The right to peaceably assemble is in our bill of rights. This is akin to making churches get a permit to assemble. They could say, "Well, after a couple of years your permit may be processed." We, as American citizen controllers of government, should constantly exercise our rights to keep the government in check. the forest service was requiring a 10,000 dollar bond for the permit even if we wanted to sign it. im tired of people who werent there making judgements on the hippies. I have a job and a house and they arrested me. I went to jail and trial and was convicted of CAMPING. They impounded my car and transported us 150 miles from the camp and our stuff including my cat Snu. They took my car to Colorado.
It's so sad that these people were rousted, basically for not having a piece of paper, the reason for which is required is nothing more than money, period. All hail the mighty dollar, world without end, Amen. Land of the free, indeed!
The cost of a permit is about $2 a person + $200 cleanup and damage deposit which can be returned + whatever other facilities. So when a few hundred people show up it shouldn't be difficult for groups to come up with the money...these permits help fund the cleanup process and preventing the costs from being spread to non-participants...i.e. all other taxpayers. Everything except love and air cost money in America, its apart of our culture and something we all must accept.

The trial of the New Mexico 10, arrested the next day after this video was shot. I was among the arrested parties. We were found guilty of not having a permit and being in a group of more than 75. No penalty or fine was attached to our conviction. But be aware this year I have been directed by a Federal JUDGE to stay out of the National Forest IN New Mexico.
