Shirley Ballas is the reason why Yulia winning the title, I think. Years ago Yulia and Max sponsored a workshop for Shirley to come to New York. I was lucky to witness their close relationship . Yulia is a wonderful person and a very talented dancer. I am sure Shirley had offered her a lot of secrets to Yulia who became even better than they were the champions in the U.S. already. I am very sad. With Slavik as a yard stick, I feel very sad for the future of Latin dancing if What all Riccardo could do is moving his legs around, so fast as to camouflage most of the time,without any solid basic trainning, and without any Cuban Motion....Then why didn't Slavik win instead? Well, it is a long story. I do not have enough space here to go into that today. All I could say is that I am prejudiced, I only wanted to learn from Slavik. He is my only teacher I could learn from.

While I agree on your points about Riccardo, Slavik is a far cry from his years with Karina and Elena. You could say it's politics that got them into the final in the first place. Should've gone to a couple who's able to produce body rhythm without sudden death of movement.

Being a first born,Slavik could make himself the best dancer in the world is also to limit his adaptability to dance with, say another first born lady. Very much like the experience I went through in my own marriage, a first born married to another first born. There was not a good day from the begining ! She is most likely a first born, the way she ignored Slavik's lead in a very complicated routine is the reason why Slavik could not be at his best. Is complete and utter bullshit. Slavik's leading has been shit ever since he split with Elena. You can actually see Slavik putting Anna in messy situations and RELISHING when she does a mistake. It's appalling to watch.

I dislike Joanna's dancing. Great dancer, great technique, athleticism, speed and flexibility, yet I never really like ANY of their dances. Strange given their talent, but their style does not seem Latin to me at all, and Joanna needs to try something different with her hair, that butch white hair is hideous!

Years ago, Yulia and I were in the same workshop by Shirley Ballas. The impression of my conversation with her was that she is a very lovely person. Dancing these days proves that she is extremely talented. I am not surprised that she became the World best Latin female dancer. Riccardo? humm!

@HM8290 not staying for the last dance was a bit uncalled for,they must've been really upset then, and in general a title does make you feel more accomplished because even if you know you are putting in a wealth of work and knowledge noone else acknowledges it as much until you bear a title of note otherwise everyone would be satisfied to just dance the first round. But graciousness in the face of defeat is usually a difficult pill to swallow esp when its a world title, can't say i blame him
