  • Chevy thrusts you deep

  • Why is the dad wearing a mic? You can tell because 1. His voice is loud and clear even when hes not close to the camera. 2. When he pats his heart when leaning on the car you hear the mic hit.

  • @WombatBitch read the description... And maybe stay away from investigative work ;)

  • Amazing story, just amazing! This dad has a son with heart of pure gold! Damnit!

  • What a beautiful gift :)

  • That's a hell of a nice thing to do for a guy that had to give up something he loved for his family !

  • I have a bmw e36 320i and it really has a character of its own. I know its not that old and its not american..but its all mechanical and smells like a gas station )) the sound it makes is soo sexy. I will never sell it.

  • 58 people that watched this video are German,

  • Ladies, try to understand why cars is so good for mans.

  • I never get sick of this story. I teared up the first time I saw it, when it was featured in one of the automotive blogs.

  • Its not a Chevy thing. Its a car thing in general. One of my life long dreams to to find a nice MG Midget for my father. He had one as his first car. Then restore it back to original showroom condition. It would be awesome if I could find the actual car though.

  • I get chills watching this. Truly incredible. Chevy runs deep indeed.

  • this is insane made me grow some tears and im currently looking for my dads first car but its bean rusted away feels horrible each year the day he bought it hes bean drinking to celebrate the cars birthday and i dont have the guts to tell him the car was a 1955 impala we now have a 1974 impala my first car always loved it only hase 20 000 miles original 100 %

  • As a Dodge fan, I love this, and as a lover of American Cars as a whole, this is almost tearjerking. Chevy does run deep. Ford and Mopar do as well. Long live the American car

  • Feels like the "Norton Project" video. Hmmmm.

  • you can also do this within 30 years with your mom' camry. She is going: "oh my god, that's my old dish washer!"

  • hope my kids do something like this for me

  • All this time and the car was maintained. how come others fade and rust away.

  • @rzorNvme Some people care for them and some dont. some just let them sit and rust :/ its a shame...

  • I actually got teary-eyed watching this

  • This is the most awesome commercial that I think that I've ever seen! WOW!

  • Dad raised his kids right....Great to see them give him back this gift!!

  • Chevy Runs Deep, Very Very Deep.

  • Finally Chevrolet makes something about their old cars.

  • awesome.

  • When the dad sold it, they kept a copy of the bill of sale. With the VIN on there, they tracked it down. The current issue of Musclecar Review has an article about this car.

  • @loudredcar Yeah thats what brought me here :P

  • This is a cool clip. I hope Dad lit the rears up around the corner!

  • @Antoinedubois- how about not be an asshole. That's a fucked up thing to say! Great commercial though

  • and.. he died in a car accident.

  • Great story! But a 1965 Impala in mint condition?!?! I don't think so >_>

  • i wonder how he remembered the vin number that long

  • @chinko619

It's not that unbelievable. My dad remembers the numbers of his Camaro.

  • id like to see someone get that emotional over some import.

  • am cry . . . so amazing

  • TWO WORDS..........

    FREEKING AWESOME......

  • damn onion cuttin' ninjas

  • pre bailout chevy is great. america should only make RWD muscle cars and trucks with manual transmissions only

  • That's an awesome video...

  • must be the best son ever !!! and it's not just a car dickheads it is a love !!! 1000000000 likes from me !!!

  • i am only 12 years old and i think you did an amazing thing!!

  • Wish I had a high def camera to make a video and a film crew

  • it's just a car

  • @denisrenelara yeah and your just an elastic bag of mostly water or at least you must be considering you have no feeelings oh wait your a girl nvm

  • @Marsuvees100 still a car

  • Comment removed

  • Just saw it go for $17,500 on the Mecum auction. The guy was there and picked up the new Toyota Camry instead. Since they moved to Florida, they needed an AC car. That is a bullshit story too, but it's more believable than this crock of shit.

  • If this was actually a true story, he would have just taken a second mortgage for the "tough times" he claims happened in the 80s. Dumping this car back then was only $3000-4000. The acting is so bad.

  • @dalotel well $3000 or $4000 was more money back then sure things cost more NOW but they costed less then its called inflation look it up and even if inflation did not exist still 4000 dollars would go a long way even today

  • Comment removed

  • @Marsuvees100 Costed less? What grade did you drop out from, 3rd? You need to look up costed, apparently because you're an illiterate moron. Yes, the mid 80s $4000 is about $6000 today, or 1/3. That certainly doesn't make one bit of difference in the point of my comment. The only commercial that's worthy of 1,000,000 views is the one where this lousy actor actually gets a heart attack, and dies for dwelling on the past, and not living in the now.

  • Never a big fan of American cars in general but smashing video! :)

  • Does anyone know what website they used to track the VIN? I have a very similar story with my dad's 78 Corvette. This commercial gives me hope of finding it someday.

  • 54 people don't have dad

  • Grandpa goes home, lists it on Craigslist, some beaner shows up with $16,000, grandpa goes out and gets a fuel efficient Hyundai Sonata, because he had no where to store this tank living on social security. His son finally finds the car again, NOW converted to a lowrider, with hydraulic suspension, earning high hop contests in the beaner neighborhood, repainted metallic purple. They shoot him when he shows, thinking he's DEA.

  • @dalotel Do you think that would really happen in this case?

  • @NESherv It's more realistic than this sap story of "Look one more time honey" and "bought it from the dealer over the phone."

Didn't you ever see a Low Rider magazine? That's where all the Chevy's go. This guys acting sucks grabbing his chest when a camera was there all along.

I rather watch Overhaulin', at least it's an honest show. This is total Bullshit.

  • @dalotel I meant after all this. I do sadly agree that most elegant classics are ruined by young kids with no perception of taste. One of my favorite Chevys is the '80s Caprice, and I'm sad to say that it's hard to find an unmolested one in this day and age. However, there is still hope.

I'm not sure if this is acting or not, but I like to believe the video's description.

  • All I noticed was grandpa was being a grandpa, playing with his grand kids, and as soon as this old gas guzzling antique shows up, he blows the kids off and is focused on himself. I bet he paid far more for the car from the dealer than it's worth.

  • My dad had a 65 Impala, It was white with a blue interior. It had a 283 cubic inch V8. I used to hand-wash it every Saturday for one dollar. That one dollar was my entire weekend spending money.

  • damn onions

  • That's it. I am writing down the VIN number of my first car (which I need to sell soon to pay off my second car) so that someday I can maybe find where she is. I may be the only person in the world who cares about a Ford Windstar, but damned if I haven't just fallen in love with that thing!

  • this is retarded. this is just a commercial for chevrolet. meaning and love left the door once chevrolet said we should take a story about an old man's obsession with his car and turn it into a pr campaign.

  • I own a Peugeot, but I still almost cried when watching this short clip, it gave me the chills, it was so cute, such a nice gesture for them to do this for their dad. :')

  • It was an amazing story. I wish I could find my dad's 1976 Ford Granada Ghia. He would love that...

  • Fuck ford

    Chevy for life

  • @l00kel00ke I think you've missed the point of this video.

  • My grandpa had a '65 Impala SS 350 that he bought knew back in the 50's. He took it to Japan, where he met my grandma, and where my family started. Came back to the states and sold it for a '69 Camaro SS 350. As much as I love Camaros, I'd love to find out where the Impala is, especially since my grandpa died 10 years ago. It would be a great way to remember him...

  • @chuck244422

Dude just shut the fuck up. Your comment was just so ill placed, why would u even say something like that? U obviously have no soul or sense of worth. This mean so much more than what u just named. I bet he has newer cars at home but I can guarantee this is his favorite and always has been.

  • These type of moments are getting ruined by toyota prius.... The pride of owning a car just isn't there... that why i believe I'm the last of our era who can tell a car by the noise it makes....make me feel lonely in this cold world full of PRUIS :(

  • @ARG3NT1N1AN Your not alone man. I can't stand the way newer cars look. They have no character anymore. When I look at old cars they just have a certain presence about them that just can't be reproduced. Cars from the 40~50's are my favorite. Oh and I can't stand getting stuck behind old corollas and stupid priuses on the highway. They speed up get in front of you and slow down, why? lol.

  • @workensmart LMAO i couldn't of said it any better... i just turned 17 and i want to make my dads accord 03 he's giving me a makeover with rims, tinted windows, maybe tunning the engine and for what? all its gone do is make the cops stop me and the speed limit around town is 25 mph...i live in the wrong era :)

  • @ARG3NT1N1AN Well I have a 96 Bonneville SSEI with a supercharged V6. The worst thing I ever did was take the baffles out of the air box lol. Now every time I step on the gas the supercharger wines like crazy. It sounds awesome but I have to be real careful. I does not help that its black on black with polished exhaust tips lol. It gets even louder if i floor it in a tunnel. The supercharger just echos though the whole tunnel lol.

  • @ARG3NT1N1AN I can recognize a Prius by the noises it makes too, it's just a different kind of noise (and of course it's a noise you can't hear when a lot of other cars are around). The pride of owning a car is still very much there even with a Prius. It may look different on the surface but underneath those details it's still the same as it ever was. The times may change but the people don't.

  • Wouldnt it be awkward when he saw the car said "hey look its my old junk car". "Man I hated that thing."

  • If he bought his dad a new corvette or merceades bet hed like it more and he would be comfortable.

  • Great story! My dad had a 1959 Chevy Impala hardtop Sport coupe many years ago, think he bought it in 65-67. Would be great if i found it :)

  • Best part of the video 4:43 - The original owner is looking at what is called a protect-o-plate. It was sort of like a credit card they would give you when you purchased a new Chevy, It had all your info + cars info. When you would go to service your car, you just hand them the protect-o-plate. How cool is that his plate is still with the car with his name still on it,

  • I'm so happy for you and your dad. Very emotional moments.

  • My dad, is a lil different, but the same in a way. He loved records...he was a master of ceremonies and i'd love to get him all the records he said someone stole from him in the 80's...and i will ...si dios quiere

  • what a great story! I'd love to do this with my dad's 1975 Lincoln Continental.

He sold it in 1980 to put a down payment on their first house. And he still talks about how much he misses that car.

  • True American Muscle. Nothing Better. Nothing.

  • My dad had a 87 Grand National that he had to give up. This would be the nicest thing to do for him if I could get his Grand National back.

  • This video has inspired me to try and find my dad's old '57 chevy truck that he totally restored and had to sell when i was little so he could pay for a house.. Chevy really does run deep..

  • @Ecosse57 true

  • @DMJR13 u were good till u bought a jap car

  • I'm hoping to find my dad's old 64' Nova. He built it from the frame up spotless, it was his first car, and it was his pride and joy from high school up until he was 25. He sold it in 1986 so he could afford to open a mechanic shop and start his own business........We just celebrated his shop's 25th anniversary in November. Chevy does, indeed, run deep.

  • this movie brought tears to my eyes ....

  • I really wish I could get my dad his '69 Hurst Olds back. The only one in Spokane bought new right off of the show room floor...

  • "...well, they changed the mufflers."

  • Childhood cars: 93 Chevy Lumina, 85 Ford f150, 79 camaro, 99 Dodge Intrepid, 97 Pontiac Bonniville, 2002 Bonniville, 2004 Bonniville, 2007 Impala, 2009 CRV.

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA SUPERRR!!! :)))

  • What a great story!!! This makes me really want to buy my old man's HSV VT2 Clubsport that's sitting in a car lot. He loved that car so much, after he passed away my mother had to sell it to get by. The last owner really looked after it before he traded it in, I just don't have the cash to do it...

  • Chevy runs deep

  • not gonna lie... that choked me up... Very cool... I always wanted to get my father the 58 Vette he gave up...

He had a chance to own one but chose to ask my Mother to marry him and start a family with that money he had saved. He still talks about that car and one day, I'd like to think I'll find a way to make it up to him...

  • 53 people are chevy volt owners.

because NOBODY will get this broken up over what passes for automobiles today.

  • Great story!

  • Great video! What an awesome family.

  • fabulous car, fabulous story...

  • Priceless watching this with a tear in my eye .

  • Man and his machine...............damn onions...

  • Great video!

  • Damn ninjas with their onions!

  • this is a really cool commercial. I had to show this to my wife, she always bugs me about getting rid of mine because it takes up too much space in the garage.

  • It doesn't matter what car you have. It's the bond between man and machine. It's the memories and miles. My dad has a 76 442 with a 455 in it. Bought it new. While he has never parted with it, it brought myself and my 2 bros home from the hospital. It's traveled across Canada 6 times and the US 3 times. It was picked to be in the Olds parade for it's year in Lansing 1998. It has 240k miles. It's one of 13 known to exist. It will stay with our family forever.

  • Thats amazing. :)

  • I just lost my dad, who loved his cars the way this man loves his Chevy. This little film isn't painful for me to watch despite my loss: it is extremely joyful to watch, because I can feel how much it means to that dad to have his car back. What fine children he raised, who would go and get his car back for him. Good job all around.

  • Manly tears were shed.

  • Dear Chevrolet,

THIS is how you make a commercial!

  • 52 doesn`t have driving license :D

  • @Ywce07

  • Again, prove that real men use WIndows. And drive awesome cars.

  • Ford runs deep in my family, we all say we bleed Ford Blue but this story. Its not just about Chevy, its about every car guy out there. No matter if it is a Ford, Chevy, Chrysler, or Import, the feeling of knowing your car and loving every moment is something true car fans know and cherish.

  • @RedDragon1260 GRRR ! CHEVY IS WAY BETTER THAN FORDD!

  • that an awesome gift

  • only a car lover can understand that love to a car...

  • Cool Story Bro

  • I beg you Chevy bring back the Impala we all once loved what you have now is a POS make the 2014 redo something we can enjoy like Herb Younger

  • true love is beautiful !

  • As much as I love this story, it seems kind of scripted...if you pause at 3:27 you can see the camera man & the crew behind him...if you catch my drift

  • @low72 If you read the description it says that they posed as a "film crew documenting three generations of an American family" So I think he was aware of the cameras presence.

  • @DAVIDJAMES12691 Ah yes, the description. I say thank you & good day sir.

  • Great story and film. I have always been a fan of the 1965 Chevrolet Impala. Growing up my neighbor had two of them one black and one white. I loved them then and still love them now. Wish I could find one for myself.

  • This is my favorite Chevy model with my favorite color/trim combination! I wish I had the money to buy one just like it. It was for sale at John Scotti in Montreal.

  • chevy sux

  • @akon10136 fuck you

  • 51 people never had a classic car

  • So, what's this website where you can enter the VIN of a long-lost car...?

  • @63monza Carfax...

  • Personally, I am not quite the fan of Chevy

but that was a beautiful film, great job

  • Awesome: pure storytelling. Well done!

  • What a pretty car. Too bad Chevy doesn't make anything today that looks so nice...that hardtop body style, those spinner wheels, whitewall tires, the interior...we didn't know how good we had it back in the Sixties...

  • This looks like "The Norton Project". Hmmmmm.

  • I have seen this video many time and every time my eyes get watery, makes me love chevy even more than I already do :')

  • lovely
