It's unbelievable - fantastic!!! And it's the right title -requiem for a dream. John Nash is a genius - awesome. And hes has learned to live with his incurable schizophrenia. Not many people with this illness can that ....

I can imagine what you mean, but I always wanted to use this song in a video and this seemed like something that could work. I also think that a song doesn't necessarily have to fit with the movie, but with your clipchoice. After all it is re-editing parts of the movie... But I do understand what you mean. This film is a stunning work of art. Yes, while it can be criticized for taking liberties with John Nash's true story, his romance, and his disorder. It's brilliant, in its own right.

Incidentally, I want to see this movie again. As inaccurate as it is to Mr.Nash, it's a fantastic movie. Yet more proof that Crowe CAN act.
It also spreads awareness of Schizophrenia (Paranoid Schizophrena, which with Nash, had little if no effect on his cognitive abilities), and the severe difficulties it can cause. I wish more people would read into the mental disorder, as most think Schizophrenia is Dissociative Identity Disorder. I just don't like significant things being misunderstood.

"Beautiful Mind" is the best movie EVER... but when I am saying "ever" I really mean it! Wow... this movie just blew my mind off! Why would you think that I have no sense of humor? You can't decide on that at all, after only watching one video I made. You can't even have a solid opinion after watching all my videos... I never saw myself as dumb or stupid and I don't think it is really appropriate to judge upon after watching a video.. This isn't the LOTR soundtrack, it is only reorchastrated for the LOTR trailer. i think Social Psychology is a very interesting fascet of Psychology. How a person carries themselfs in a social context says a lot about their personality. The most intreging aspect of the real John Nash was how incredibly backward he was socially. Although, this is common of a Schizophrenic. They would rather conversate with their dellousions then be emersed in human disscussion.
Oh, when you begin to study Psych. Be sure to know a bunch about Maslow Erikson and Jung.

I saw this film yesterday , and it made a great impact yet i wonder would i still ask myself when i review what the story tells you. Is a man with a hidden talent wich became an obsession, wich leaded to a social disorder , I think there is a connection between those two events. He just created this burden/curse with an obsession of his talent. But still it was a great film and well it made you think about stuff, and thats exacly how every film should be.

Excellent match of a driving and intense piece of music and a driving and intense real story, as portrayed in the movie. These "dramas" in the world of schizophrenia as well as many other mental illnesses are never dramas asked for by the person living them.
I don't know who the composer of Requium for a Dream is, but I love James Horner's work on the film score of "A Beautiful Mind". Perhaps the two composers would have much to discuss...or to express, in music were they to meet.

This film is amazing! The story of John Nash is incredible I'm reading the book right nowand I love it. I knew immediately after watching this that I wanted to become a Psychologist. Now, it's my major in college.

I had an AMAZING Psych. teacher my Senior year of high school. He made me think about things I had never thought about before! And like I said, I was already very interested in it before I started his class, he just helped fuel the fire. lol. In his class was actually the first time I had seen the film and I was sucked in!

Yes I do. Russel Crowe does a fantasic portrail of John Nash. Jennifer Conneley does wonderful playing Alicia too. No doubt the movie covers up some of the true Nash, but overall it gives the audiance a true glimpse into the tourcherd mind of a schizophrenic patiant. It shows the greatest of minds, (such as John) have their demons to bare.

Hi! I don't know if you remember that we had this convo, but I just wanted to tell you that I will start studying psychology in a few weeks too ;-)! The study I did just really wasn't as I expected it to be and after a long time thinking about it I realized that I wanted to study Psychology. I should have listened to my heart earlier! XD. One thing I dont like about this film is that it covered up how bad nash was to his wife and stuff, and also made a whole load of stuff to do with his Schitzophrenia. its a good film, but it isnt a accurate represntation.
True people like Nash treat their families badly at times. BUT in their mind the family becomes part of their imaginary conspiracy theories. This is a very good vid and the music suits the reality of living with people like Nash.

I thought it was called Requiem For a Dream myself about 2 months ago, until I searched up on it and saw Requiem was actually a movie, not the music.
Again, I am apologetic if I sounded like a picky and petty nerd.

"Beautiful Mind" is the best movie EVER... but when I am saying "ever" I really mean it! Wow... this movie just blew my mind off! I also used it as a resource on a research paper about "Shizophrenia" about one year ago. Can even you take a guess how many time I watched?? Seven times dude!! It's just... damn it! I am not even able to describe the feeling it made me feel! Who made this video... you rock man!!

Why would you think that I have no sense of humor? You can't decide on that at all, after only watching one video I made. You can't even have a solid opinion after watching all my videos... I never saw myself as dumb or stupid and I don't think it is really appropriate to judge upon after watching a video.. This isn't the LOTR soundtrack, it is only reorchastrated for the LOTR trailer. The OST is from Requiem for a Dream. You'd better get your sources right.

One more thing; why would I put another song? Only because you think that this song (which wasn't intended to be used on a fantasy film as I explained in the former comment) doesn;t suit well? I think it works with my video. Maybe not with the entire movie, but that wasn't my point. I wanted to put some parts from the movie together with a song I liked. If you don't like it; that is perfectly fine. But calling me dumb and stupid, with no sense of humor is slightly overreacted, dont' you think?

oh hey there! yes, i remember that talk we had like this time last year. How are you doing? Congrats on choosing Psychology! You are making a fantasic choice! Plus, if it is what you really want then go for it! I have learned so many wonderful and intriging things in the year that I've been studying the field at my college. i think Social Psychology is a very interesting fascet of Psychology. How a person carries themselfs in a social context says a lot about their personality. The most intreging aspect of the real John Nash was how incredibly backward he was socially. Although, this is common of a Schizophrenic. They would rather conversate with their dellousions then be emersed in human disscussion.
Oh, when you begin to study Psych. Be sure to know a bunch about Maslow Erikson and Jung.

I saw this film yesterday , and it made a great impact yet i wonder would i still ask myself when i review what the story tells you. Is a man with a hidden talent wich became an obsession, wich leaded to a social disorder , I think there is a connection between those two events. He just created this burden/curse with an obsession of his talent. But still it was a great film and well it made you think about stuff, and thats exacly how every film should be.

Excellent match of a driving and intense piece of music and a driving and intense real story, as portrayed in the movie. These "dramas" in the world of schizophrenia as well as many other mental illnesses are never dramas asked for by the person living them.
I don't know who the composer of Requium for a Dream is, but I love James Horner's work on the film score of "A Beautiful Mind". Perhaps the two composers would have much to discuss...or to express, in music were they to meet.

This film is amazing! The story of John Nash is incredible I'm reading the book right nowand I love it. I knew immediately after watching this that I wanted to become a Psychologist. Now, it's my major in college.

Your welcome. :) Yeah, I've always had a fashination with the mind and human behavior too, Although, A Beautiful Mind wasn't the only thing that made me decide on Psychology. I had an AMAZING Psych. teacher my Senior year of high school. He made me think about things I had never thought about before! And like I said, I was already very interested in it before I started his class, he just helped fuel the fire. lol. In his class was actually the first time I had seen the film and I was sucked in!

Yes I do. Russel Crowe does a fantasic portrail of John Nash. Jennifer Conneley does wonderful playing Alicia too. No doubt the movie covers up some of the true Nash, but overall it gives the audiance a true glimpse into the tourcherd mind of a schizophrenic patiant. It shows the greatest of minds, (such as John) have their demons to bare.

The study I did just really wasn't as I expected it to be and after a long time thinking about it I realized that I wanted to study Psychology. I should have listened to my heart earlier! XD. One thing I dont like about this film is that it covered up how bad nash was to his wife and stuff, and also made a whole load of stuff to do with his Schitzophrenia. its a good film, but it isnt a accurate represntation.

True people like Nash treat their families badly at times. BUT in their mind the family becomes part of their imaginary conspiracy theories. This is a very good vid and the music suits the reality of living with people like Nash.
