@siamois71 Mate, what you say first happened when they turned to be more "commercial". I saw them live in Madrid in the year 1995 and they were PROFESSIONAL to death, like no other band live. Sounded perfect and gave every single drop of their energy on Stage. Think they are getting old.
@siamois71 i've seen them live twice. this recording is bad, i agree, it surprised me, but as @miguelbritta said, they are absolutely professional and just perfect as far as i've seen, you'd think it's playback or something, the performance is flawless, sounds just like the album
Early Paradise Lost is great, but what I don't get is why Nick doesn't sound as aggressive in songs as when he yells. ( Just hear him on his beginning of this song; ''HALLOWED LAND...LET'S GO!'' He sounds as heavy as it gets. When he sings, he sounds too soft. A fucking pity, really. This also counts for their new live album; ''Anatomy of Melancholy''. He always yells ''Let's go!'' and ''Come on!'' with a harsh tone, but when he sings songs, he sounds quite soft.
this is one of the poorest sounds of paradise lost.. nick has crap vocals and the guitars are all wrong... paradise lost are tired here. a poor performance...
This is a great tune, one of their best. But Nick's voice sucks bad on this video and second guitar is really missing. What's worse, this guy's (can't remmeber the name) guitar sound really sucks, he has not even got the effects setting Greg uses for this song (he really should).
The other guitarists Aaron. Apparently what i read was that he was having trouble working out how to do two guitar parts as a solo player and it was very stressful for him.
PL are one of my fave bands ever, but Nick couldn't carry a tune live even if he had a bucket. Pity really. If a covers band singer sang this bad, they'd be booed off. They were better live in the early days, but Nick's voice has been shot for several years now :-(
"When we were all 12 or 13 years old" haha. I was excactly 12 or 13 years old when I introduced myself to Paradise Lost by accident in the mid 90s. Too funny.
Draconian Times will always have a place in my heart; such sweet music from first 'till last track. Such sweet memories.
01. Don't Belong, 02. Close Your Eyes, 03. Erased, 04. Redshift, 05. Mystify, 06. So Much Is Lost, 07. Hallowed Land, 08. No Celebration, 09. Accept The Pain, 10. All You Leave Behind, 11. Shine, 12. Enchantment, 13. Mouth, 14. Say Just Words, Encore: 15. One Second

Great metal band in studio but one of the shittiest band live.
Such a shame, they could be one of the greatest band of all time.
siamois71 2 years ago
in your opinion like some metal bands it is the shittiest live and according to some metalheads it is 100% but the rest of the metal world like em

Calling Nick old isn't quite right. Dio for example is old, but he's still singing top. Shame he has cancer now though. :(
Nick isn't even 40 years old yet, if I'm right.
