is completely foreign."??? A mid-20ieth London Police-Call Box is unrecognizable to Entertprise history banks? I know some events in history are lost but come ON!
@mahony323 At least the shape would not be foreign. Also, they made that comment before they attacked it. Only thing left is that their sensors detected its unusual attributes. Normally, they will at least mention if the shape appears familiar.
@PringlesJingles Carnell, the Blakes 7 character from Kaldor City, also appears in Corpse Marker, the Doctor Who novel which was a sequel to The Robots of Death. Because both it and Kaldor City are by Chris Boucher, who wrote The Robots of Death and Weapon, the Blakes 7 episode Carnell. was in.
@mahony323 I'd wager Terry Nation wanted the Daleks in everything, including American TV ;~). That being said, I think that would have been very interesting. The Daleks certainly lend themselves to the gritty sort of stories Blake's 7 did. And there's no reason why Doctor Who and Blake's 7 couldn't be set in the same universe. There is even a Federation in Earth's future on DW
@BinroWasRight It's not the Terran Federation, though. The truth is that putting the Daleks in Blakes 7 would be claiming it's a Doctor Who spin-off, so personally I'm glad they didn't.
@BinroWasRight Terry signed a deal for the Daleks to get their own show on American TV, and wrote a script for a pilot which was recently made as an audio drama. The Evil of the Daleks in 1967 was intended to write them out of Doctor Who, but it fell through so they weren't, which was a good thing in the long run.
Aghhhh this is annoying because i know ive seen a Dr Who/Star Trek crossover of some sort but cant remember where or what format,it was either cartoon or graphic novel though and it was Tom Baker and TOS
@wildfire160 That's The Doctor and The Enterprise, a fanzine story that was eventually published with the character names changed. In fanfiction Doctor Who and Star Trek have crossed over a million times, so it's a good thing it's happened elsewhere.
By the way, one other thing I didn't mention was Party Animals, a Doctor Who Magazine comic strip story where we saw characters from Star Trek, Marvel Comics, Sapphire and Steel, John Steed and Emma Peel and even Conan.
The Ffth Doctor novel is called The Crystal Bucephalus. The Doctor in one scene is given a mug of tea and smiles that he always recommends tea-Earl Grey-hot-to all his friends.
The Doctor actually appeared in the Star Trek novel Ishmael, as a hologram in My Enemy, My Ally, appeared on a magazine cover with Spock, Captain Picard and Dave Lister once-I remember seeing it-there was a novel where The Fifth Doctor implied he knew Captain Picard, and Doctor Who vs Star Trek was in the last issue of Wizard Magazine. So it is rather silly going on about what would happen, when it has happened. A few times.
If you asked me the reason Picard and the others kidnap Adric is because their thought the Doctor and his companions where evil their later founded out he was in fact good
and teamed up to fight the REAL bad guy's hopefully Daleks since their rock.
@TheLadyRomana Well, the first episode I recognize from "the Survivors", the one with the old man who "rebuilt" his wife and house after it was destroyed by a belligerant race that he eventually destroyed. I don't recognize some of the others, though.
@roxlikepeter Why haven't I ever thought of that?? Of course, that must be it! That's why he is so annoying sometimes... after all, the doctor can be very irritating for anyone not used to him... :)
Only one problem with this vid. Who are the good guys? Who are the bad guys? Aren't they both the good guys! NO! My brains rebelling! Cannot handle this concept!
@Fhilbo More like threatening an airliner; I believe the Doctor's TARDIS doesn't have offensive weaponry. Assuming the Doctor doesn't have the TARDIS's shields off, it'll take nothing from the Enterprise. Then knowing the Doctor, he'd land the TARDIS inside the Enterprise and go from there.
Interestingly, in the Doctor Who serial "The Power of the Daleks", they introduce a planet called Vulcan, but just to be clear, Star Trek premiered 2 months before this serial aired in 1966.
@MrMarvel323 Where did you get that 1968 number? Spock is refered to as a " part Vulcanian" by Harry Mudd in the first season episode, (10/13/1966) "Mudd's Women." The planet is explicitly named and visited in the second season episode, ( 9/15/1967) "Amok Time."
Mythology used the term vulcan before any television show.
@Internetizen02 Of course. Vulcan, the Roman god of fire. Actually, that number came from someone on another video, blame them. The Doctor's home planet is Gallifrey, which unlike Vulcan or for that matter, Krypton, is an invented name by Robert Holmes.
this is actually a good crossover. the only other good one is bewteen the daleks and the borg completely in cgi. others are plain shocking, most models or voiceovers
The idea of these 2 shows kinda.. running into one another is a good idea.. im surprised no one has done this.. someone really should make a cross over with these 2 shows.. maybe not THIS star trek.. but.. some kind of cross over would be cool.
@Lianas1980 they actually were planning to cross over the original star trek w/ Doctor Who, but Star Trek got cancelled before they could make it a reality
@DarthLucifer08 Yes, Picard and Co. would respond like that. Bunch of bureaucrats and military thugs. I have no problem believing that the Federation of Star Trek is one and the same with the Federation of Blake's 7. Star Trek is the propaganda version.
You are correct that Picard et. al would not have responded that way. Neither would Kirk, Sisko or Janeway respond that way. It isn't the Starfleet way.
They probably would have beamed them aboard and had a meeting in the captain's ready room/briefing room on how to get the Doctor and his companions back to where they came from.
@MrMarvel323 Yes, but how and why did the TARDIS land there? Those are the types of questions that the plot would need to deal with....and how to get them back. In "Star Trek The Next Generation" terms it would almost certainly be explained as some kind of "anomaly" and the "Star Trek" side would have a meeting with technobabble on how to explain it. For example, they might go with the "quantum multiverse" idea from "Parallels."
@Internetizen02 Well, that would depend on whether they exist in two different universes in said story or not. It could just be story in which they coexist. There was a Star Trek novel once called Ishmael which apparently featured cameos by not only The Doctor, but Han Solo, Apollo and Starbuck from Battlestar Galactica and characters from a few other shows. They were not actually named but described. So I suppose that is the closest to an actual crossover there's been.
@DarthLucifer08 Hey, they might have responded like that, who's to say torchwood wouldnt have its branch in starfleet. That was a fun video to watch, good work.
Especially at the end of ORINGINAL DOCTOR WHO episode where Adric crashed into that plant-(ADRIC DID NOT SURVIVE>=(P....)-Lady asks,What will the ARCHOLOGIST THINK? The DOCTOR just smiles mischieviously =)p
I mean.... you find a sentient being with a tiny powerful blue spaceship and instead of being inquisitive of who or what they are you decide to be hostile?
A good idea, but poorly executed. The DW part seems fine enough, but the ST side of the story doesn't really fairly portray Picard and the Enterprise.
I would use better story line the doctor and his two companions would land the tardis on the enterprise they picard and the crew, the admiral is on bourd and acuses Doctor of attempting to sabatage the ship the admiral is of the master who using a homing signal to bring the Borg
It's a combo of the Dr. Who theme and the original Star Trek theme---which had a soprano female voice and theremin singing in it. This has just a soprano voice on it.
Very well done! If I didn't know Earth isn't at the border of the Neutral Zone this would've been perfectly flawless! Congrats for that - being 99.99% - surprized how perfect it fit!
Notwistanding the fact that the TARDIS has taken far worse than photon torpedoes and phaser fire, this is the argument always trotted out for why other characters, especially Action Heroes, are superior to the Doctor. Which theme song is this!?!?!?!
It is insane! I want to know the name of the woman who sings the tone of the theme!!!!!!!!
danwat1234 2 years ago
it sounds like theremin to me
CaptinAwesome13 2 years ago
there's a woman singing as well.
Laembort 2 years ago
It's a combo of the Dr. Who theme and the original Star Trek theme---which had a soprano female voice and theremin singing in it. This has just a soprano voice on it.

Very well done! If I didn't know Earth isn't at the border of the Neutral Zone this would've been perfectly flawless! Congrats for that - being 99.99% - surprized how perfect it fit!

Okay, that was just plain fun! Love what you did with the theme music, too.
