I've personally heard 2:1 (various races, not just white) calling for tougher punishments and harsher policing, though they tend to be the most vocal so I don't know if they are representative. I imagine in the poorer neighbourhoods of London police have stepped up their presence.

@SomeReefer I only spent time in Central London - zone 1 on a tube map. Didn't feel any tensions, cohesion might have actually improved as communities had to pull together out of necessity. I've personally heard 2:1 (various races, not just white) calling for tougher punishments and harsher policing, though they tend to be the most vocal so I don't know if they are representative. I imagine in the poorer neighbourhoods of London police have stepped up their presence.

Let me clarify the situation. I am UK citizen and have witnessed the riots occurring first hand.
1) The riots had nothing to do with race, the rioters have been young kids of all races mainly from deeply impoverished backgrounds.
