  • American reactors have hydrogen burners in the ceiling. Hydrogen is automatically burned up and it is never allowed to pool in huge concentrations capable of blowing the plant up like the Japanese plants. The fact that the Japanese lacked these simple devices is just criminally stupid.

  • @MrConsumerWhore1 best tech untill now

  • cbs knows that people are looking up all these videos on japan and the tsunami, along with the nuclear powerplant; that's why there's so much advertisements. they're in it for the buck$

  • @ruoni09 obviously they do not have the best safety features,,,,how can they have 3 safety systems that fail - not so safe then is it - I would say that all the damaged reactors are close to meltdown and the pools are boiling ,,,,,and now what, you can't just turn a switch ,,,,its always safe until the day it fails and it took 40 years but now Japan is on the edge of a nuclear disaster, ,,,,,

  • Why do they havew to get a douche bag 'expert' to explain this, I want to smack the guy across the head.

  • food, water, and rescue for japan.

  • we shuold probally make safer energy production instead of nuclear plants. possible options-wind, solar, geothermal, permanate magnet, wireless energy, ...

  • i wonder how bad its got to get in america to stop these stupid comercials hahah

  • 2,000th view! and if they pour sea water in it which has salt in it witch is being used to actually speed up the process of makeing hydrogen and oxygen nobody light a lighter...or a match or KABOOM!

  • So, nuclear fission is a riot of tough guys? Could you dumb that down a little more for me?

  • Fukushima was hit DIRECTLY by TWO of the most powerful natural freaks of nature.

The rods ARE cooling..But like a boiling electric kettle, that turns itself off,,,It is going to hold its heat for some time.

So... One point 9 earthquake. Biggest Tsunami on record. Healthy hydrogen, fuelled by oxygen explosion. Massive logistic problems reaching the site...

And the containment system is still intact, not pumping out radiation.

    Chenobyl, it ain't.

    Logistics nightmare,

    It is.

  • Chenobyl was a graphite moderated system. This suffered a massive power spike. In short, the dry atomic fuel ignited when exposed to oxygen. Heat rises. More heat gains more height . Fukushima are water moderated. The Tsunami probably wiped out the pumping houses. Water, cooling the rods is now not being circulated through the cooling system. Water, when heated to extreme, pressurised, temperature goes through a chemical change. It becomes Hydrogen and Oxygen. This was the Bang!
  • fucking ad's man

  • 1645 views in one day *spits tea out*

  • how can someone like this?

  • the ads that are played. every single one is no use to me what so ever.CBS sucks.

  • @MrConsumerWhore1 I live in America. I don't think I'd say you're 5 years ahead, but Japan and Korea are ahead by a few years.

  • Its already starting to spread marines at sea miles away have already gotten radiation sickness, this will not turn out well

  • yea i know he is an idiot nothing is perfect..

  • This guy is a idiot!!, how can he say that nothing will ever go wrong in the US.. NO ONE CAN PREDICT MOTHER NATURE !!!

  • It would help spread your content online if you allowed embedding. /annoyedblogger.

  • @muma0449

    Um, no. :/

  • if it happens in japan it will happen anywhere....japan has the highest standard and strictest rules in the world, and the best technology

  • @dAbaPEsTA123 Japan come in second with nuclear regulations so US is not that far off.

  • @dAbaPEsTA123 you kidding? highest technology since when?

  • @dAbaPEsTA123 no it won't. learn geology

  • @2two1one0zero There are two nuclear power plants in California that are directly above a fault and +30yrs old. Learn Geology. Japan is the MOST technologically advanced nation in the world (second to the US). If it happens to them, it WILL happen to us.

  • I still support nuclear power, regardless of this.

  • @simba283 Kool-aid drinker

  • @TheVMFA333 Meh. US nuclear regulations are much more strict than they are in Japan. I feel pretty safe.

  • @simba283 By Harvey Wasserman People died---and are still dying---at Three Mile Island. LOOK IT UP! enjoy your kool-aid

  • @TheVMFA333 The effects of radioactive material from 3 mile island had essentially no statistically significant effect on death rates. Neither did the radioactive material from the Chernobyl accident. Why don't you look it up?

  • @simba283 Breaking News: Workers at Japan's damaged nuclear power plant have suspended operations and evacuated, chief Cabinet secretary says. -

  • they also said the titanic was unsinkable .

  • poor japan.

  • @westexchi America too !! WHO WILL BUY OUR Debt now? iceland? lol
