you should also take into consideration that each motor is HAND built, so power numbers vary per car..... i've personally seen some dyno 430hp at the wheels and other at 480hp.

And the 2008 model years had launch control.... AWD with launch control = easy 11's. 2009's didnt have LC, but the tranny ECU had some reprogramming and the cars still pulled 11's...... and the new 2011's will have LC and 0-60 times have already been released....

FYI to anybody watchin this video. I work on GTR's at Nissan and the powertrain loss is under 10% because the transmission is a masterpiece. Plus it was way too early to be doing DYNOs on this car because they don't know shit about the car. The car has slightly less than 480HP but the powerplant and the transmission is so flawless it's quicker than what the numbers show. It's a conspiracy!!!!!!!

The car HP varies due to the method of how the engine and transmission are made.

Nissan had an interviewed in Japan and said all their GTR's engine are built in a container that has no air or pressure (air or pressure can compress metals causing decreased perfomance).

So every car HP comes out differently. Also Nissan commented on the fact that the transmission box is custom made to EACH NIssan GTR (meaning one GTR trans box cannot be used on a second GTR).

No test is accurate for the GTR. Nissan has claimed it and presented the manufacture of this car. Everything is custom made. The engines are built in a confined space and pressure is eliminated to prevent metal deformaties that can cause decrease performance.

The tranny is custom built for each GTR, so GTR A tranny cannot be used in GTR B.

And every GTR outcome is different is because of how Nissan tailored the manufacturing process.

Also, muscle cars serve for a different type of crowd, unlike the gtr. A gtr accelerating from 0-60 in 3.5 seconds would be no where near as fun to the muscle car crowd as a muscle car doing the same and spinning the tires throughout.

in a car with a turbocharged engine the slight variance in boost can make a significant difference in dyno ratings. The very similar twin turbo 6 in the bmw 335i has also been known to dyno at varying output levels. Even the slightest variation in boost psi can make a significant diff. So the handmade statement is not exactly crap in the instance of turbocharged vs. naturally aspirated engines.

The engines are not handmade they are hand assembled. All the parts still come of the same factory line so all the parts will be exactly the same. All the technitions are doing up nuts and bolts, and its pretty hard to fuck that up when they are all tourqed.

I think the reason why Nissan tells a diff story about their godzilla is for legal purposes in japan. B4 Japan wasn't allowed to produce any car over 300 hp..they told a diff story about ever car over that 300 mark like the supra twin turbo. I'm not sure why people are trying to measure the exact power of this car. It is a fantastic example of engineering and mechanics. Each engine is hand-built so power will vary (probably not incredibly significantly) between individual cars. It is a new benchmark for technology and what is possible in the world of performance vehicles. Truly astounding.
