I agree even more!!! I mean, unless I'm mistaken, weren't you only allowed to repeat a jump once? So, regardless of falling on the last triple toe, it was pointless to begin with right? Furthermore, she did the same thing in Albertville meaning it was meant to be that way! Crazy! Laetitia just one of the those skaters that never really got serious enough about the sport to make anything of herself... it was like she just expected things to come together! Silly Laetitia!
That's what I thought, too. It's the Elaine Zayak rule. And she had two triple salchows in her program, too, so she definitely had no reason to be attempting that third triple toe. But it's not just her fault--she was only 17. Her coaches should have known better.
You're allowed to perform the same triple jump once as a solo jump, and once in combination. She did a triple toe-triple toe combo, and her final triple toe was also technically part of a combination, so I don't think she would've gotten a deduction (aside from the fall). Her second triple Salchow was also part of a jump combination, so it was allowed.
It starts with "LIfe on Mars" and goes on to "Bohemian Rhapsody" later.

I agree. Had she not tried that last triple she would have medaled. Dumb choice.

Why did she attempt a third 3toe after having completed a 3toe+3toe earlier? Had she not attempted it she could have had a chance for the podium.

I know. She should have just done a footwork sequence at that part.

Or just a double jump.

I always wondered why she attempted the third 3toe as well. I thought that the limit was only 2 of the same triple jump...?
