I don't think Tebow is "playing" christian, its just who he is. I also remember players from Loyola and the Saints in the 80's kneeling on the sidelines after a good play and doing the holy cross.
I think the big difference now is the media is making a big deal out of it.
I think tim tebow is really good. But the truth is. John Elway gave his team a devine faith. He didnt have to bow down and play christian on the field. nooo. He did it for us! the team! the state, And for the game. He was and still is a legend. He isn't playn a christian to make plays happen. He made it happen. And so did the Denver Broncos team who stood by his side. Gooooo Elway! Luv ye, man!!!
There is no reason why John Elway should dislike Tim Tebow if they like game winning touchdown drives.
This tape says they had faith! And everytime they had success and moved the markers their confidence grew. Isn't this the essence opf sports? Isn't this the essemnce of Tim Tebow!
Elway is a legend, Tebow is a poser with the media kissing his ass for a damn 3 yard run. Seriously the media is outrageous. Tim Tebow didn't beat the steelers, the BRONCO'S beat the steelers.
by poser I meant he pretends to be a legend like Elway was, he is too a poser. What football player cries after a loss? Even if it was the national title game, you got to keep your dignity man.
@AvidGamer749 Tebow doesn't pretend to be a legend at all. He is probably the most humble NFL player and ALWAYS credits his team with the victory not himself. Who cries after a loss? Have you ever even played football? It's a very emotional game. I know a lot of players, me included, cried during the senior game back in high school.
Well the media practically portrays him as the very man he worships. I have played 2seasons of football, 6 seasons of soccer and 5 seasons of baseball and never cried unless seriously injured.
@AvidGamer749 You can't blame him for how the media portrays him. I guess you've never put your all, your heart, into the game and lost. Oh well someone needs to warm the bench
Well If the media was kissing my ass 24/7 Id ask them to let up, sure its nice to be famous but you dont want anyone "praising you". Yes I have, I have had huge comebacks, close losses, blowouts, everything and I always put my heart into it; why else play the game?
@AvidGamer749 tim tebow doesn't care what the media says about him. if the media criticizes or praises him, he just doesn't care. (by that i mean does not take it seriously or put it into deep consideration) u know as well as i do that the media will always "trying to kiss ass" to guys like tebow.
BTW I'm so glad John won two Superbowls to end his career. He deserved it more than anyone, the previous three Superbowls he had carried the Broncos on his back with little help. I was so happy that in his two SB wins he had tons of help finally, great receivers, amazing RB, solid defense... Broncos of the late 90's are one of my favorite teams ever. Peyton Manning was the other QB I was happiest to see finally win the big one, they both were so deserving. Great stuff =]
What makes this even more incredible, and what people don't realize, is that the Brown's had two of the top 5 corners in the NFL at the time. Dixon and Minnifield went to the Pro Bowl together 3 YEARS STRAIGHT together, that's a pretty dominant duo of corners there. So not only was John Elway amazing, he did it against an incredible secondary, and had to throw to some of the greatest corners to play. Those two are ranked #2 on NFL's list of best cornerback tandems.
hey i tried to get an autograph from him and i asked please john just 1 autograph and he said i dont do 1 more. a little 7 year old followed him for 30 yards and john elway would not even sign his. what a fag
Alright, this video is really cool, but stop using the word "hero" already. Firefighters and policemen who died on 9/11, for example, are heroes. John Elway was a football player.
@horderulzforever I don't know why I need to "chill out," but you asked me a question and I gave you my answer. As for your second question, it's possible that he's just talking casually and it's possible that he thinks sports are a little more important than what they really are. But unless people give me a reason to think otherwise, I assume they mean what they actually say. I don't know what other approach I'm supposed to take.
@phillyspartanfan "I don't know what other approach I'm supposed to take." It's a SPORTS video talking about a hero so i think it would be heavily implied that they're talking about SPORTS!
@phillyspartanfan Sports brings entertainment, emotion, and happiness to many whose lives are lacking anything resembling joy. To many, sports heroes are real heroes, and Elway was certainly a hero to his teammates and the Broncos fans. He is a role model and a stand up guy, just because he didn't literally save someone's life doesn't devalue his impact on society. I don't care what you think, he is, and always will be, a hero to me.
Now that's what I call a true athlete. An individual who never gave up on his team and lead by example despite the number of ass whoopin he received in the super bowl against the giants 39-20, redskins 42-10 and the 49ers 55-10. Not like LeBron James who quit on his team like a little cry baby.
I'm so mad I lost my Bronco's throwback had. I had that since I was a kid living in Colorado. Now I live in New Jersey and can't find one. Makes me want to cry. One day, I'll buy one of his cars.
Remember Bronco fans, the team you root for illegally manipulated the cap between 96-99 to win its superbowls. Be proud denver fans you root for one of the shadiest franchises in all of sports.
@tomcardello name 2 good players on offence he had in the 80s when he played against teams a million times better than his in the super bowls which is why he has poor ratings. Montana had Clark and Craig in the first 2 super bowls and the greatest wr of all time Jerry Rice, Roger Craig, Tom Rathman, John Taylor endless list so just think about that
@tomcardello Good old Joe dump pass got carried by good teams his entire career Elway was on awful teams and carried them. Elway has more wins and more 4th q comebacks and better stats Joe got lucky being drafted to a team where he could dump pass to great wide outs all day long
@tomcardello That was the 2nd greatest drive ever and that is only because it was in the Super bowl still a amazing drive. If Elway had all these playmakers you will have no trouble naming them. He didnt chock he played amazing in big games except his first 3 superbowl when he had a shit team. 47 career comebacks most in NFL history that is not chocking
"Possibly, no, they were, the weakest team to ever represent the NFC."
With that ridiculous statement, you have lost the right to argue with me. The 14-2 Falcons of the 1998 season aren't even in the top 10 of worst Super Bowl teams. The #1 distinction in that category belongs to the 2006 Chicago Bears.
@tomcardello Ye it was also like -10 degrees, had no play makers on his offence. he did this drive 5 mins with 5:37 on the clock. He is underrated if anything. Greatest drive in NFL history by the greatest QB in NFL history.
No other QB in history could do that drive with that team
Far as I know , the most painful day in Cleveland Brown History. All the way up and including when Model moved them. Those would be 2 worst days, and drafting Courtney Brown would be the third worst day. (lol) Followed by signing Trent Dilfer. I could really go for hours on this, so better stop. Drive - for sure, worst day ever for the Brownies.
@vtmassa I don't know man...Courtney Brown was pretty bad but I think picking Tim Couch when you had McNabb at number 2 (along with players like Edgerrin James, Tory Holt, Champ Bailey etc) was probably worse. I mean really, just the name Couch alone tells the story for you hahaha.
Browns LB Michael Johnson who I believe missed the swat on that touchdown throw, was actually my coach on a little league team, he's extremely humble and a great guy, he tries to keep his great NFL career somewhat hush hush, and never talked about it unless asked. But I'm extremely grateful to have worked with him
"the drive" this it´s not the drive, i mean 6 minutes... the real "drive" belongs to Montana, better example... the last comback from Joe, against elway, right in "the mile" stadium, who was the winner ???? the real master of comeback... Joe Cool, the golden great, sweet sixten, Joe Montana
"the drive" this it´s not the drive 6 minutes... the real "drive" belongs to Montana, better example... the last comback from Joe, against elway, right in "the mile" stadium, who was the winner ???? the real master of comeback... Joe Cool, the golden great, sweet sixten, Joe Montana
@tomcardello Clevelands D in the 80s in Cleveland was just as good as the Bengals if not better. You want to watch leadership and watch will to win and take his team on his back watch 3rd and 7 superbowl 32 that shows everything about Elway he wanted to win and even at that age was going to put his team on his back when they needed him to and win it. at the end of the day Elway has more Wins then Joe better stats and more 4thq comebacks while playing on a far worse team
@tomcardello You do know football is a team game and look at all of Elways superbowls but 32 and 33 and you will see he got sacked constantly and had no one to throw to in those superbowl a comic in the 89 denver post couldnt have put it better it showed john elway alone and below it it said the 1989 superbowl team. At the end of the day Elway is the 2nd most winnigest Qb in NFL history 2nd in 4th q comebacks and top 5 in every other statistic and when he finally had some talent around him
Wait, we're calling Elway a choker after he drove 98 yards in the AFC Championship game? I can see we've got some top NFL analysts discussing this video.
@tomcardello Ohh lets talk about who ELway spent the majority of his career with Sammie Winer Vance Johnson Mark Jackson ohh that is some big time talent on offense right there. Lets see Montana Dwight Clark Jerry Rice John Taylor Roger Craig. Ohh and then Montanas defenses were ridiculous. Lott Millen Reynolds Dean. Who did Elway have on his defense a bunch of Nobodies and Karl Mecklenberg. You give Elway the 1980s 9ers around him they might have had 6 rings in just the 80s
@tomcardello And there Teams were far better on both sides of the ball you put Montana in Denver with that terrible line and vance johnson he would be eating through a tube. And explain this why does Elway have more wins then any other Qb besides favre and favre played 3 more years then Elway. If you wanna talk overrated lets talk Montana. Dink and Dunk offense with the greatest coach and receiver ever and one of the greatest defenses ever.
@tomcardello Yea even though in his final superbowl he was mvp with 300 yards passing or the fact hes in top 5 for every passing category playing for Runs first dan Reeves most of his career and has the most 4th quarter comebacks of any quarterback. You sir are retarded
@tomcardello (continuing) You can spin it however you like, but in this game and in his Super Bowl wins, the facts are that he made plays and helped lead his team to victory. There's no way he's more overrated than Dan Fouts, who did nothing before the Air Coryell receiving corps came into play. He had only eight less interceptions than touchdowns and a winning percentage barely above .500. Elway's is fairly high, at .643. Sorry, but he was good. Far from "most overrated of all time".
You could make that argument for his first Super Bowl win. Not for the second, for which he was named MVP of the game. Even then, Elway certainly had an impact in their Super Bowl win. It comes down to more than statistics. Remember that helicopter run of his? He did what he needed to do. And what's your point about the sacks? Yeah, he's #2 all-time. So? Is he required to be sacked a certain amount of times in a game? If there was no pressure, he shouldn't have been sacked.
My son was born on that day. I watched it in the hospital with the sound off so as not to wake up the wife who had been through 40 hours of labor. So I have font memories of this game.
1. There were 5 minutes left on the clock. Still plenty of time, but 98 yards is a lot. One foul-up and they have to punt it back or, depending on the time, go for it on 4th down. It was never necessary.
2. Elway was clearly sacked in the middle of that drive. Are you high?
The best post season drive ever.I don't wanna hear about the Giants,Patriots,49ers.This was bigger simply because of the way it happened, how far they had to go,the bad weather, and what amazed me the most was how Elway was able to do that in that loud environment. That was amazing.John Elway did something that no one ever thought could happen. And he did it with less weapons than guys like Montana had too.So that's why I put it ahead of Joe.
What no one remembers is that he had 5 minutes to work with. Its easier to get a td with that much time as opposed to getting a fg with , say, less than a minute.
@hoison68 I beg to differ, especially at that time, on the 2 mf'ing yard line, in the "dawg pound", I remember what it was like in Cleveland, those fans were rough, one of the MOST impressive drives of all time, and HAVING to score a TD against a great defense like the Browns had, is more difficult than having to go say 60 yards for a FG attempt.
yeah your nuts, elway was an excellent qb, he took those teams in the 1980s to superbowls with minimal talent around him and he finally capitalized in 97 and 98 when he had a running game and a defense.
@charger619c Mr. charger619c, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
@charger619c You are a huge idiot! Even before Elway won two Super Bowls, he took three teams to the Super Bowl with NO HELP. Rivers cry baby fucking ass has had a HOF RB, an excellent O line, and good WRs throughout his career so far. And yet, has his whining ass taken a team to the Super Bowl. He has even been given good Defenses to help him out. There has never been a great QB than John Elway. There is no way Rivers will have more championships than Elway.
@charger619c His cock suck ass wont even achieve 5 Super Bowl appearances. Cry baby Rivers!! Cry you fuck!! By the way, there is no doubt he loves cock in his mouth! But then again, which Charger doesnt???
I cant imagine were denver would be if he was under center tody with brandon lloyd and demaryius thomas, not to mention denvers PA is already good and Elway had a great play action.
@Clevelands216Finest hey there we go i thought maybe you were slipping a " MOM " joke . The typical cleveland cut down. What are you like 10 years old?Just another good example of the drop out rate in cleveland schools being the worst in the state
@roccet2115 where you from? shittsburg? home of the inbred and ku klux klan. it looks like you're the one with the bad school system with that shit grammar, are you a 47 year old hillbilly?
typical pussy internet nerd running his mouth over the net like a coward instead of being about what they preach, cause you know what would happen if anyone got their hands on your in the real. you're pathetic and it shines.

EazyESJC82288 9 months ago
@tomcardello
"Possibly, no, they were, the weakest team to ever represent the NFC."
With that ridiculous statement, you have lost the right to argue with me. The 14-2 Falcons of the 1998 season aren't even in the top 10 of worst Super Bowl teams. The #1 distinction in that category belongs to the 2006 Chicago Bears.

i poured john elway a glass of water at a banquet no joke. i didn't really talk to him cause there was a speaker
Killinemdead1 10 months ago

Drive - for sure, worst day ever for the Brownies.
vtmassa 11 months ago
@vtmassa I don't know man...Courtney Brown was pretty bad but I think picking Tim Couch when you had McNabb at number 2 (along with players like Edgerrin James, Tory Holt, Champ Bailey etc) was probably worse. I mean really, just the name Couch alone tells the story for you hahaha.

John Elway, along with Dan Marino, run overall the best drives ever.

Great QB!!!!

@tomcardello also dont give me the superbowl rings garbage because that means brad johnson and trent dilfer are both better then Marino
sarge1445 1 year ago
@tomcardello Clevelands D in the 80s in Cleveland was just as good as the Bengals if not better. You want to watch leadership and watch will to win and take his team on his back watch 3rd and 7 superbowl 32 that shows everything about Elway he wanted to win and even at that age was going to put his team on his back when they needed him to and win it. at the end of the day Elway has more Wins then Joe better stats and more 4thq comebacks while playing on a far worse team

@tomcardello he finally got his rings what did Joe do on the Chiefs 1 afc championship game visit atta way to get it done without stacked teams joe
sarge1445 1 year ago
@tomcardello You do know football is a team game and look at all of Elways superbowls but 32 and 33 and you will see he got sacked constantly and had no one to throw to in those superbowl a comic in the 89 denver post couldnt have put it better it showed john elway alone and below it it said the 1989 superbowl team. At the end of the day Elway is the 2nd most winnigest Qb in NFL history 2nd in 4th q comebacks and top 5 in every other statistic and when he finally had some talent around him
sarge1445 1 year ago

You give Elway the 1980s 9ers around him they might have had 6 rings in just the 80s
sarge1445 1 year ago
@tomcardello And there Teams were far better on both sides of the ball you put Montana in Denver with that terrible line and vance johnson he would be eating through a tube. And explain this why does Elway have more wins then any other Qb besides favre and favre played 3 more years then Elway. If you wanna talk overrated lets talk Montana. Dink and Dunk offense with the greatest coach and receiver ever and one of the greatest defenses ever.
sarge1445 1 year ago
@tomcardello Yea even though in his final superbowl he was mvp with 300 yards passing or the fact hes in top 5 for every passing category playing for Runs first dan Reeves most of his career and has the most 4th quarter comebacks of any quarterback. You sir are retarded
sarge1445 1 year ago
@tomcardello (continuing) You can spin it however you like, but in this game and in his Super Bowl wins, the facts are that he made plays and helped lead his team to victory. There's no way he's more overrated than Dan Fouts, who did nothing before the Air Coryell receiving corps came into play. He had only eight less interceptions than touchdowns and a winning percentage barely above .500. Elway's is fairly high, at .643. Sorry, but he was good. Far from "most overrated of all time".
TrueScar 1 year ago
@tomcardello
TrueScar 1 year ago
My son was born on that day. I watched it in the hospital with the sound off so as not to wake up the wife who had been through 40 hours of labor. So I have font memories of this game.
boomboomdrums 1 year ago
@tomcardello It was a great drive, if it wasn't why would you even have searched for or watched this video?
SS2IRYSHE 1 year ago
@tomcardello Did you even watch this video?
1. There were 5 minutes left on the clock. Still plenty of time, but 98 yards is a lot. One foul-up and they have to punt it back or, depending on the time, go for it on 4th down. It was never necessary.
2. Elway was clearly sacked in the middle of that drive. Are you high?
p.s. Elway won two Super Bowls.
The most overrated QB of all-time was Dan Fouts.

Coreytatum16 1 year ago
The best post season drive ever.I don't wanna hear about the Giants,Patriots,49ers.This was bigger simply because of the way it happened, how far they had to go,the bad weather, and what amazed me the most was how Elway was able to do that in that loud environment. That was amazing.John Elway did something that no one ever thought could happen. And he did it with less weapons than guys like Montana had too.So that's why I put it ahead of Joe.

1904home 1 year ago
What no one remembers is that he had 5 minutes to work with. Its easier to get a td with that much time as opposed to getting a fg with , say, less than a minute.
hoison68 1 year ago
@hoison68 I beg to differ, especially at that time, on the 2 mf'ing yard line, in the "dawg pound", I remember what it was like in Cleveland, those fans were rough, one of the MOST impressive drives of all time, and HAVING to score a TD against a great defense like the Browns had, is more difficult than having to go say 60 yards for a FG attempt.
mrmojow 1 year ago
@charger619c
yeah your nuts, elway was an excellent qb, he took those teams in the 1980s to superbowls with minimal talent around him and he finally capitalized in 97 and 98 when he had a running game and a defense.
firstbaseman16 1 year ago
Philip Rivers is twice the qb that Elway is, and he will have more championships than elway did at the end of his career

At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
aliveguy69 1 year ago
@charger619c You are a huge idiot! Even before Elway won two Super Bowls, he took three teams to the Super Bowl with NO HELP. Rivers cry baby fucking ass has had a HOF RB, an excellent O line, and good WRs throughout his career so far. And yet, has his whining ass taken a team to the Super Bowl. He has even been given good Defenses to help him out. There has never been a great QB than John Elway. There is no way Rivers will have more championships than Elway.
aliveguy69 1 year ago
@charger619c His cock suck ass wont even achieve 5 Super Bowl appearances. Cry baby Rivers!! Cry you fuck!! By the way, there is no doubt he loves cock in his mouth! But then again, which Charger doesnt???
