  • The music in the opening credit is the same one that would play over the loudspeakers at the Eau Claire library to let us know it was closing. Thanks for the nostalgia trip in addition to the informative video!

  • @GeoMcEvan I smell a bio-pic!

  • lol cheesy but well done

  • great vid.

  • Just watched the video as a requirement of my Masters Degree/Psychology. So this is what "docochs" used for PhD requirements? How did that work for you?

What school did you earn your PhD from, no offense intended, just curious as I need to earn my PhD as well in order to counsel other veterans with PTSD.

  • @lizlmt This was a presentation to the class on a psychology theory. The three of us got together to create a video to teach this theory by presenting it through social networks. A class presentation would have been forgotten, but this has been teaching others for the past 3 years to over 42,000 people. I received my EdD from Arizona State University. My dissertation was on didactic movie making and how it effects teaching science and 21st century learning skills. Good luck. on your degree.

  • Interesting Video!

helps me a lot... kinda missed the class about Bandura xD

  • while it is good to go to class, socially learning can be just as valid. Glad it helped!

  • Gouda, Swiss or American Cheese? If it was too serious it would be boring...But we all have different schemas to connect with for humor.

  • Your Welcome!

  • Thanks

  • That was the video I needed to complete one of the requirements for the final exam in the class Advanced Psychology of Learning.

    Thank you.

  • Excellent! Glad to see Technology Social Learning in practice! I hope you do well in the class!

  • I don't think a commercial is the best example of social learning.

  • I can't believe that I'm commenting to holy Jesus! I agree that it may not be the best "good" example, however what influences society on a grander scale than the bombardment of commercials in our society. Plus teaching a 5 minute lesson, with a 30 second commercial was more feasible than using a 2 hour movie example.

  • The commercial makes way more sense as an example of classical conditioning (pairing an unconditioned stimulus with a neutral stimulus) to produce the new conditioned stimulus of being thirsty while playing pacman and having fun.

Social learning deals primarily with observing other human beings, which pacman is not.

  • new conditioned response rather

  • Interesting point. However, I understand what you mean that social learning is observing other human beings. If we play a video game by yourself that is not social learning. However isn't that the same as the child playing with a bobo doll in a room by themself? Its just a doll. The whole Bandura experiment was based on kids watching a movie and displaying behavior changes in a play room.

  • What part of pop culture does bobo represent?

  • maybe add something on media violence and how Bandura's studies support the idea of media violence causing violence?

  • Great idea, but we did not want the video to go too long. That would definitely be another angle to look at how the media take on violence can advocate violence on who watches it.

  • very educational.

  • loved your video. the 7-up commercial was my favorite!!

  • Very interesting and educational!

  • Very interesting. I was able to apply the theory to my own upbring and current work setting. I think this will help me in my own employment in dealing with groups of adults. Good job.

  • I agree with that arizonadad guy. I learned more about that Bandura dude in that 5 min youtube video than I did in all my previous 47 years of existence. Although, I now have the urge to go beat up clowns. Weird, huh?

  • In order for social learning to take place, we need more social interaction. Use the blog and comments to let us know what you learned, and what you know, so that you can model good learning to us!

  • I learned a lot about Bandura and Social Learning in that short little video. Good job. Best of luck in your studies. You must have made a great team!

  • Wow! Amazing!!!!
