Maybe this game's Roll takes the weapons that Samus gets and stores them away.

That's one of the reasons I liked the Metroid Prime games. They tend to explain why Samus doesn't have all her power-ups. Prime 1, hit by that electricity, Prime 2, they're stolen by Ing, and Prime 3 was that adjusted suit for her to use Hyper Mode... I think.

It is. I got stuck on the Morph Ball part because I didn't think to shoot the rock at my feet. That was silly on my part.
