poison flour is literally referring to poison flour. In Jamaica there was an incident were quite a few people died and a lot were poisoned by flour that had been contaminated with insecticide (conspiracy theories about the government trying to kill off rastas but more likely the flour was stored next to the stuff)
@ xwsflassell.....funny, you sound like me and me bredren....@ LRon2009, it was about contaminated flour. COMPACTASS!, just wrong. white guys may be referred to classicly, as snowflake. especially in London slums...well white dreads anyway, but i lived allover JA and hung with tonss of rasta and baldhead Jamaicans, and many of them hated whits skin, and many didn't care...but i NEVER heard any Jamaican refer to any white people as poison flour. maybe i missed it.
@COMPACTASS1 ..according to wiki .."Poison Flour" referenced a recent incident when a number of local Kingstonians had been poisoned by eating bread made with contaminated flour.....My belief is it is a subtle attack on the growth of heroin dealers that sprang up at the time.
It's incredible to me that it was 26 years ago when I saw this album in the record shop, and, never having heard of Dr Alimantado before, I bought it because of the cover and the title. I clearly remember putting it on the deck, and being amazed. Poison Flour and Best Dressed Chicken are 2 of my all-time reggae favourites, the rest of the album is splendid. I then went on to discover Born For A Purpose and Ketch Vampire, also all-time favourites. Best Dressed Chicken in Town. Great title!
If it's not the WMD, it's the chemtrails, if it's not the chemtrails, it's the mobile phone radiation, and if it's not the mobile phone radiation, it's the swine flu, I would say.
thanks for that !

@ima1off It was John Holt and The Paragons - I've Got To Get Away. It's a fat tune - Dennis Brown's version is the best for me though.
