Re: 6:30 - yeah, I had the same experience back in those days too. It was my turn to get up and play, Phil handed me his guitar, I strum a few chords and say "uh, what happened to the sound?". On top of that, the strings were so heavy (like, 11-52) and the action was quite high. It's all in the hands ... and in your heart.
lol the story about the pedals not working and having no overdrive pedal at the gig is hilarious! I had the same exact thing happen to me at a gig it all worked out for the best but the second before the first song is the scariest thing in the world lol
Lou, man, thanks for doing this interview with Phil, It's great! I told you about that Drop Tune six months ago! You hadn't heard of it yet. I tried it at Rudy's Music in NYC and I definitely heard some warble after the frst couple cycles down. It sounds like an overdriven bass when it's on the lowest increment! Maybe I was doing something wrong but it didn't sound usable past the first drop to me.
i ve been a musician all my life and i dont have a fucking clue what they are talking about

Hey thanks for the interview, Very interesting
I had a question, you both like the bad monkey alot (me 2) but it's far from true bypass, isn't that a problem for you when playing life and stuff?
Or do you have it in a seperate loop or something?
