Really fantastic job! Charcoal is one of my favorite mediums above all else. You just can't get that fantastic contrast with anything else. It looks like a lot of fun to be able to do this on such a large scale, awesome awesome job!

What I've found is that when drawing or painting a person, it never has to look absolutely identical to that person to look good (I've never seen a drawing that is), but it just has to have a certain quality, aspect, look, essence, whatever you want to call it, that people will recognise when looking at the original person. It's difficult because you can rarely see what that thing is, even when you've successfully achieved it, but you sir, achieve it with everything you draw. Bravo.

@MsJezzabelle1 I never got this "talent" concept. If people learn a lot of maths and know it well, it's skill. If they put in the work and learn drawing or painting, it's "talent" :)

That Natural part is what I don't much agree with. The implication is that the artist just woke up with skill one day, straight out of the box. IMO with drawing, as with most things it's at least 80% study and practice, if not more.

Anyway you are likely to hear A LOT about talent for drawing and very little about all other sciences. IMO just laziness, cause everyone can learn the skill

I don't think anyone could just instantly be wonderful at drawing from the second they're born, but there are people who are naturally better at it then others. Just like some people are naturally better at writing poetry, or better at doing math, or pole vaulting.

For math people acknowledge it, same for sports chess or physics. Just when it comes to drawing/painting, people refer to talent as if it's the deciding factor, when in reality it isn't.

The pro without talent will always be miles ahead of the amateur with natural talent. Drawing is a skill, and like all others, takes work to master.
