  • guys i have a gma graphics card and i am on a netbook with 1.6 ghz processor and 1gb ram and it runs on low settings. it lags a bit but it is really playable

  • @XDarkcrystal I had even an older one, radeonx700 64MB only and it ran for like 30fps on 800x600 resolution

  • I have intel hd graphics family and i can run the orange box perfectly.

  • Half-life 2 doesn't demand much..

A pc like that one (ATI Radeon 9550SE 128MB DDR2

    Pentium 4 2.4Ghz

1 GB of RAM) can easily run the old source engine.. My old Nvidia 7200GS could run every source game..

  • i used to play this game with a pentium celeron 2.2, 1Gb ram and ATI Radeon S9250 256mb DDR

  • The game still looks great.

  • dude, im so jealous, how did u manage to run the game so smoothly?

  • @yiffmaster9000 if you still can't run this game smoothly you obviously have a sincerely seriously bad computer you dumb ass what the fuck did you expect look at what this guy has jesus christ learn how to upgrade

  • Use to play it with a radeon 9250.

  • @okiedouk same here

  • FRAPS 3 - THE FRAPSENING

  • Amazingly it still looks pretty good. For such an old game. Suppose you can blame that on ever decreasing returns in the graphics department.

  • :|

My old laptop could'nt even play hl2

:P 256 mb some intel integrated shit

  • lol this game is weak sauce on graphics i ran mine with 512 ram and a 64meg graphics card

  • hard to believe how far graphics have come

  • @spencegame Ain't it?

  • my computer have these graphics T_T

  • unfortunately, this looks bloody incredible compared to the lovely onboard video on my pc. I'd cry tears of joy to have a game look like this.

  • radeon x300 its a piece of shit and i run hl2 on like 60fps

  • @McdonaldsHashbrown better then not ever having a 3d capable vga card like i didnt have in my first computer,

  • well i have 512ram and 16mb video (you are like WTF?) and episode 1 is working with all graphic at max with 20-23 if i use fraps and episode 2 is working with graphic at max with like 13-17....you wont belive but i tryed Armed assault (ARMA) on this lame laptop and with all graphic at minim and 640 480 it was working with 6-7 fps (i used swift shader)

  • Ahh the 9550. This just reminded of my first card 3DFX Voodoo 3 3000

  • Comment removed

  • Your video card came out the same year as Half-Life 2. You might as well talk about how astonishing it is that your ancient Pentium II system can run Doom II.

  • how does my half-life look better than this and i dont have a video card?

  • Here's the cool thing: even though HL2 has the capacity to look brilliant with a great card, it'll still run fine and look decent on an outdated one.

  • I'm playing HL2 without graphic card lul

  • I've played HL2 on a GeForce 2 MX400 which is a Direct X 7 card, when it came out. There were no reflections, graphic effects whatsoever, just because I wanted to play it so badly. Now that's what I call an ancient card

  • @Patres87 GeForce 2. Lol. I remember playing games on a 3Dfx VooDoo. Now THAT'S ancient

  • @Patres87 i used to have that graphic card....lol

  • I still use a pent 4.......

  • try an ATI RADEON 9000 PRO 64MB DDR

  • It looks good?

  • What song is this?

  • I can play half life on my xbox too :)

  • I REFUSE TO WATCH IN HIGH QUALITY

  • nice porn music

  • this actually isnt bad

  • my 5200 128MB played this fine

  • 0:02 AWWWWW MY FREAKING BALLS

  • its not ancient gpu. the serious logic card is xD im glad i dont run it. i got pci-e

  • Is it bad that after watching this, my first reaction was "Wow, these graphics look pretty good"?

  • lucky you, i can't run any half life/valve games at all :(

  • damn i remember playing hl2 on a computer that had a factory overclocked intel celeron and a radeon 9100 64mb pci card XD with playable fps

  • I have identical specs (P4 2.4 GHz, ATI Radeon 9550 128 MB and 2 GB RAM) and Day of Defeat: Source runs horribly even with low details at 640x480. What gives?

  • looks like dx70

  • Meh, at least you don't lag with that card, and you're recording. My graphics card sucks and it lags a lot in open areas in the pirated game. When I got it off Steam it doesn't even work.

  • i have that card atm stupid AGP :P

  • I played TF2 once with an even worse graphics card. (Crap Laptop ^^)

  • Wow, i used to have an intel chipset, i currently have an ati 5770 in my laptop, and i'm getting dual 570gtx, i7, and 12 gb RAM for my birthday in march :)

  • better than mine my has no grapics card

  • @masgoku not true, how the fuck are you seeing this video then?

  • @blackandwhitepro34 Internal Video hardware. Do a bit of research before you ask dumb questions :D

  • half life 2 is like, the best scaled pc game ever. Looks wonderful on good systems, and can be played with stuff that's older than my 14 year old son.

  • dude i play with the 9200's with half life just fine

  • looks like it runs fairly well, given the specs. bet it runs almost perfect without fraps running in the background

  • It looks like what it did in my old computer.... *looks at your specs*

It IS just like my old computer! Only my card was nVidia....

  • Just goes to show that good coding is good coding :)

  • Lulz i could play hl2 on an old geforce mx400 with 64mb of video memory and a p4 1.8Ghz cpu along with just 256mb ram. But not when they updated the engine it became too laggy,

  • @jaeskill Normally I would thumbs down comments like yours, but that one actually works.

  • is that windows xp?

  • is that garrys mod?

  • That´s one of the thousand good things of half life, it´s graphics are great and are easy to run

  • that graphic card really isnt that bad... XD

  • I played Half Life 2 first on Nvidia GF4 MX. Later I bought Radeon 9500. Radeon 9500 was not bad card. In my opinion better than GF3 Ti.

  • To be honest, my graphics card is worse than this :(

  • i dont think its good that my computer looks just like this o_o

  • i remember that graphics card, too bad when i was changing them my pet dinosaur stepped on it and broke it.

  • can this could be played on my computer (should i upgrading my computer or what?)

    specs:

    Celeron D 2.6.GHZ

    2 GB RAM

512 mb Nvidia 6200 GPU card

    Windows 7 - 64 bit

    1 TB Harddrive

  • @HamstyProductions I ran mine on a centrino 1.86 ghz, 1gb RAM, and 64 Video MB RAM, so maybe it can run it properly, especially with your vga card.

  • The 9550 wasn't a bad card when this game came out, it's not surprising it runs it fairly well. A 9800 was more than enough to run it on full settings.

  • At least the fps is nice. :D

  • stil runs better than mine

  • And it stil looks nice.

  • WAT? My computer (Radeon 9550, AMD Sempron 2800+(1.6 GHz) and 1 GB RAM) runs Portal 2 in 1680x1050 res. , 16x Anisotropic and 4x antialiasing. 30-35 fps and no freezes

    What i'm doing wrong?

  • @GradientPain showing off, but its sad how your computer is nothing close to mine, baby. GTX 590(3gb), Intel® Core™ i7-2600K 8mb (4.1 ghz), and a 16gb ram. i run crysis 2 at 110 fps on max.

What are you doing wrong? everything.

  • @SpaceBunneh TRLOLOLOLOLOLOL trying to brag well FUK u asshole XD i have a better system core i7 980x overclocked to 4.8ghz 12gb kingstone black ram- for backround programs >.> and gtx 580 mars II card by the way the gtx 580 mars ii is quieter and performers 30% faster than the gtx 590 LOL and HAFX case with a 1250watt gold edition power supply =D oh and i run crysis 2 MAX at 1920x1080 at about 170-220 fps when i overclock the mars 2 i have a waterblock so yeh and at higher resloutions 60+ fps

  • @pcgaminglegend you guys are huge ass nerds

  • @noobpwner85 if they're nerds, doesn't that make them smarter then you. which means they'll do better, get a better job(if your in school) and live a generally better life? o_o

  • @ShinChanfan22 Anyone is smarter then a guy with an username like "noobpwner85"

  • @ShinChanfan22 thats not necessarily true at all. there are many skills and traits such as self confidence and leadership ability to name a couple that many "nerds" may not possess that are key to great success

  • @ShinChanfan22 EXACTLY

  • @noobpwner85 Says "noobpwner85" xD Loser.

  • @noobpwner85 "Here we see the wily Douchebag, who has spotted two PC gamers using language he does not understand. See how he tries to hide his ignorance with insults. Sadly, it is commonplace for most douchebags to live out their lives working at the local McDonalds... or, if they are lucky, dating Snooki from The Jersey Shore."

  • @pcgaminglegend get a life geeks

  • @pcgaminglegend How's your tiny penis doing? Seriously though, you're a terrible liar, all I had to do was open up your profile and sure enough, your dumb ass is bragging about a totally different set of specs. Secondly, the mars 2 is 23% faster than a generic 590, so wrong there as well. It also costs overa thousand pounds/dollars and is the kind of "overkill" hardware that most people are regarded as idiots for buying. So congrats I guess, liar/ spoiled moron.

  • @pcgaminglegend no.... I said max for a reason, plus i wasnt trying to showoff if i was id be telling you all the components and specs of my better computer. for one it runs dual gtx 590's so it doesnt matter if yours ran 30% faster ( if it did LOL) and yours is still 60% slower. and pamew is right, you are a terrible liar.

  • It even ran smooth on my Geforce 440mx.

  • @TomozukiII Yup, same here. 1024x768 @ ~60fps (the frames dipped a little in wide area maps). I got a GeForce 2 laying around somewhere. I should try this :}

  • @TomozukiII It runs fantastically on my old Acer Aspire 4330. 2.0GHz, 2gb of RAM, Intel graphics. I think Valve intended for HL2 to run on anything from a potato to the best gaming PC's.

  • I ran this on a Radeon 7200 in a PC with 256Mb RAM for a short while...

  • ancient? my computer can barely run tf2!

  • @bananaman40 Tf2 takes up a lot more ram than half life 2. Valve did a very good job of making half life 2 very universal, and very "Low maintenance" :]

  • should be called:half life 2 runned on high graphic card

  • dude this runs pretty good so shut up

  • @thesuperrandomguy123 That's the point.

  • 9k series Radeons where nice cards I don't know why people slated them so much.

  • as longs as your computer speed and ram is decent you can run half life, it really doesn't take muchto run it

  • @dantethesaint7 oddly,i can run hl1 source,but i cant run episode 1 or 2

  • @thezebracakes A calculator can run Half Life 1. The game is ancient.

  • @thezebracakes They do not have the same graphical settings, half life 2 pushes the load on the source even further than half life 1 source

  • Its runs smooth on my School NetBook,

    Intel(R) Atom(TM) CPU N550 @ 1.50GHz

    2.0 GB Ram

    Win 7, 32 bit.

    Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator 3150

    :D

  • What? I have a machine with theses specs and it runs at a constant 30fps on all high:

    Intel Pentium 4 2.8GHz

    ATI Radeon 9200SE 128MB

    512MB DDR RAM

Bitches don't know bout my Source engine optimizations.

CSS and GMOD run at a good framerate, too. Left 4 Dead is slow as balls, though.

  • i run mine on 1024 x 768 when i could do widescreen on medium everything and i lag if a andlion guard gets right up to me or a rocket blows up in front of me is that my graphics or the game

  • My Laptop had an ATI Radeon 9600 Mobility 64 mb, and I played this game at some HIGH settings :D

  • When Half-Life 2 came out, that pc was High-End aka more than you ever needed !

  • this took 3~5 minutes to load levels on my pentium 3 1GHz /:

  • dude hl2 dont run on my pc i get runtime error i have intel 82865g 96mb does not support pixel shaders or vertex shaders

  • Absolutely you can

  • oh my gosh... it`s not an ancient card..

i born in the poor ukrainian family and played hl2 on Celeron 400Mhz+GeForce2 mx440. Or, maybe, you forgot about Riva TNT card??

  • @papajekket Now that's ANCIENT.

    This guy is so wingy

  • do u think i could run CS:S on a solo core Intel Celeron 900 2.2 Ghz ?

    Radeon HD 3450

    1.5 GB Ram

  • @5L3YXC0R canyourunit (dot) com

  • @5L3YXC0R yes

  • @Mog087 That's called scalability, not optimization. Anyway, this was a low-mid range gpu when half life 2 came out, so it's not too surprising that it runs this game. You can run HL2 on a DX6 card if you want.

  • Comment removed

  • lol my pc can't even run HL2.

  • S3 Trio64 + Canopus Pure 3D very good combo for all your games

  • Did an archeologist dig up your graphics card?

  • ATI Radeon 9550SE 128MB DDR2 ???

You call that ancient? Oh you youngster!

I'll go try with Voodoo 2 12MB, I'll bet it runs smooooothly ;)

  • @Mog087 Yea! The developers made sure Half Life 2 could run on a pile of dirty socks!

  • half life 2 looks beautiful and u dont need uber awesome pc to play it on why cant all games be like this

  • @Mog087

thats because it didnt had a crappy console engine, just look at the new battlefield3,doesnt look any better than crysis2 but you need a gtx580 to max it out lol

  • @Mog087 im running it on my calculator...

  • @409346 hahahahahaah

  • Could i run Half-Life 2?

Intel Celeron 2.2ghz/2gb ram/intel integrated graphics

  • @redrobin41 yes :D

  • Oh Shiat, i have better pc and lower fps D:

  • Hl2 can run on an old Radeon ATI 4350 (True story, i used to have one).

  • 0:43 OWNED

  • I have Intel(R) 82865G Graphics Controller, only 96 mb

  • My computer: AMD Sempron 3100+ with one core, Sapphire Radeon 128MB (in less than a week I'll have a new one, faaaar better), 1.5Gb RAM.....results with this game: on 1024x768 works flawless, better than Farcry, Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from the butcher bay, NFS Most Wanted and many more. But still it has better graphics than all of them.

  • @Globstersmessenger its a dual processor

  • i got a new video card and hl2 still lags... i got some 3gb ram and hl2 still lags...

until i realized that hl2 needs 3.ghz processor to run perfect(i got 2.2)

i facepalmed myself for being stupid and not reading the requierements

  • @TheMentalgen

I ran HL2 on a 2.4 ghz processor and it ran fine....

Please god please don't tell me you're using a single core processor.

  • Sure... "ancient."

  • @Mog087 I can play half-life 2 on my calculator!

  • @Mog087 On a calculator?

  • OMG BEST VIDEO CARD EVER!!!

i have ati hd 5700 very sucks i only run the game in very high with 8xAA + CCC optimal quality smoothvision my vidcard sucks

  • @TommyDDoom I have an Nvidia Geforce 540m on my laptop. And my laptop has 6gb ram, it cost less than £500. That is not 'BEST VIDEO CARD EVER'. It's pretty shit actually

  • @PH5221

    Processor : Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 3.06GHZ

Video Card : ATi Radeon HD 5770 [Gigabyte]

    Memory : 4GB [DDR2]

    HDD : 500GB [7200RPM]

    Thats my comp!

AND USE THE CATALYST CONTROL CENTER FOR BETTER QUALITY THIS HL2 [YOUR] IS NOT GOOD!!!!

  • @lolbobs Yes. Thank you, Mr. Specific. Because it probably wasn't clear that's what I meant.

  • @ninjastalker92

No problem. :D Glad you realized you weren't clear. :)

  • What song Is This Plzz Any one Tell mee :(

  • @drifterboyy123 It's called Spybreak by the Propellerheads.

  • I used to play HL2 with no graphics card, 512 mb of RAM, and a Pentium 4. It hurt.

  • @ninjastalker92

If you didnt have a graphics card, there wouldn't be anything on the screen.

I think you mean integrated graphics card.

  • Comment removed

  • even an ancient IGP called Intel GM3100 could crash while the game is starting yet

  • Ancient? You know nothing. I played HL2 on: Duron 1,2Ghz 256MB RAM, GF2 MX 200 32MB and it was lagging like fucking hell, no water effect, just blue texture, levels loading for damn 2 minutes. BUT I gone through half game until I upgraded to your ancient Radeon 9550 and 512MB ram and Duron 1,8Ghz. And I played whole game on this shit.

  • well its better than mine lol i bought hl2 on steam for my new pc ill be getting and it doesnt even start on the one i have now lmao i cant even run hl1 on max 1024x768 gets around 25 fps

  • you re kidding? I was playing on Geforce 4 64 mb

  • i could run this with my penis

  • I can't even run this this with my Compaq laptop. Jeez, my computer SUCKS.

  • @BombBooZora

    Wait..........do you know your specs?

Considering that Geforce 2 and Intel Extreme graphics can run HL2, I really am curious.

  • @Usul573 Is there a place I can find my specs?

  • @BombBooZora

Yeah easy, check your computer/system properties/control panel then device manager.

  • @Usul573 I don't know what to look for.

  • @BombBooZora

Well, just in the task bar, under Computer, if you can find the system properties that should tell you some things.

Also in the task bar, the control panel, then hardware, then device manager, and find out about the display adapter/processor.

  • @Usul573 By the way, by this, I meant Garrys Mod.

And its a Mobile Intel 915GM/GMS, 910 GML Express Chipset Family cause I wanted to see if I could upgrade it or something.

  • @BombBooZora

Ah, old GMA 900 type, also very sketchy and old, looks like someone got HL2 and Gmod to run somewhat ok on it though, maybe some fixes or something could help.

Laptops mostly can't be upgraded sadly.

You can get a laptop that has something 25 times as powerful for $380ish now though.

  • @Usul573 Really now? Mind telling me the brand name, and where I might be able to purchase one? I'd LOVE to upgrade from my POS. XD

  • @BombBooZora

Frys has a Fujitsu, but it's not available right now.

Certainly keep your eyes peeled for deals out there.

    This one was $380, Core i3-2310M, HD 3000, 4GBs of DDR3, Win 7 HP 64 bit.

For 3DMark06, the GMA 900 might score 100 and the HD 3000 scores about 3000.

It's not super high end but is CERTAINLY getting better.

  • Yay now a windows 2000 can play this XD

  • intel 82565g...

  • That's now i used to run it with intel celeron 2.2 ghz, 768 ddr1,and nvidia fx 5500 :D

i'm glad i have a new computer ( not beast, but still decent, i'd say )

  • i can run this with my potato

  • I have a little better than this. Geez finland is expensive.

  • @Mog087 Actually, the Source engine is a really well optimized engine. I can even run L4D2 with my ancient graphics card. O_o

  • MEH TOO!!!

  • this level is the reason i broke my key board I just couldn't get past the gate with the car and allways ended up quitting because it took to long to finish the level

  • @Mog087 Thats why valve is the best and plus because they make huge games and they compress all the files so that it doesn't take century's to load and plus becuase 95% of the people at valve are modders so they know how to make games run of shittey pcs :)
