  • Lupe got screwed over on lasers. Fuck those dudes to ignore what Lupe wanted to do with his album but please stop talking about how you miss the old Lupe, he's not gone. He was just misrepresented. He's gonna kill it on his next album so cheer the fuck up.

  • i miss this lupe

  • I can't help but shed a tear on this one.

  • Happy Birthday Lu!!

  • Sometimes I scratch my head wondering if this is the same Lupe Fiasco I hear today...his music used to be so much better.

  • @pizzaeleven11 wait for F&L 2 he gon bring it back to the roots

  • I listen to this when I need to remind myself to not become the "father" in this song.

  • it's amazing how people don't realize how real and talented Lupe Fiasco is. Respect.

  • This is one of my favorite Lupe tracks.

  • Why is it the same lyrics in this song.

  • @gamingreviewkings It's 2 perspectives... The second verse is the kids perspective. The first is basically a narration.

  • @MistahhKryzzTdot He just changed the words from he to i but the same lyrics i think.

  • @gamingreviewkings yeahhh it is the same lyrics, it's just from 3rd person to 1st person. But I like how he did it up

  • @gamingreviewkings The first verse is from the perspective of the mother talking to the father, the 2nd verse is from the perspective of the son talking to the father, It's quite genius...

  • A real man cares for his children, teaches them wrong from right, watches them grow into productive individuals...Fuck dead beat dads y'all ain't men as much as you think you are SMH

  • Fuck dads.

  • sorry yall, went on a bit of a rant but i am so tired of seeing my people like this... if u feel me on anything i have said then at least it did some good... cause i can hear the females now that are mad about 90 percent of what i had to say... on that note bring it on cause i could do it all day.

    Missouri

  • now men we got alot to work on to now, all these kids out here and no men step n up. the streets will always be there and u not miss n nothing, these tricks come just as quick as they got here, that money aint worth your whole life cause as u can see they cant WAIT to lock a young brother up forever over u know what... even tho white elite superstars get caught with it and only get community service and say thing like "i figured it was bubble gum" off subject. men now is time to be fathers

  • but dont act like the world is full of no good men and we all are thugs with cases pending, but woman need to come to grips with the fact that right or wrong they like that type of man, so dont be surprised when he is on another girl facebook hugged up, when u met him at a club by taken two shots a jack and grind n on a stranger on the dance floor under dim light. and people wonder why all these females is kill n they own kids... cause they too busy trying to be miss club n, too busy to be mom

  • what i am getting at here is we have got to a point where woman like bad boys.. yea ok that whatever but having kids but bad dudes is beyond me, and good men suffer the most, we are seen as not being strong, we are seen as being "boring" ect ect, well if excitement is "black eyes, court papers being issued, house getting kicked in, baby mamas out the a**" then by all means continue to be "entertain"

  • *deep breath* long story short. father wasnt there and mom sure as hell did it with out em, but i had a kid at 15 years old and things with her mother didnt work out (cheater) but i told her i would never turn my back on her or my daughter. xmas, birthdays, school stuff, daycare, not for a reward but because its what iam supposed to do. men who have daughters (and are around) become very emotional, its been seven years and iam still in her life, funny things is her mom makes it so hard

  • My dad has always been there for me but the woman n the video reminds me so much of my Mom it's scary.

  • 2:40 Damn....

  • this song must have made SO many better fathers, and not just fathers, just better people.

  • Comment removed

  • if i bring children in this world, im gonna do everything i can to be there for em always.

  • This is the type of song that really sets Lupe apart from all the other artist in the game.

  • the 10 dislikes are from asshole fathers.

  • Fuck you dad, FUCK YOU!

  • @jeemaurice : He Didn't Even Come Out The House.. :/ .. I Kno' Unfortunatly Once Father's Like Him Grow Old, They Going To Want To Apologize For Theyre Absence.. &nd They Had Opportunities Like This To Change.. Or To Simply Give A Simple " Hello". It Will Be To Late But What Can We Do Than To Satisfy Ourselves &nd The Ones That Actually Stayed In Our Lives. I'm The Type Of Daughter He Would Have Been Proud To Be Proud Of. His Loss.

    <3 Kaomi'Michelle

    Peace.Love.Courage.

  • I dropped more than a tear to this song. Parents divorced when I was five and since then I've never spent more than a couple days a year with my dad. He was there financially but absent from my life. At school, I fought hard and didn't study for shit. I used to drive my mom crazy and she tried but I didn't want her, she couldn't do everything. We grew apart, as two very different people. I still love her and recognize her efforts. And although he's far and emotionally unavailable, I love my dad.

  • Comment removed

  • i wish my mom could rap like that too :/ lol

  • 09 dislikes???? I don't get people anymore!

  • I was THIS Lupe back. Fuck this new-wave, dubstep-rapping, pretentious ass pop rapping Lupe. This is the style that fits Lupe Fiasco the best.

  • @WutDfuzz he tries new things. now fuck off and enjoy his music

  • this 1 for my mama

  • I remember when I first heard this, they need to really play Lupe way more often, way too lyrical(:

  • Lupe spits more than rhymes.

    He speaks truth,

  • to be honest not to hate or dick ride anybody but i honestly think other rappers are takin lupe fiasco's style. His the first one to come out with the skateboard look, the bad relationship songs , and good story tellin. And he was young when he started. But im glad he is underrated.a true lupe fan dont need his music on the radio. I got all 3 albums and his mixtapes and i listen 2 em all day!

  • Radio really needs to play some more Lupe and other music with a fucking story/message behind it. And fuck you Nas, hip-hop isn't dead, the main stream media just wont play.

  • It's rappers like Lupe Fiasco that are saving hip hop

  • i remember this song, its still SO powerful. J. Cole just released his "Lost Ones" vid, very verrry similar to this. yall DEF have to check that out.

  • great song!!!! Lupe is deep

  • Hey Everybody im a rapper from Detroit but I dont sound anything like them other rappers from detroit. I have a dream of bringing true lyrics that tell stories like lupes flows back to hip hop. Jus take 15 sec out of ur day and check out my channel and subscribe! Thank you all and god bless!

  • nueve culos y putos

    good music

  • Genius

  • Despite Lupe using the exact same verse but in different perspective it doesn't take away from the genius of the song.

  • I wicked love his art behind this song. Like how the title is "He Say She Say" and the lyrics are given from two different perspectives, the son and the mother.

    Lupe's genius.

  • WHO THE FUCK DON'T KNOW WHO GEMSTONES IS??? OMG, REAL LUPE FIASCO FANS STAND THE FUCK UP.

  • @NoUsernameDisplayed That's what I'm saying. Apparently people don't give a shit though.

  • @NoUsernameDisplayed Respect.

  • @NoUsernameDisplayed i got yo back my friend, FNF!

  • when lupe was lupe...i used the name fiasco everywhere..sigh

  • This is the only song I've ever cried to, probably because its one of the most relateable songs I've ever heard.

  • It erks me how many people on here are "Lupe Fans", but have no idea who Gemstones is... -_________-

  • @gotsteeze92

Why do you have to know everything about an artist to like their music?

  • @resincoatedlungs If you're a Lupe fan, you SHOULD know who Gemstones is. You SHOULD know who Bishop G is. You SHOULD know who Shayla G is. & you Should know who Chilly is. I don't have a real answer to your question as in I dont see knowing who Gemstones(a.k.a. Gemini) needing to know everything about Lupes life. However...I feel, if the words "FNF Up!" have ever left your mouth you should know EXACTLY who all you are representing.

  • @gotsteeze92 I'm a Lupe fan and I have only heard Lupe -mention- some of those names. We know Chilly is Lupe's friend thats in prison but thats all i know.

  • @MyDogBrownie Listen to Lupe's mixtapes.

  • isnt the dad the guy from dumb it down?

  • @Toastuhh Yeah man, his name is Gemstones. Look at my videos and you'll see some of his shit.

  • @gotsteeze92 ya man im totally not a true lupe fan. ive only been faking being a fan by listening to every single song hes put out in the past 6 years, but since i dont know some group hes associated with, i dont know anything about they guy. i dont even deserve to be on this video do i?

  • @mclovin435190 Yeah, you're wack as hell for not knowing. You know every song he's put out the last 6 years but don't know who they are? Yeah....that's a lie. Lmao...

  • @gotsteeze92 i mean ive heard of them because they feature in some of lupes songs, but i still dont listen to them. so is anyone who hasn't heard every outlawz song not a real 2pac fan? no you dont have to listen to everyone else just to be a fan of one person. your not cool

  • @mclovin435190 Who said anything about knowing all of their songs? My point is you should know who they are.

  • My oldest brother is a father, as a teen dad he could has just as easily left his kid and turned down the wrong path, but he didn't. He now has three beautiful boys and I am so glad they will never know the pain many people feel with this song like myself. I am happy they will never know what my brothers and I went through when our father abandoned us. All it takes to be a good father is choice. You choose to stick by your kids, be a good parent and be a better man.

  • Love Lupes storytelling skills

  • Yo, my brother from another burst out crying when I introduced this song. His dad left because of his crack addiction and it kills hum to this day, and probably is why his aspirations are lacking... I love him, and I support him so he can find teh faith in himself to get out of this life... Much love to everyone who feel this song intimately. Peace to all

  • J cole and Lupe Fiasco all damn day

  • even if you dont like lupe (which is crazy) how could you dislike this song?

  • I love this song...This story is real....XD!

  • Miss this lupe

  • @P4875 agreed

  • this song is so amazing i'm seeing lupe tonight and i would be SO HAPPY if he played this

  • @letsdrinkmotts ur so lucky. im from the UK and i was hoping he would do part of his tour here but the guy got no plans. dissappointed. if i had the money to travel to the US to see him i would.

  • 240p, my old nemesis, we meet again

  • HAPPY DEAD BEAT FATHERS DAY TO MY DAD LEAVING ME AT A YOUNG AGE AND NEVER IN MY LIFE HAVE I WISHED I HAD A DAD AND IF I WAS BORN AGAIN I WISH IS TO NEVER HAVE KNOWN YOU

  • I can really relate to this. I love my mom so much. She's done everything to make sure me and my brother got the best life. She went to college to get her Masters, and she got it. I love you mom, and thank you.

Oh yeah, and dad, fuck you.

  • @minxjeh LOL EXACTLY HOW I TRIED TO EXPLAIN IT TO MY FRIENDS!

  • to all the ladies trying to teach a boy how to be a man, our pain through the void in our children is one explained so well in this song ... Kudos lupe

  • If this song can't change the mind of an absent father, I don't know what can. The lyrics are so raw and so truthful.

  • Who knew something as telling a fairly common story through his lyrics was so...addicting and shown to me so very well! Lupe is my L.A.S.E.R.S.

  • LUPE THE BEST JOE

    CHICAGO ALLDAY!!!

  • A rap song with a positive empowering message about being a real father???? Refreshing Lupe. Thank You.

  • I remember when this album first dropped and I heard this track and I'm telling ya it was like a breath of fresh air. Hip Hop has lost alot of it's heart and soul to materialism and mediocrity, Lupe brought a piece of that back by telling a heartfelt story through his lyrics.

  • 10 likes & i'll drive up to my dad's drive way & play him this song full blast at 1 in the morning!

Smh at father's not supporting theyre children </3

  • @KaomiMichelle So how did he react ?

  • This song makes me look at my son and tear up. Man I just can't imagine, and I don't judge anyone, but man I would die for my son. "Now I ain't asking you for money or to come back ta me, some days it ain't sunny but it ain't so hard. It just breaks my heart, when I try to provide and he say 'mommy that ain't yo job."

  • GREATEST RAPPER TO EVER PICK UP A MIC IN MY OPINION ! Lupe,Nas,Tupac are all the best

  • @KidAirJordan he definately best alive at the moment

  • This song really makes me want to cry sometimes, my dad hasn't been involved in my life at all, the times I've spent time with him he was high or drunk. I really want a dad more then anything.

  • Beautiful story telling, and a story a lot of people can relate to.

  • lu cole lamar krit blu are too real for underground!

  • Growing up me and my mother moved around a lot, so I never really established friendships like most children. The relationship between me and my mother wasn't the greatest either. My father wasn't in the picture and being an only child what could I turn to? This. Stories told by people who know the mental pain, the lost sleep, the lonely holidays. We never have to feel alone again.

  • Man...This song ALWAYS get to me. I swear this song applies to me and my mama on many levels. But all that matter is we made it so far together and still got a long way to go. This song just makes me appreciate her more. Keep it up Lupe, this is the type of music we need these days...

  • 9 (non) fathers heard this song

  • @oliveirinha20 ha truth

  • He Say She Say>How To Love

  • lupe is the most underated rapper ever.

  • This is one of the best songs every created, this song got me through the rough days. Thanks Lupe for this Masterpiece

  • I miss the old Lupe. Back when he was just this chill dude spitting truth like this.

  • @TheLunaDivider112 He still is; his lyrics haven't changed, only his beat has.

  • Love.... Absolutely love this song... And those 9 that dislikes it must be aliens or deadbeats themselves and don't like what they see in the mirror. This not only apply to dad's, but its some low down mothers out there too... Who but men before their kids. I take my hat off to you dads who stay in your kid(s) life.

  • i remember when this came i was a young'n at the time :)

  • my father and i havnt had a good relationship since i was 9.. iam 19 now and with a child of my own .. i listen too this song everyday .. no bullshit it help me stay on da track of beeing a good father cuz i dont want my daughter to look at me like i do too my dad when she is older .and this fuckin song helps me be a good father so fuckin much ... lupe the savior!

  • @dapo3tic Props man let her know you love her and that she is beautiful EVERYDAY.

  • @tyknos93...thanx bro... i never let a minute pass me by were i dont give her kiss or hug her .. :)

  • Life Music...

  • Kid looks like Z-Ro lmao

  • My friend said Lupe Fiasco sucked today. Hes not my friend anymore.

  • being without your dad during your youth affects you deeply, and you may not even understand it until you're much older. i'm 21, and i'm just now getting it, why i struggled in school, why i misbehaved, and how i view women. looking back, it's like "who would i be today if he had been there?" but as a man, all you can do is vow to be different, don't follow his example, and move forward. this song is deep

  • And thus begins the story of Michael Young History(my cool young history) otherwise known as...The Cool

  • Shit I Seen My Dad A Few Times When I Was Little, Moms Told Me He Was Sellin Drugs So Had No Choice But 2 End The Relationship,We Moved From Up North 2 Down South,N Now I Don't Know Where My Damn Dad Is Now..No Contact Info Wat So Ever,Kinda Miss Him But Part Of Me Hates Him

  • Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn, that's all I can say 'bout this song.

  • This has got to be one of the deepest and most complex songs I have ever heard. Especially since the first and second verse are almost the same. He could change just a few words and change the perspective to a completely different person. It's crazy! One of my favorites, and one of the most underrated.

  • Those 9 dislikes feel this pain so thats why they hate on this song

  • @CDY1992 I wouldn't if he did that to me. But it's up to you. Do what's best.

  • I haven't seen my father since i was 8 years old I'm now 18. I was begining to think that he was dead. I recently found out that he is alive living in Arizona and I got his number. Should I call him after 10 years or not? It seems like he doesn't even care about me it s been 10 years and he hasen't even bothered to contact me. What should I do?

  • @CDY1992 Call him. You don't have to pour your heart out to him. Just stay in contact with him. And if he's not trying, then you don't have to either. He fucked up.

  • @Delontefukaz listen im 18 n both my parents been in and out of jails prisons all my life but my pops is the only one that ever really kept in touch n i love him to death for it. recently my mom called n asked my grandma to tell me to write her. even tho all the things i had to go through alone n all the tears i shed being the only kid n school who's parents couldnt show up to his graduation... she my momz, how bad can writing a letter be... shes my mom... do what u think is best yo. D-Beezy

  • @iisthatD Im 18 too. And when I was young my dad was abusive to my mom. He was in and out of jail for most of my life too. And now he's home and wants to try to judge me because he doesn't have shit to show for himself at 49 years old. I said fuck him. Im 18 and there's nothing left that he can teach me that life life won't. He barely knows me.

  • @Delontefukaz ya know i understand that people have it alot worse than me n they actually know there families and there parents actually fucked up but what always gets me every damn night is that i dont know what life would of been like with them... it could of been better then most or hell even worst but i never got and am never gonna get to know the answer to that question. my heart goes out to people in ur position, atleast u know who not to put in your life again me, im stuck wondering

  • @iisthatD Not to be insensitive but. You've gotta move on. You should reach out and get in contact with them, but you can't relive your childhood. It's up to them to be in your adult life. I always had my mom, but my dad has always been in and out of jail, then he was on drugs, that's when my mom kicked him out. He got his head straight. Found another woman. Got arrested again, and was in jail and he got out in January. And there's not much he can teach me, he's tryna treat me like im still 15.

  • @Delontefukaz not insensitive real talk there yo i know its jus its too late for parents in my life n i know thats what she gone try n be as soon as she get back into it n i aint tryin to have that but at the same time she is my mom n i have to because i know thats what i need to do to get over all the things on my heart, thx yo even tho i hate this life they influenced every damn song i ever made :) so i guess i owe somethin to em

  • @iisthatD Tell her to write you. She's the one who has something to say, and she should know somebody's address.

  • @Delontefukaz thats what i been saying but im speaking through the family members that talk to her, all they keep saying is that she wants me to write her so in the end she's gonna recieve a letter with the words u were never here so tell me why im 18 n deserve u in my life now?

  • @CDY1992 are you generally happy with your life now? look, i've never been in your situation, but it seems to me like if you haven't had contact with him in that long, think about what if doing so adds drama to your life; to some extent it'd be hard to avoid at least a little of that. if you have any reletives on his side of the family you do talk to, maybe you should talk to them first, get some idea of whats been goin on.

  • damn. i really miss my father now..

  • Now this ish is real RAP....PERIOD

  • Die lil wayne die this song almost made me cry and i have a father weezy go jump of a balcony better yet hang ur self with ur hair ur killin hip hop!

  • 1,545 likes to 8 dislikes...what a godly ratio

  • this song to me is now about tyler. real talk.

  • im not a rap listener but this astir is something better than all other who write unreal shit to be famous

  • Art

  • /watch?v=I1-hCOkqqqM&feature=channel_video_title

16 year old rapping over Hip hop saved my life! check it out!

  • whats the sample?

  • @dvsnature I think Lupe made this one..... Lupe's older works were beats composed of his own doing.

  • @WholeNoteWarren Oh dang thats tight thx for the info

  • @dvsnature No problem.

  • Niggaz don't blink

  • Comment removed

  • Lupe never makeinq verses but forever giveing lectures..

  • My father left me I'm a girl but he left the only thing I remeba is fightin he left

it even hurts us girls that I never had a daddy to hug Just my bad mom......

  • Never knew there was a videoooo!!

  • I was taught how to be a man not by my father but by my mother. always working hard, and always had a smile on her face even when they turned off the lights in my apartment. God bless all the single mothers out there.

  • Michael Young History was conflicted. Raised by a single, hard-working mother, History never really knew his father, a man who abandoned both History and his baby sister. This lack of paternal guidance turned an otherwise intelligent, promising boy into a drug-selling, money-grubbing Scarface-wannabe. Starting off as merely a petty crook, History’s torrid affair with his mentor’s (Game) wife, The Streets, sent him on a downward spiral of greed, deception, and, ultimately, death.

  • @TheGamekid93

i wish he would've finished telling the story on lasers

the coolest paint a picture on the story

  • @lupemcfly also the die

  • something other rappers lack is that they don't tell stories like lupe fiasco

  • @SoloPoloful J. Cole? Hopefully his album is better then some of his recent releases though

  • @SoloPoloful n the fucking way he does it is amazing. His swag mixed with his flow mixed with his beliefs mixed with his stories. AMAZING

  • @SoloPoloful have you heard of kid cudi.. do you live under a rock lol i like lupe fiasco but cudi.. all his songs are a part of his story, lol and his music is more unique than lupe's. i love lupe fiascos stuff but come on.

  • @SoloPoloful so fucking true

  • @SoloPoloful sept Kid Cudi and B.o.B

  • @APPAMANIAC

Don't forget about J. Cole. Cole, Cudi, and Lupe are definitely in my top 5. B.o.B is on the edge though. Like 6 or 7.

  • @SoloPoloful U probably dont listen to j. cole

  • @DeseanDJ nah i listen to alot of j. cole i was thinkin about him at the time

  • like this if you want an instrumental for this :)

  • This and Bastard by Tyler The Creator are my fucking anthems.....
