  • absolutely perfect, thank you

  • i love blender. and im afraid to use panda because of proggraming. anyone can prove me wrong?

  • @fullgrown31 i once was a blender-person ,too . with no coding skills. all i can say is that it is worth the trouble of learning it. in the end, learning python (the language used for panda) got me a job.

  • @thomasegi waw. that quickly inspired me.

  • @thomasegi hey. so you use panda, right? so could you help me get started on python?(where did you get started?) and have you used unity3d?(lots say unity is the best) is it more easier or powerful than panda? or the other way around? constructive criticism please.

  • @fullgrown31 your question would've been answered on page 3 of the panda manual. about unity.. it does not fit my needs. what is "the best" for you, depends on your needs. learning python is a good idea anyway.

  • Thanks thomasegi, excellent tutorial.

  • Great tutorial.

However it's a real disappointment to see that Blender's default interface STILL sucks ass... It took 4-5 hours to get it configured properly the first time (and I lost my installation).

I thought that after 8 years they'd make it half-usable for once.

And free is not an argument. CharacterFX (for example) is free too.

Open-source is not an argument (eg.: Misfit Model 3D & Wings3D).

  • @badbreath778 blenders interface is amazing :P

  • @badbreath778 Check out the latest version of Blender, 2.57. It's great. They completely redesigned the interface to make it easy. I hated the old interface just like you, and I used to use commercial modeling programs. Now I'm a Blender-only guy! I love it.

  • Great stuff! Where and How did you learn all of this? I find blender very hard to master with thousands of features!

  • one feature at time.

  • nice tutorial, thank you very much! :)

  • Ok...i exported it one time just fine...now when I changed the file location and tried to export again...same error...this is getting on my nerves...

  • @Twinfun2

Hey thanks, I had the same problem as yours, now I know it's because of the path. I'm gonna report that bug.

Meanwhile, just save the egg file(s) at the root, C:\ in windows

  • In Pview, it keeps telling me:

    "No Animation"

I added the animation and left the name at default in chicken. What am I doing wrong?

  • finaly, i got it! thank you for the reply..

  • this is a great tut but then i encountered a problem.. it shows the model and the animation in the chicken pview but when i pview using the cmd.. can you help me pls? m using blender 2.49 chicken r71b

  • if you uncheck the "single-file" option. you get one .egg for the mesh. and one additional for each animation you exported.

if you want to pview the animation you have to specify the animation when executing pview. like:

    pview yourmesh.egg yourmesh-anim.egg

  • @thomasegi Good info. thx

  • Again, thank you for this video. I thought animating was a scary thing. It isn't!
