There isn't anything wrong with being selfish itself, as long as it's balanced. Greed is being selfish without bounds of any sort. Sometimes being a bit selfish is necessary simply to survive. It's always more complicated than simply black and white, it's a gray area issue.

@doarner Captain Marvel doesn't age, in fact if you watch this short, Black Adam had lived thousands of years by staying in hi powered form but when he revert to his mortal form he age all those years in an instant and dies, an older Billy would just become older than the Captain itself but the captain form would stay the same unless Billy want it otherwise
