  • Hopefully, GSC listened to your complaints about unnecessary cocking, the guns don't do it anymore in either CS and CoP. In ShoC the unnecessary cocking broken all effort of being stealthy because it's so loud that you enemy heard you from quite a distance.

Also, you may not like this what I'm about to say but: Stoner based rifles may be versatile but they aren't the best option for heavy military use. Their direct impingement gas system is their weakest point.

  • Hey Iggy, I noticed at 2:49 the left STANAG pretty much covers up the bolt release lever. Do you usually use the charging handle instead of the bolt release?

LOL, isn't it crazy that I've seen this video like 20 times and yet I have no shortage of comments?

BTW did you ever end up buying a scope for that Marlin?

  • Hrm. Usually use single mags. Only got the one clamp. Usually use bolt release. No scope for Marlin. Prefer iron sights on .30-30.

  • How do you hit the bolt release with a southpaw stance? Do you do the reacharound? I guess you took the scope mounts off? I seem to recall it without them in your levergun video.

  • Correct on the levergun. I can reach the bolt release with my left index finger with a left-hand hold (unless I'm using clamped mags and have the right mag inserted). Otherwise, I can use my support (right) hand.

  • Ah. I guess you can always start out with the right mag in since you'd need to use the charging handle the first time anyway.

  • Hey bud, where do you live.... because I'm teaming up with you whenever the apocalypse happens!

JK, like the vids. I wish I had your voice.

  • Thoinks!! XD That's a combination of "thanks" and "boink," by the way (just because the word "boink" is funny).

I live in Indiana. A former red state that turned purple and sold out to the internationalist machine.

  • Say, where'd you get a 29-rounder for .40 S&W? According to the Glock site, the biggest mag for that caliber is 17. Is that an aftermarket mag?

  • aftermarket. Got it from a local gun shop.

  • Ah.

  • Way to go Iggy, now I want a Krag-Jorgensen because of you! XD But I really did like the side-loading integral magazine. The later versions look especially nice! I didn't even know there was such a thing. You sure know alot about cool obscure firearms!

  • Igg, have you ever had any trouble with the Magpul pmags not falling free? I recently bought several of the desert tans and they don't fall free when I hit the mag release. Tried sanding down the rough edges but no luck. I have some black ones and they work fine, though.

  • Yeah, they have to be physically pulled out.

  • Lame. I think i might have to invest in a dremel.

  • Iggy you need an AK. Have you looked at any of the Saiga rifles?

  • Yes. I like them with w0od. My very first semi-auto rifle was an SKS with an evil black plastic Dragunov-style FiberForce stock. Traded it long ago (back in the '90s).

  • Hey Igg, I'm in the market for a decent AR-15 and was wondering if you have any recomendations. I noticed you have a Carbon-15, which are supposed to be cheaper but the only ones I've seen are $1000 and up. There's a nice used ar-15 at a local store for $899, which is still a bit pricey, but fairly reasonable for an ar-15. I didn't get the manufacturer, i think it was a Stag but I could be wrong.

  • I think I might have lucked out on mine. It was used and in like-new condition and cost half as much as it would have new. Lo0k into a Kel-Tec SU-16. I just got one of those recently for about $550. Like an AR-15, it's a semi-auto .223 and uses the same STANAG mags which are plentiful. There are different versions. Mine is the SU-16C which has an underfolding stock. All civ variations (as opposed to the short-barrel select-fire SWAT versions) have a forearm that fold out into a bipod.

  • Heheh, Kel-tec is a sweet brand. I saw a PLR-16 for under $600 but it's categorized as a pistol so I can't buy it...yet. I kinda wanted an AR-15 for the versatility; they make uppers in just about every caliber now, and they even make gas-piston kits for it. I didn't know SU-16s accept STANAGs though, that's something to consider. Basically I wanted something in .223 because even with a potential AWB there'll still be ammo because it's basically a hunting cartridge.

  • Hey Iggy, just a quick question out of curiousity. I know we both love automatic weapons and SBSes, so are you ever planning or have you ever been planning on getting a Class III weapons license and any Class III firearms? What is it that's been keeping you from purchasing any?

  • It's inconvenient and unconstitutional. Also, I'm not positively sure anymore that it's called a Class III license. I've heard so many conflicting reports on it. For so long, I thought I had it straight. I thought Class II was full-auto and Class III was short-barrel shotguns. But then others have said that's not correct. So I don't know anymore. All I know for sure is that the laws don't make sense.

  • That is so true, I agree! Were you ever planning on purchasing a full-auto or a short-barrel shotgun?

I don't care how confusing these bullshit-laws are, I'm not going to let anything stand in my way of buying a submachine or two when I'm your age

  • I remember hearing that the reason why the weapon models are reversed in Counterstrike is because the modeler was left handed and modeled the weapons as if they were to be used by a left handed person. Call of Duty 4 has realistic weapons; the M16/M4 in that game is reloaded realistically (without pulling back the charging handle again), something not even Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 did (another game with otherwise realistic operation of firearms).

  • He should have given the player the option to fire left-handed (which I would like since I sho0t that way due to a bad right eye) while keeping the models proper since most firearms actually are approximately ambidextrous. Sure, you do a few things differently when you sho0t left-handed, but left-hand sho0ters have certain advantages (especially if the charging handle is on the right side).

  • Another error with the M4A1 in CS is that the player presses the forward assist to chamber a new round 0_0 The issue with the AUG and the bolt-action rifles also irritated me too...

  • Oh oh oh one more thing, what's the deal with these +2 floorplates i keep hearing about? Are they avail. for all calibers? Also, did Glock 34's get the 4th generation update like the 17?

  • I think the +2s are available in all calibers. That is, all extended magazines that hold at least 28 rounds.

FunFact: The TDI Kriss Super V (.45 Auto) is compatible with 28-round GLOCK 21 mags.

  • Yo it's me again, is your inbox full yet?

Anyways, i'm looking into a Glock 34, could you PM me your opinion if you've handled one?

  • don't know anything about that particular model other than it's 9mm Para and takes 17-round mags (standard flush).

  • what is up mister chaos operative, its aaron from work. good work with the videos

  • Heeey! Salutations, you! XD And thanks! It's g0od working with you because you don't get pissed off about anything...ANYTHING!!

  • There's gonna be even more unnecessary weapon cocking in Clear skies (Just watch some of the new videos where the new pistol anims are shown) :D

  • No0oOo0oOo0oO!! }:-O
