this sounds like a rugby team getting fired up, imagine these guys standing across a field doing this to you, you'd just take your sniper out, start firing, and they would run.
@Threepwoodist Good luck with that, back in the days they actually did this there would have been several thousand of them and sniper rifles didn't exist.
Wow that sounded rather weak. I could not see, but those guys could not have been actual Zulu's if so they must have been very young. Wow. That is the first time that I have ever heard a war chant and did not feel a chill. What was missing?
More like lack of any cultural connection to the culture that created the chant. It sounds like when Yanks impersonate Native Americans, It is either lack of cultural connection or even respect for the culture and the spirit of the chant.
Yoz mate these are 18 19 year-old, fresh out of school and who had just completed their 3 months basic military training. Naturally their Zulu chant would be lacking the chilly roar.
@mymarkis666 That is what I wonder are they mocking? It seems so. Just my opinion. If so most unfortunate. Seems like the people there have a bit more to learn.
@mymarkis666 You cannot say that, I am white and I have great respect for other cultures, the problem is that among my fellow Whites there is a form of cowardice where when most Whites see racism just sit there with a dumb look on their face. I am not one of those Whites, if I see or hear stupidity I address it then and there. Not all of us lack character.
@housepate1 I'll rephrase that. The majority of white people have no respect for other peoples cultures. Or atleast, they believe their own culture to be so magnificent and superior to everyone elses.
Reminds me of years ago we were opreparing to Troop The Colors for the Queen Mother and it was HOT so we had an impromptu Zulu Rain Dance on the Parade ground.. Need less to say it didnt work, but was a load of fun trrying,, It was a sort of release of tensions and we were able to get back to the ceremony
I compare this to a comment made about the Rebel Yell of the Civil War:
"It cant be performed properly when you arent in mortal danger and have a belly full of food and are well rested."
