This is interesting. My name is Solstice, and I was born on the summer solstice in '79 and named for the day.
My father, Richard, is a classical guitarist/teacher. He wrote a piece in C major that day called Solstice, for his first born son (me :P). When I first saw this link, I thought you were him.
I'll urge him to post a performance of it. It's a beautiful piece... popular at the conservatory in Victoria BC.
Very interesting indeed... I wrote the second movement, "Summer", when I was living on San Juan Island, WA. Victoria is only six miles away, across Haro Strait, and in view from where I was living at the time. BTW, Happy Birthday Solstice!
