I don't care what anyone says- Nobody has EVER come as close to inflicting so much emotion on their listeners as Pink Floyd has. I rarely cry but I actually teared a bit listening to this song a long time ago.

I'd give anything to see them live. I saw roger waters live and even then, it was one of the best concerts I ever went to. But I can only dream of how amazing Pink Floyd is up on stage in person.

The Beatles had The Long and Winding Road, Floyd has High Hopes. Great song and great way to end an era in music nobody should forget. The name just says it all. Great ending with the See Emily Play allusion (if you hadn't noticed.) Stellar guitar, mournful piano, and echoing percussion. A masterpiece, often going unrecognized!

The Beatles ended with the Golden Slumbers Medley as Pink Floyd did with High Hopes, Queen with The Show Must Go On, Dennis DeYoung era Styx with Goodbye Roseland, Led Zeppelin with I'm Gonna Crawl, Roger Hodgson led Supertramp with Don't Leave Me Now and the Phil Collins era of Genesis with Fading Lights. Those are the proper send offs for great legends. High Hopes didn't intend to be PF's last track but as recent events folded (DG's family expanding and RWright's death), PF ended with a BANG!

Ha, yeah. I disagree on The Beatles thing though. Although I understand that technically the medley was recorded after most of Let It Be, but my pint was that both High Hopes and Long and Winding Road were both some of each respective band's greatest songs, both were on their last album released while their bands were still together, and were both somber and sad. You are obviously very knowledgeable on your music history, though. Props!

Let it Be came out after The Beatles split up. Some Beatle fans call Abbey Road the swan song and others give the honor to Let it Be. I agree that The Division Bell, Innuendo, We Can't Dance, ...Famous Last Words... and In Through the Out Door were ace final albums from either any band's classic lineup (Genesis, Queen, Supertramp) or final album altogether (Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin). I remember when TDB came out, I was a senior in High School and I saw PF at Foxboro Stadium in May, 1994
