@SKiPPY3553 It sounds way better with an english horn, if that was indeed a french horn. (I am unable to hear properly... it was pretty muffled) And the soloist wasn't particularly expressive, on top of lacking in tone quality.

I know that video recordings like this aren't favorable for the low brass sounds, but PLAY OUT EUPHONIUMS! Haha. I played euph on this song my senior year of high school. I loved it. You did pretty well on this!

When my band at school played this the director tried it in a whole lot of different tempos to see which one was the best sounding. Of course, the players prefered it slowed down at the beginning, but the director made it just a little slower than this. I totally agree with him, it does sound good now, but better that way.

I kinda like the tempo fast, but this felt rather inconsistent. That the whole band couldn't stay together in front of the beat is quite a let down.

im playing this song for state and it is hard especialyy dutring the SLOW parts btw it is way to darn fast the slow and lyrical stuff is marrked legato and has ritards for a reason..it is very impressive u can play this fast...is the lighting really that red?

Not quite. It's scored 88-92 bpm... this is closer to 98. Not a huge difference, and there's an artistic case to be made for this tempo, but you can't say it's what's written.

i have played this in high school, i am now a music ed major in college, and i must say the tempo is just a little fast, but you handle the tempo quite well. i am impressed with the first and third movements, however the second is lacking emotion. and your horns need to play with more fortitude and in tune...the whole fortitude thing will help that. all in all good job.
