  • I bless the day I get a break and quit being denied a woman that will stick with me even though my life is a big fight.

  • I wonder how Johnny Lee thought about Eddie Murphy's "Wookin Fa Nub" satire on Saturday Night Live. I hoped he was flattered.

  • awesome song... if like country you gotta love this tune

  • Johnny Lee and I grew up together, now Sante Fe , Tx. Went to school together from the 3rd to 6th grade and were good close friends. Never knew he would be a famous singer someday. lol. :-)

  • Johnny Lee won single of the year in 81 and star of tomorrow at the TNN music city awards in 82.

  • Songs are universal smile makers .

  • I was a young man growing up in a farm in Havana, Cuba. I was able to listen to this music in my small radio. (I lived near the ocean, so I could tune country music radio station WQAM - Florida). With no knowledge of English I was able to learn these songs by heart. Now I have lived in Canada for 18 years and I am enjoying these beautiful videos. Country music touches people heart no matter color, race or background. It touched my heart way back when, and still does. Thank God for Country Music.

  • @1560438 Not a one hit wonder at all. He had a few. Cherokee Fiddles was another.

  • @1560438

Definitely not a one-hit wonder. He had 5 songs go to #1 on the Country charts including my favorite "(You Can) Bet Your Heart On Me" from 1981. Please be nice with your posts or someone may ask you how many hits have you ever charted?

  • NOT a country girl... but wow amazing.

  • I know this is a surprise to those who know me. This is my favorite country song and it's beautiful. I met Johnny Lee's daughter a few months ago when I was out at a local pub. I told her to make sure to tell her dad how much I love this song.

  • A nice song. It reminds me of when I was just out of the US Navy. I was much younger, and the rest of my life lay ahead of me.

  • very nice one...thanks.....

  • What difference does it make what color you are? He's got a great voice. We can love the music -- don't have to love him --we don't even have to like him. But I love this song with his voice. I love ACDC, too.

  • What difference does it make what color you are? He's got a great voice. We can love the music -- don't have to love him --we don't even have to like him. But I love this song with his voice

  • my aunt was one of the writers of this song ^_^. makes me proud

  • Back in the day. In Augusta Ga, the top Radio was WGUS. Casey Jenkins was the GM. He ruled the roost. He called the local shots. At that time, live was real in Augusta. Carol Mathews, Bill Findley, Helen Coffey, Ms Lynn Houston, Robbie Benson, and Johnny Clarke. Anything Ms Houston did was great. Helen, Jose G. Bill, Statue of A Fool. Robbie, Hey I' m the best. LOL Carrol Mathews" Midnight Choir" Johnny Clarke, Anything he did was great. I miss the real Augusta.

  • I am 41 and from Bangladesh. I am glad I found this song in youtube after a Decade. I grew up listening to this song. Just LOVE it!

  • this song is old i aint but i love it so did my lady very much we parted ways i still sing it at the pubs in edmonton,alberta..Canada

  • One of the best songs. I wish these modern "country' artists would take a lesson from the old school. This is how its done.

  • @chicago618 Modern day country music is great. It hasn't changed much in all it's years it's the only music ever where the people singing have to know HOW to sing.

  • @MrRebel1011 I guess I would respectfully disagree. Country from my perspective has most certainly changed. You cant convince me that what Johnny Lee, Charlie Pride, Conway Twitty Loretta Lynn, Crystal Gale, etc. sung is what passes off as country today. There is a world of difference. Todays country is geared more to the young pop Mtv crowd. Im not saying everything is bad about todays country, but overall yesterdays country is far closer to what I would call authentic country. Just my opinion.

  • @chicago618 Okay. Well I can see where you come from. But I don't think it's taken a turn for the worst. I do hate how everyone is taken a liken to country music and act as if Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus are great country singers. But there are great ones who are still at the top.

  • hahaha i walked down the road and he was singing at the restruant down the road what a suprise lol the things u see walking on a friday

  • girlfriend don't feel bad or funny! I'm black and not only do i love this song but every other country one i can find too! like you said, good music is good music

  • My mom worked as a shoe shiner @ Midnight Rodeo in San Antonio for years. She gave him a shine. She crossed paths with alot of big names, Garth Brooks, Collin Raye, Vince Gill and even George Strait. She said by far he was the most genuinely nice guy she had ever met out there. He gave her a $100 tip, a rose and a singed cassette(15 years ago). FYI- George Strait= "Cocky Little A**Hole!

  • This song reminds me of watching Urban Cowboy when I was a kid and brings back such good memories.

  • great song !!! do you have him singing pickin up strangers if so please post it that is my favorite he sings

  • saw him twice in concert once in 05 then again in 06. He is so badass and can outdrink anyone I ever met and even when a concert is over he still loves playin.

  • @JakeR0d31 Your right! I worked for Johnny and then booked him for a show at a theater I ran. He invited all 500 people in the audience over to the local bar afterwards where he poured and drank copious amounts of alchohol. He's a great guy. I always thought it would have been a good fit to have him in Gilley's theater in Branson, but for some reason Mickey wasn't to freindly with him and didn't seem to care if he was around. Johnny is a great guy.

  • when Urban Cowboy came out, Johnny was a featured performer in Gilley's house band. Became a household name. That s how big CowBoy was. Johnny was on his way. Downfall!!!!!the night he apperaed on nationial TV with the drink spill down the front of his shirt. By thw way? Where's Charlene Tifton? mmmm How the mighty falls. Johnny, you re a great talent. You helped make the UB what it was and what it still is today. Thanks a bunch love ya, your friend. Starr

  • @starr522 Last time I talked to Johnny he was in LA with Charlene at a store buying wine, which was last year.

  • @dannyd1572 last time i talked to johnny was 30mins ago on da phone :)

  • @hunterscool111 Oh wow...I remember JR hanging around the theater when Johnny worked there. Johnn's wife who later committed suicide, used to have JR playing in the lobby all the time. That was 1996. He would have to be in his early 20's by now I'm guessing. Johnny back in Branson?

  • @dannyd1572 no idea i spoke with him for a breif moment... but all seems well with him so im happy :)

  • Love the song...but what in the world was the guy thinking when he wore a red leather jacket w/ cow print???

  • "Lookin' For Love" brings back some great memories. I wish they would re-release the album of the same title on CD.

  • Well, I´m from Mexico and I absolutely love this song. Love it since I saw Urban Cowboy when I was 11 years old. My dad even took us to Gilley´s one summer while vacationing in Houston, Tx. got a chance there to ride the mechanic bull for the first time... what a time!

  • same here, i was just a kid and loved every minute of this song!!!

  • @aragornmty grew up in that bar when i was younger got many fawn memory's of the place and Pasadena TX. To bad the place burnt down

  • This is CLASS with a capital C!!! I was a kid of the 60's and a Beatle fanatic and yet this guy really captures my attention. Guys like this are gifted.

You either have it or you don't--they ain't no pretending in this area. These half wits, no talents, and musical dropouts you see dancing all over stage today are an insult to world class musicians like this. Thanks Johnny for these

songs as it gave me an appreciation for the country side of music I was not into in my early years. Kenn
