I understand this is a work in progress, so dont pay mucho attention to physics issues, and little glitching. I've not being dissapointed by any of the previous ARMA games, they are all spectacular :D only for Hard Core combat enthusiasts

I don't get it, Bf3 is very realistic. I think arma 3 and Bf3 are the only ones that are.tied for the only realistic games this year and many more to come

This game looks great. My one concern is that he said they're going to have some fictional vehicles. It's a simulator right? So doesn't having non-existent vehicles kind of defeat the purpose?
crap lol. This game is a bit "too big" to ever be finished. :P by the looks of the game engine, they started making it in 2007 or something and havent even finished yet and end up with an outdated-graphicwise game. But then again, graphics arent everything. :P

At last a game with organic graphics! You wanna know why? Because it's released for PC only, which means the draw distance is not limited to accomodate with consoles. I'm tired of the foggy backgrounds we experience in the multiplatform releases
If you want good graphics and realistic gameplay, go join the real Army. Theyre all games regardless of graphics, or how real they make them.. You still put it in a system and play it.
I honestly hope they fix the reflex sight. It's unrealistic that you can see the reticule in the sight from such angles (when holding it off to your side or by your hip).
@xXWeC0dXx because Arma is not just one genre, it can be played in many different ways, you can play it as an fps, rts, rpg and possibly more ways than that. It also has an extensive mission editor to create anything you might want to play with your friends. This game is not for those who are not willing to learn.

It looks a lot like what I wish the next Operation Flashpoint had been like for xbox 360. I'm sure they could make a really amazing single player game out of this, I love the thrill of knowing that only one bullet can kill you but i'm not sure if online versus would be much fun. OF:Dragon Rising was pretty frustrating a lot of the time. I really wish there was a "online co-op single player game" like this for the 360 though.
I don't care about graphics. however battle is all what this game is about. so yea i would like to see some new animation of the firing and the new interface they claim they improved. after all they need to strike a good balance between sim and arcade to make it friendly to new costumers. they to want money lol
i dont see why people doesnt want realism in games because the more realistic it can get the better. for instance cod and bf3 are very good games no doubt about it but i would rather play a game thats closest to actual combat as possible to where if you do something in a game you can sit back and say yea that could happen in real life
There's nothing on the market even similar to the ARMA series. Arma II: Operation Arrowhead has kept me entertained for hours on end. I just hope that they make some slight adjustments to the shooting mechanics, flight mechanics, and a few other minor tweaks would be nice.
This seems a bit TOO realistic. In first person you can barely see out of the jeep window, the chopper is really slow and the action is generally slow paced with too much travelling between missions. Just my opinion.

FOR BF3 and COD players..soldiers dont act like in BF3 or COD soldiers hide wen under fire, they dont run and never get tire, they dont jump and still keep runing, or get heal in 1 sec, with medkits.. and use full clip to get a kill.. see real footage in irak or any war, u dont see them running wen bullets are flying, in real life you can hear the shooting but never see whos shooting same in ARMA games
I hope that this game will not be as glitchy as arma 2, and better optimized, arma 2 was sometimes unplayable. I like the feeling of the realism in the arma games but far to much glitches. I also hope they will fix the physics before release. And PLEASE get some nice voice actors for the game! The ones in the second game sucked! This game can not be compared to bf3, and bf3 can not be compared to cod.

I just don't see why BF fans insist on that BF3 is better than ArmA 3, when obviously, ArmA 3 is better in every way, and I can say a million reasons why, so here's a few to enlighten you of the difference:
ArmA 3 has far better graphics, obviously, but the unique thing about ArmA, being a war simulator, is that you can create ANY scenario that you can imagine, combat or otherwise.

In fact, Arma 3 features an extremely sophisticated ballistic modell. It takes in count the muzzlevelocity, gravity, air friction, drag, dispersion, angle of impact and impact force for every single bullet. It even calculates penetration.
I think your problem is you don't know what "zeroing" is. In short: He is aiming higher to compensate for said bulletdrop;)

ArmA was made for realism and simulation, not for entertainment like BF. I've played BF3 and quite frankly I was very disappointed. Although even if the graphics were impressive, its not enough. And not to mention the CoD style multiplayer. ArmA sets a new standard for what multiplayer should be, which is freedom of choice.

@OhItsThat In all seriousness, you can actually set how many players can play in your game at one time. ARMA is much more focused on Hosting custom games rather than servers of 1 or a few different game modes. Then again, your network connection and graphics processor will dictate how many players your game can support without lag. The objectives can also vary greatly on multiplayer considering you can host custom games with your own objectives. You can even access the editor to create games.

Problem with these games they are amazing to play, but people new to PC games or this game will find it almost impossible to play, its too hard with no guide, plus in this video its obvious the people he kills are away

Arma series (originated in Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis) is a fullscale military simulator, completely different from arcade games such as BF et consortes. If you like simulations you would propably like Arma too, otherwise I wouldn't risk buying a PC only to try Arma.

And then there is Modern Warfare with is more unrealistic then Battlefield! The games may use real weapons, they might make the equipment and outfits look real, but the game in a whole, is more like an arcade game on a small map. The Ballistics are a joke in the Battlefield games.

geez really doesnt look that great. graphics are good but are they really that much better? the vehicles look very weird, but yeah i guess the backdrop looks a lot better. really wouldnt blow my load over it like a lot of people have done already. i expect same or better graphics etc. on next console generations.

I just don't see why BF fans insist on that BF3 is better than ArmA 3, when obviously, ArmA 3 is better in every way, and I can say a million reasons why, so here's a few to enlighten you of the difference:
ArmA 3 has far better graphics, obviously, but the unique thing about ArmA, being a war simulator, is that you can create ANY scenario that you can imagine, combat or otherwise.
And this also includes on multiplayer.

No way to create your own scenarios to simluate warfare in your own prefered environment and/or combat situations.
A campaign with a few set of missions and limited access to vehicles and usage.
Not even half the armaments/weapons/vehicles that ArmA has to offer.

OF COURSE does it have bulletdrop.
In fact, Arma 3 features an extremely sophisticated ballistic modell. It takes in count the muzzlevelocity, gravity, air friction, drag, dispersion, angle of impact and impact force for every single bullet. It even calculates penetration.
I think your problem is you don't know what "zeroing" is. In short: He is aiming higher to compensate for said bulletdrop;)

@guuso123 Do not speak of a game you clearly don't own, and especially not one based on a game that is still very far from development completion. ArmA was made for realism and simulation, not for entertainment like BF. I've played BF3 and quite frankly I was very disappointed. Although even if the graphics were impressive, its not enough. And not to mention the CoD style multiplayer. ArmA sets a new standard for what multiplayer should be, which is freedom of choice.

@OhItsThat In all seriousness, you can actually set how many players can play in your game at one time. ARMA is much more focused on Hosting custom games rather than servers of 1 or a few different game modes. Then again, your network connection and graphics processor will dictate how many players your game can support without lag. The objectives can also vary greatly on multiplayer considering you can host custom games with your own objectives. You can even access the editor to create games.

Arma series (originated in Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis) is a fullscale military simulator, completely different from arcade games such as BF et consortes. If you like simulations you would propably like Arma too, otherwise I wouldn't risk buying a PC only to try Arma.

ARMA is meant to be realistic in every way, just because BF3 isn't like it. Doesn't mean DICE can't do it, they just don't want to over-use the realism aspect in their games. @ice7227 I would have to disagree with you! Battlefields have always been more geared towards arcade feel, more of a game then a sim! And then there is Modern Warfare with is more unrealistic then Battlefield! The games may use real weapons, they might make the equipment and outfits look real, but the game in a whole, is more like an arcade game on a small map. The Ballistics are a joke in the Battlefield games.
