  • great song, its a shame you dont hear it more, but then again it makes you appreciate it more if you have to search for it ..well worth the wait

  • intro is too long

  • Great great song. ive been a madness fan for years and never knew this was produced by them, thanks for the info and a great video. love the undertones.....

  • Does anyone know if Langer & Winstanley produced this, sounds a bit more poppy/commercial than usual Madness production

  • GO ON.. GET IN!

  • Can hear Madness in this song.....A rather unique sound they have.

  • Madness, or at least Carl should have done a cameo in this video!

  • Is that Bob Hoskins at the 4.40 mark?

  • @ajhleix Hahaha! No... :)

  • amazing, in fact madness were the backing band on this track, and the backing lyrics of cathal smyth by the looks of it. the video is very much of what madness were like of that time too, when they started the ill fated zarjazz label. though they should have had cameos of madness members in the video, like just in the background..

  • i should of

  • sorry... want to say that it is always a so great pleasure to hear Feargal Sharkey's so special voice - miss him !!!!!

  • ...still

  • 1 of my favourite 500 records from the 80`s, fantastic

  • Awesome song, but the video doesn't make much sense...

What does the guy say at 2:40?

Why is he thrown out at 3:26?

And why are those two arguing at 4:04?

  • A pity we don't see Madness in the video !

  • This is a great song. Glad I found the mp3 for it.

  • I also now have it .

Should have asked Feargal, I'm sure he wouldn't mind sharing it with me :)

  • Its a Madness song that they gave to fergal. Carl Symth wrote it. You can hear him on the backing vocals

  • Has any one got this on CD ? I loved this but only got it on 12" !

  • Comment removed

  • All that cred and then throws it all away with all that naff solo stuff

  • Really excellent Song !! Great !! Thanks !!

  • I think he sounds a bit James Blunt'y

  • dont you mean that James Blunt sounds a bit like Feargal, seeing that feargal cam first!

  • One of many great tracks on "Now that's what i call music 4" from late 1984.

  • Interesting. With all the trumpets and brass it sounds very 80s to me. Pretty cool, it sounds good. The care-free antics in the kitchen are pleasant and the girl is nice-looking.

  • my dad used to sing this 2 me when i woz little, still love it now

  • I agree with others who say this is the best thing he did, such a feel-good song and immaculate production.

    Feargal come back to us!!

  • brilliant

  • That's because it is Madness. They wrote it, played it, sang backing vocals and even appeared on TOTP as his backing band (footage on here somewhere but can't find it, bugger!)

Feargal and Madness go way back. Madness' last single NW5 had a brilliant cover of The Undertones track Bittersweet on it. You should check it out. Brilliant.

  • good song; definitely sounds like madness, yes!

  • nice vid x)

  • what a shame this record is not played more often on the music channels on sky ,a fantastic song from a great era

  • who can indicate what happened to Feargal's right eye ???? very often seems have problems with his eye ???

  • each time a GREAT pleasure to see and hear Feargal Sharkey !!!!!! thanks -we miss him so much (sorry for my bad english)

  • This is really a Madness song, written by carl symth. You can hear Chas smash on the backing vocals.Would love to hear suggs do it.

However Fergal does a fine job.

  • Feargals a great singer but your right Madness make this song awesome

  • Fan-f**king-tastic

  • i so wish i could get this song on cd...bring back the 80s

  • i been looking everywhere on net for weeks to get this on mp3 but unfortunatley no joy! still glad i got the video now though long long time since i heard this, absolute brilliant tune

  • Got it on limewire (try a few times and with a bit of luck..... ) Cheers Conor

  • why madness gave this song away is beyond me,this would have been a massive hit for them, although i have always loved this version, 1984 was a time when they could have done with a big hit

  • Hi,

Why you are sorry to be born in the 90s? You have the music of today + the BEST of the earlyer years!! Isn't that great?

  • in my opinion, his best tune and that includes The Undertones

  • Completely agree! How come we don't hear of Feargal nowadays?!?! Very badly missed!

  • thanks for posting this gem

  • carl was originally going to sing this, but still cracking

  • Written by Madness and the first release on their own 'Jarjazz' label. Cant understand why it didnt do better in the charts as it's great.

  • @thescallywags Very true! a small classic there.

  • Quality tune, Bring back the 80's! Thankyou for posting :D
