all this talk about OK Computer being one of the greatest albums of all time... I think it's only been in the last few years people have started to realise this. An album has gotta stand the test of time - and OK Computer TOTALLY does. I'd say without a doubt the best album of the 90s (just beating Nevermind - Nirvana) and definitely top 50 of all time.. maybe top 20... that one's pretty hard to measure. Anyway, love this song!
This is amazing. I wish I had enough time in my life to spend it making negative comments on videos featuring things I don't care for. But, I would rather spend my internet time watching videos I do care for and discussing/debating the finer points of things I share in common with people...silly me. Radiohead makes me feel good.
Im knowing radiohead a month ago...i have finished to listenting to every Prince album and now Radiohead makes me feel so different. Thats why I love music
wow swear to god u cant watch a single radiohead vid without some comparing muse and radiohead seiusly get a life? they sound nothing alike muse according to me muse is much better i dont like radioheads song any way no rage answer to this comment please
The song was built around this thick descending chord that maintains G as its root note. But in this final version, they just took that part out, leaving just the bass humming along on G as the other parts swoop and dive around a rhythm guitar that isn't there...and the result is nothing short of perfect.
My favorite Radiohead song. Everyone is always shocked by that, but can never seem to explain why...they all "like it". The way the simple but melodically intricate parts layer together in the verse and chorus to perform an impenetrable cascade of sound...it's hypnotizing. Especially once you've heard the acoustic version, and realize how they essentially cut out the main melodic part of the song...and made it brilliant.

@spankythedog56 I wouldn't really call him underrated. OKComputer appears in almost every top 5 of best album ever made, including the Rolling Stone list.. There is nothing underrated about Radiohead or Thom Yorke, they get a lot of recognition and they deserve it. Don't make it sound like they are some undiscovered indie band..
i just said thom yorke out loud and my friend said "who's thom yorke?", but he knows radiohead. radiohead gets tons of recognition, but thom yorke both as the singer/lyricist and a solo musician doesn't get very much recognition for his contributions. at least, not by anyone but actual radiohead fans.
i realize radiohead is a legendary band by now. i've known the name ever since i was a child, though i just recently started listening to them heavily. i don't even listen to indie music.
Even though this was video was made in the 90's, Ed is the only one who's dressing like he's from the time period. Thom and Jonny looks like they're ahead of everyone in terms of clothing.
Ok Computer is one of, if not the best albums I've ever heard in my life. The thought put into every song makes it like a dream of music when I close my eyes. I instantly start to think of my life based off these songs... I've never had that type of feeling while listening to The Beatles and other classic bands.
Truly amazing band, record, and my favorite song.
Thanks Radiohead, for giving me the best eargasms I've ever had!
@FuzzyMcDoodles OK Computer has often been voted the second greatest album of all time, behind only The Beatles Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Now that, is a fantastic thing to accomplish!
missflierg i agree with you in every way, they are beyond music i just can't describe it. and how to disappear completely makes the hairs stand up on the back of my neck
I totatally agree, I deffinitely agree with Amnesiadcmidnitetoker.
I love listening to music, many tipes of music, and I´ve love it since I was a child, but Radiohead is unique, superlative, I can´t find words anytime I want to describe what I feel everytime I hear one of their songs. This is purely magic, and almost perfection. Sometimes I try to convence myself that yes, they are human beings :D
Just remembered how brilliant this song is.....it's been years since I heard it. Vivid memories of a summer several years ago....Wow. This song takes me away to a wonderful place.
I really wish I knew how they did what they do. The way they write their music makes me so fucking jealous. Every single song sounds so ethereal, so masterly written. It brings my head to near explosive points.
Bring together a group of talented, open minded and passionate musicians, pratice 24/7 and you will see that you can get very far.. Important is always to practice, practice, practice oo and practice...haha radiohead works hard and really deserves to be appreciated..
Dude, I've been playing music since I was 4... I'm 23. I can't write the masterpieces that Radiohead has. They have some magical ability to write absolutely perfect songs. That's what I meant.
I know, you are right btw. Try to let it go and find your own way man.. it;'s no good listening to radiohead and comparing it to your own music, when what you see, is greatness.. And btw, 23 is still very very young.. And if you think about it, is it really that difficult composing a song like Creep? I mean, yeah, in rainbows is just to much...
chosen...- you can't write the masterpieces Radiohead has because you're not Radiohead. However, they won't be able to write the masterpieces you'll be able to if you develop your own abilities and follow your own path. No one can express what's unique about your human experience better than you. Nothing magic about it, just a willingness to throw away what isn't essential (IMHO.)
@chosentonessournotes Do you write music yourself? Only, you sound like me in my own head! I try to be musically broad minded but ultimately I keep coming back to Radiohead - I just hear so few other people with quite that high an aesthetic.
@bigal838 i wish all artists had the same effect on me... i wouldn't be disappointed at all. it's like a an ethernal state of satisfaction and relief sponsored by music alone
They do it by putting 5 musicians (themselves) in a room with 3 guitars, drums, a bass and myriad of electronic effects. The rest is nature taking its course.
@chosentonessournotes 5 amazing musicians put together who care about music can create so many amazing sounds together, wish all bands cared as much for music as these guys seem to.
@chosentonessournotes apparently they just hate everything they do. maybe they're perfectionists and are just patient with their music, and of course they are amazing musicians through lots of practice!
Yeah i agree. I ADORE this song. Every time i listen to it, it makes me feel like I´m floating, and i don´t know why, it really sounds magically.
By the way, hard decision to rank RH´s records:
KID A/Amnesiac
Ok Computer
The Bends
In Rainbows
Hail to the Thief
Pablo Honey (which i like, but obviouslly was exeeded by the others, even when Creep is not the only nice song there, I still enjoy listening "You" or "Vegetable" )
Yes I agree, the thing is that this guys are so brilliant in everything what they have been doing and their evolution has been so indredible that it turns very difficult to choose. :)
the guitars and harmonies in this song are so lush and relaxing - often gets overshadowed, but one of the many gems on OK computer. Shame they don't play it live anymore.
Hard to compare radiohead albums - but i'd say:
1. OK computer
2. (Tie) Kid A, The Bends, In Rainbows
3. (Tie) Amnesiac and Hail to the Thief
4. Pablo Honey (which I don't really like apart from Creep)
this is probably the song i listen to the most off of OK Computer, surprisingly!! Airbag, too. But yeah, i fucking love this song.
and since we're all talking about albums, I feel a little left out - I listened to Kid A only once and I knew right away - Best album ever. My FAVOURITE.
And I bought OK Computer because everyone told me it was the best, but it took me many listens to get in but it came to #2 for me. At first I thought it was shit, i was like "WHATS WRONG WITH ME?!". It was weird.
Guys you can`t compare the radiohead albums, not at all because each of them was very specific, after OK computer, each had something new, something different from the others.. so you can`t really tell which is the best.. only thing you can say is I like this one the most, but that`s about it.
It's only because I haven't really gotten in to HttT yet. I think Pablo Honey's really underrated. Yeah, Creep is overplayed, obviously, but there are other great tracks on the album, and I love the nostaliga of them back when they were so guitar-driven.
I always considered HttT as their best album. Really, I got into it very easily, the variety of songs, the meaning behind those, the Orwellian influence and such made this album my favorite. Of course, they're all in the same spot on my list, #1, exclusive to Radiohead only.
Yeah, from what I've heard of the album I really dig the Orwellian influence. 2+2=5 is fantastic, I fuckin' love 1984. Orwell's fantastic, and a great influence.
Can somebody tell me which concert is this ?

Yeah i agree. I ADORE this song. Every time i listen to it, it makes me feel like I´m floating, and i don´t know why, it really sounds magically.
By the way, hard decision to rank RH´s records:
KID A/Amnesiac
Ok Computer
The Bends
In Rainbows
Hail to the Thief
Pablo Honey (which i like, but obviouslly was exeeded by the others, even when Creep is not the only nice song there, I still enjoy listening "You" or "Vegetable" )
missflierg 2 years ago
well when you group KID A and Amnesiac together, that's a pretty easy one. But, I'd say, some things are best left unranked
parkt6792 2 years ago
Yes I agree, the thing is that this guys are so brilliant in everything what they have been doing and their evolution has been so indredible that it turns very difficult to choose. :)

This song contains probably the most distinctive Jonny Greenwood guitar playing, I love it.
God look at how bad Phil's posture was 12 years ago

the guitars and harmonies in this song are so lush and relaxing - often gets overshadowed, but one of the many gems on OK computer. Shame they don't play it live anymore.
Hard to compare radiohead albums - but i'd say:
1. OK computer
2. (Tie) Kid A, The Bends, In Rainbows
3. (Tie) Amnesiac and Hail to the Thief
4. Pablo Honey (which I don't really like apart from Creep)

DAMN! :O FORGOT IN RAINBOWS
Ok so it's after Hail to the Thief, but only because I don't know In Rainbows enough yet.
Great live performance! FAVORTIE BAND EVER!!!!

Ok Computer, because there's my favorite song of all time on it (Karma Police) and because it's of course their best
Then Kid A, cause there's a lot of talent in it and it's pretty good
Then the Bends, even if Radiohead hates it I really enjoy it
Then Hail to the Thief
Then I can't place Amnesiac (Headphone inventive music) or Pablo Honey (classic radiohead rock album) so I just put both there
And of course the B-sides are somewhere in the middle...
That's it for me. :P

this is probably the song i listen to the most off of OK Computer, surprisingly!!

Hack419 2 years ago
I always considered HttT as their best album. Really, I got into it very easily, the variety of songs, the meaning behind those, the Orwellian influence and such made this album my favorite. Of course, they're all in the same spot on my list, #1, exclusive to Radiohead only.
cannabisabuser 2 years ago
Yeah, from what I've heard of the album I really dig the Orwellian influence. 2+2=5 is fantastic, I fuckin' love 1984. Orwell's fantastic, and a great influence.
