@normalais depends on the lengths and ratios of each gear, like in the McLaren MP4-12C, top speed is in 6th gear, go to 7th and you slow down, the 7th gear is there only for economy.

On the sound department I think the Ferrari comes on top too. Hmm.... So the LFA's top speed is only 6 MPH higher than my 2006 Chrysler 300C SRT8. I'll have to keep that in mind next time I'm in a betting mood. haha That said... I thought several 'testers' have already confirmed a 202 MPH top speed for the Lexus.

And he GTO doesn't have a double clutch either. But companies like Lexus who come out saying the reason their gearbox is so much slower and clunkier than everyone elses is to give a mechanical feel is boardroom bullshit and an excuse not to spend more on R&D.

@rwian The LFA Ring Edtion would be better suited against the 599XX since both are packaged as exclusive track cars, and also you do realize that the Enzo is over 8 years old right? So you're comparing a recent car with one that's from another decade. Tech moves so fast these days if you don't perform better than cars that came out last month, your R&D department is too slow.

@rwian Ok, LFA NB beat the Enzo by 11 seconds, but GTO not was on Nordschleife, so you can only theorize, who will be faster... Lexus NB was only on Nordschleife, but what about other circuits? LFA costs the same as GTO (around 250,000 €), so this comparsion is OK... By the way - i love LFA - nice sound and design, but I know that Ferrari can make great cars and they do it so many years and understands what they are doing... And finally - LFA NB isn´t not much faster than base LFA in drag race..

@rwian In a straight line the LFA NB edition isn't really faster than the normal LFA at all really. Its only on the track that it will show its advantages. Just for your info the Enzo driven at the Nurburgring wasn't driven by a professional. It was Horst Von Saurma or whatever his name is and hes only decent at best. The LFA NB was driven by a Lexus driver.

Not a fair comparison. The ferraris engine size is much bigger, also on terms of fuel consumtion. The Lfa is way better concerning engineering. Overall i wud go with the LFA! Better handling, japanese hi tec, cool design and nice sound! ... And: every nigger has a ferrari, but not a LFA!! Think bout it!

I'd have the Ferrari.
Ferrari has more history as an automaker not to mention I think the 599 (and the new 458 and FF) looks so much prettier than the LFA.
On the sound department I think the Ferrari comes on top too. The LFA sounds too smooth like the sound was synthesized electronically for a racing game while in the Ferrari you can almost hear every single explosion. The Ferrari V12 is the true symphony since the you can hear that it is an orchestra and not a computer making the sound.

Yeah, 458 (self-burning, braking e-diff), GTO (very stable until hit redline over 5 mins, 7-8 pistons of 12 usually touching the floor, other going onto air) Read sometimes about Ferrari recalls and their well hidden problems. Have a nice day.

Even a multiple-retard could tell you something made in Japan or Korea will be better than Italy in making something that'll last. But that doesn't make a Ferrari less desirable.
A car doesn't have to be reliable to be good (look at old Alfa-Romeos, Lancias, Lamborghinis and Ferraris). They just need to have that certain quirkiness that makes you want them (no, not a Gundam battlesuit styled bodykit).

Well Ferrari's are reliable in terms, of engines. GTO had several problems but that's now OK, Look at 250/275GTO, it's still racing on vintage races.
