  • I absolutely love this video!

  • Hey, I love your Synth demos. You make every synth sound wonderful..and this one is my favourite.

Btw, I'd love to know which effects you use for your synths. Do you use the same FX unit for all of your demos?

  • @Synthescheisser I use the Lexicon MPX for delay and reverb and the Dynacord VRS-23.

    thank you .)

  • @MichaelJHuman you have the wrong yamaha. The DX7 MK2 Can do incredible warm fat analogue type sounds. And futuristic sounds. As well as incomparable BASS and BELL tones. I will upload a demo in february called TIME TRAVELLER to show this. Its time to change a few minds on this digital Vs analogue argument. The DX7 MK2 at its second habd price and supreme reliability is the one to own. I aim to show that soon.

  • Did you use a negative Envelope parameter at the beginning? :) Loved the way it came in

  • Great Demo as usual... A+++

  • sound like Van Halen - 1984

  • I swear (and in spite of all my knowledge which tells me it should not be like this,) digital can't quite replace analog. I know it's a cliche, but I have a Yamaha Motif, and nothing on it sounds like this. You would think it's a simple matter of replicating the waveforms, modeling the filter, and perhaps adding in effects like out of tune oscillators and some analog noise, but I have not really heard it yet...

  • This is such a great sounding synth. Wow. Thx for the demo!

  • this is really AWESOME!!!!! Thanks!!! =0)

  • ZZZZZZzzzzzzeeeeeeeeeeeooooooowwwwwwwwwWWWWWWWwwohoohhhhhwooowwwwhhoooooooooooooowowowowwowwWWOWOOOWWWOOOOWWWWWWWOWWWWWWWWW

  • This sounds like all my favourite synths rolled into one....what a monster, fantastic !!

  • Cue the SBCR sent me here comments

  • Amazing sounds for 1980.

  • @LookAtMyComputer I'd be more worried about the train (band) ads if I were you.

  • Epic!

  • Hi I was wondering if all these patches that you are playing are factory presets or custom patches?

I also have an OB-XA and would love to have the patches that you are playing is there any way you could back them up and email them? I would really appreciate it.

I have tried the one file that is floating on the web for the factory OB-XA patches but unfortunately they don't work.

    Thanks

  • This thing is so fat and poweful that I'm almost scared.

    C.

  • 3:42 to 3:48 Van Halen's Why can't this be love..

  • I bet Vince Clarke has one of these!

  • @TrainmasterCurt vince who...?

  • @noddyspuncture Vince who! You must either be a youngin, or don't know who Depeche Mode or Yazoo or Erasure is

  • Wow, does this bring back alot of memories from 1980.

  • 4:34 my sh 201 has a very similar patch :)

  • Tony Mansfield's New Musik used one of these on their 1981 album, 'Anywhere', a classic early 80's synth pop album.

  • if you can't find the better OB-X, then get an OB-Xa

  • This isn't just fat.....it's OBESE.....and I LOVE it! x Analogue always gets my attention.......

  • @LookAtMyComputer

    ;D sorry

  • the best is the OB-X than the OB-Xa and than the OB-8. OB-X is the fattest of all.

  • @retrosound72 That's your personal opinion, i own them all 3 and i prefer the OB-8 over the OB-X and Xa

  • i have the obx and great !!!! what is ur opinion on the obxa and ob8 ? what is better ???

  • Ok, but it sounds and looks like you´re holding down a chord.

  • @HLontube

sorry no unisono also no layer.

  • The intro sound with portamento you play there, is that the 2 or 4 pole vcf mode? and is it layer mode?

  • @HLontube

    Unisono Mode and 4pole

  • My first vintage Synthesizer is on the way! It's an Oberheim Matrix-6 and it will be "hear" on the 23rd! I'm so excited!

  • Great!!!

    First OB-X, then OB-Xa....right on man !!!

    So MATRIX-12 next :)

    Congratulations!

  • @analogholic

    .....Matrix-1000 !!!! I have one :))

    thank you

  • @retrosound72

What I meant was that your next Oberheim to buy should be the M12 :)

  • Woohoo! This is a definition of PHATT!!!

  • @grauoliv

    :))

  • Oh man!! Wonderful.

  • @stuckdan

    thank you

  • Whoah, this sounds fantastic!

    Great sounds as always!

  • @jezuz12345

  • @retrosound72 no – thank you.

  • Great demo Marko!

The OBXa is a dream synth, but not for us ; )

  • @magevers

  • @mummstylesound

    auf jeden fall!

  • Amazing Marko some of the best sounds yet!!!

  • @Posthuman2003

    thx a lot John :)

  • Another exellent video, Faved!

  • @TheSynthesist94

    thx a lot :)

  • Great synth, but less emotional than minimoog.

  • There is no other synth like OB-X(a). For me, It remains the best synth ever. And this video only confirmed It!

Thx again for another great video where you share your dream synth collection.

  • @JMBZ78

    :)) thanks a lot

  • That's what I call a cool sounding keyboard!

    Thx!!!

  • @Arthur60

    thank you

  • Der Perfekte Begleiter um z.B. SoundFX mit Gänsehautflair zu kreieren. Tolles Teil! Echt ein Diamant.

  • @BaumDerProllige

    ja das ist er! :)

  • Oberknaller ... soviele Assoziationen!

  • @PanicPictures

:)) ....hatte ich auch beim Anspielen.

  • @retrosound72 Wenn das Ding nicht so megateuer wär.

  • @PanicPictures

das größere Problem ist, noch einen Xa in funktionierendem Zustand zu finden. das Teil ist eine ziemliche Mimose wenn es nicht pflegsam behandelt wird.

  • But...you can do EVERYTHING with this! :D

  • @chepossofare

    no ;)

  • das hat von unten rum richtig Dampf und kann richtig auf die Omme geben wie wir in Westfalen sagen. Tolles Instrument. Zum Video muss man ja nix mehr sagen, great as usual :D

  • @EFKA526

Ja, der macht ordentlich Dampf! Da wackeln schon mal die Gläser im Schrank.

    dankeschön :)

  • I WANT ONE NAO!!!

  • A 45 lb board on that dinky stand? Risky business that wobbling. Love the strings, Waiting on part 2.

  • @willrobinsonensoniq

the OB-Xa is really to heavy for my small demo stand.

    thank you

  • Didn't Queen use this in some of their later albums?

  • @douro20

Queen used the OB-X in the Game

  • The Grandmaster strikes back! What a fat sound! :)

  • I didn't know the OBxa had an oscillator sync function??

  • @VacTrooper

yes and the OB`s sync sounds are fantastic

  • You're killing me here. First you manage to find the beautiful, lush, Oberheim OB-X...... and now you've gotten a hold of an Xa? How deep are your freakin' pockets!?

  • @TheSYNTHOID

    hehe

    :))

  • This one is a sexy-synth! :-)

  • @massia68

    yes indeed

  • Geil, der THX-Sound 5:03

  • @darthjack2000

    :)

    danke

  • OBERHEIM FTW!

  • Some chords at 00:50 seem to be from Tangerine Dream, circa 1981-1982 (Thief, Logos, etc). Great demo by the way!

  • @marsupialmicron

    yes a bit :)

    thanks

  • I thought You[Tube] didn't allow porn.

Seriously. I wish I could afford one of these.

  • @pmanderson70

    ;)

I wish you can afford one of these. a fantastic synth!
