  • no gorf no phoenix no mike tysons punch out

  • Sega's games were kinda 5 years in advance comparing to the other games :p

  • Uh-oh...the Final Countdown? You totally ruined everything there. How do you go from Queen - perhaps the best rock back ever to Europe? Damn, that is just wrong and awful!

  • @DickLodge68 - That is the best sond "Europe" ever did! It is a great song!

  • @cloudsoflace2005 If you say so...I thought Europe was awful!

  • Wow thank you so much! The Game by Queen! I remember playing that album while playing Atari's Adventure. Dragon Attack! You nailed it!

  • Totally awesome video, these were the times....

  • great games, great tunes, great video. thanx!!!!!!

  • Hate to be a nag but you goofed: Asteroids Deluxe is not Asteroids

  • Very sweet skeleton081983 as a quarter geek, growing up in this era, its fun to see again, all those games I would go spend money on and play, thinking they were the hottest thing ever, or waiting for the next development. Then the consoles, and the advancements of PC gaming to where we are now. Just amazing thanks for the memories and the reminder of why I'm still in this industry.

  • lots of discrete logic arcades missing, the bad side of emulator-videos only

  • tears

  • What was the name of the first song by Queen?

  • @Brenzilla4698

Play The Game from their album The Game. Excellent stuff!

  • cool last song! what is it?

  • @felipebrasil5 It is off the game Outrun. It plays when you enter your name on the high score screen.

  • buona parte di questi giochi li ho giocati su C64, alcuni su Amiga. Splatterhouse l'avevo giocato su quella specie di Game & Watch che c'era all'epoca, bellissimo

  • Nice one...Many happy memories of my childhood, thank you for your video :-)

  • Great games. I can't say memories because I play these video games very often. The music for a moment made me think I was back in the arcades with my friends, dreaming of someday have some of those machines at home, or that our video games at home had those kind of graphics and sounds!!! times of playing computer games with the Spectrum 48 k, I think 16 or 32 colors max, and that was advanced with the previous generation of video games - GREAT GAMES, great VIDEO!!!

  • i got a pacman machine from craigslist for $350

  • Thank you for the memories... sometimes, it makes me cry a lot...I miss this good times...

  • Good memories!!! Thanks

  • Thanks mate, I had a great 10 mins there... :)

  • loved the first song, it went real well with the vid.

  • Thanks for the amazing video (save for the over-compressed keyboard ditty at the end???)! Not only a great blast from the past, now that I've been reminded of some of these, I can go find the mame versions of these and play them on my mac!

  • "save for the over-compressed keyboard ditty", don't you realise what that was!? :-0. That was an inspired musical ending to the vid Skeleton - great choice.

  • it not called "hard driven" it called "race driven"And some titles are wrong

  • You absolute fucking moron - it is "Race Drivin'". There isn't even a fucking game called "Race Driven". And no one said "Race drivEn" in the first place. Fuck, I would bitch-slap you if I was next to you right now.

  • Man that video made me emotional! My mis-spent youth!! Loved these games right from the start.

  • Oh Battle Zone! How great was that game!!!

  • Can anyone tell me the name of the second song he is playing on here. I am not familiar with the 80's even though I grew up during this time. I like the second song a lot. Thank you.

  • The Final Countdown - Europe (1986)

  • Yes you can get an emulator. MAME is the most common one i think. there are stacks of sites like romnation where you can download MAME onto your PC. after that it is simply a case of downloading each game that you want to play. BTW downloading games in this fashion is illegal unless you already own a copy of the game

  • yeah, but they never find out.. LOL unless they come read this youtube page

  • awesome!! But no Dragon's Lair or Golden Axe?

  • Beautiful :) I was feeling down but now I feel much better. Thank you :D

  • After about 1985 just about all the games do not compare to the games of the early 80's. No wonder the arcade craze faded away.

  • You can't possibly be serious - the more than obvious bests of the bunch were between '87 and '90.

  • I meant to type HARD drivin' not RACE drivin'

  • Space Harrier was ahead of it's time in it's day...

  • AWESOME!!!

  • I used to travel a lot as a kid athlete and I can still remember which venues had which games. Arcade games used to be everywhere. I never really got excited to see all of the places or to compete, just to play the different arcade games. Arcade games suck now because they cost so much to play and aren't even as good as console or PC games. MAME is awesome.

  • wow this is really cool man.i run mame and will be adding a few to my collection.

    thank u very much

    ^_^

  • the games that amazes me the most in 80s games are the pseudo 3D ones, I am amazed at how they tried to make something looks 3D back then, even if with today standards it doesn't always look good

  • Damn if I could have all the quarters I spent on these games back + inflation - I would probably be a millionaire. :)
