I speak/understand Italian (lived there for 8 years) & have actually been to Prato. The issues are two-fold:

*The Chinese there are often indentured servants sent by gov't.-owned factories & work in oft-appalling conditions with no desire to integrate into the society - since they are not there by choice.

*The fact this rapidly multiplying population maintains their culture amidst a culture rich in substance & history is disturbing. If I want Italian culture, should I go to Beijing?! Same thing.

Im studying architecture in the UK. we are going to go to Prato to understand the city and analyse it Social political issues. We are aiming to come up with architectural proposal that can have a positive effect in the city, Dose any of u guys have any suggestion? What are the main problems of the city? What are the most interesting about the city? and how architecture can help Prato's inhabitants?

i Cinesi sono gente dotata di un gran senso dell'onore e grandi lavoratori. La presunta mancata integrazione è dovuta esclusivamente alla difficoltà di imparare l'italiano, ma se ben guardate, loro per primi vorrebbero integrarsi: appena arrivano prendono nomi italiani, dato che i loro x noi sono impronunciabili. Gli islamici non mi pare facciano lo stesso.

Quanto alla Cina, invece, è una dittatura, quindi per definizione uno stato canaglia.

Sui grandi numeri è logico che ci siano sempre le mele marce, è un fatto statistico. La mafia cinese? Sicuramente ci sarà, ma è un circolo chiuso tra quella gente, non è come quella suditaliana che va in giro a taglieggiare la gente comune.

Quanto all'integrazione, i figli che nascono in italia si sentono italiani, spesso vedo coppie miste di fidanzati cina-italia. Cosa che gli islamici non fanno, come ripeto.

Mi chiedo in che città abiti, se riesci a vedere Prato come quella che è: il degrado. C'è da dire che senza alcun dubbio il fenomeno dell'immigrazione sia negativo ma è necessario inquadrarlo sotto tutti gli ambiti, anche quello economico. Vogliamo parlare della concorrenza scorretta e sleale che la maggior parte delle attività cinesi porta avanti?
