I know you have tried tons of TMs and Foundations, but I have the Aveda TM, and it is wonderful! The 00/Sheer is what I use and it looks beautiful. Very light coverage!!!, but that is what I wanted, just to smooth out my skin! It really makes my face airbrushed and flawless... :-))) Have you tried it yet? Just because this LM glowing one did NOT look good on me although I know everyone loves the glow...
I know you have tried tons of TMs and Foundations, but I have the Aveda TM, and it is wonderful! The 00/Sheer is what I use and it looks beautiful. So, I washed my hand 3 times and could still faintly smell that obnoxious smell and when I threw it in the trash, I could still smell it. So, I never tried it on my face, but I LOVED the color, which was Bisque - a pretty shade, not orangey at all. Darn it, I wanted to love it. But, I did order two primers and the moisturizing makeup and satin makeup, to try next. Hopefully, I will like those.
I was just looking for a video of yours, to leave this review..was going to leave it under LM mineral makeup, when I found this! LOL I loved the mineral makeup SO MUCH. It did wonders for my sking, so was anxious to try the tinted moisturizer, being middle aged, drier skin/Rosacea. I put ONE drop on my hand to rub in and could not get past the smell of an ingredient - it was so obnoxious that I could NEVER wear this on my face. I could not get that smell out of my nose for a day..cont.
I was really sad when it didnt work out for me. I saved up for it 'cause I heard so many nice things about how the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer was light and smooth, but I had the same experience, it felt heavy-ish and I could see the oil on my face mid-day of using it. boo~ I wish I saw your review before I let myself get my hopes up. Any suggestions for a replacement? My skin type is fairly oily-ish.
I just tried this out today and at first I really liked it when the SA put it on me - it was light, didn't even look like I had anything on, and the coverage for me was pretty good. But when I got home it was a mess - really oily! I told the lady my skin was oily and she recommended this. I wiped a finger across my face and I could see the it on my finger and it was shiny...no thanks.
@roseann153 Thank you!! I have everything I'm wearing in the sidebar--I try to always do that! It's the Chanel Pro and Vita Lumiere--those work well together--thanks again! :)) Lisa
I'm not a good person to ask--I've never found one that I really like--I like the Chanel foundations--Vita Lumiere is a light one--they also have a tinted moisturizer--I've never tried it--thanks! Lisa
Hi Lisa, just had to let you know that my experience was identical to yours. I was expecting a lighter consistency and coverage - but found the Laura Mercier heavy and drying in all areas but my t-zone. I was soooo glad I'd only purchased a sample size from eBay rather than the ultra expensive full size. Live and learn ! My daughter loves my "mistakes" and accepts them gladly.
I have heard great things about the YSL mascara, will try it eventually! I heard that the L'oreal Voluminous is a good dupe for it but I tried that and didn't like it much :( I don't know if you and I have the same taste in mascara but one of the recent ones I have tried and liked is the Fresh Supernova (the one in the black tube) If you haven't tried it, you could give it a shot... :)
Oh, thanks--I will! The Voluminous didn't work for me--it gave me raccoon eyes! I'll try the Fresh SuperNova--if it doesn't work for me--I'll send it to you!! :)) Lisa
Thank you! I do have on the YSL mascara, which makes my lashes thicker/clumpier--is that a word--clumpier?! :)) I've been using lighter colors lately, you know how we go through stages!! Thanks again! Lisa
Hi Lisa, I tried the illuminating shade recently and I'm not crazy about that one either; just too shimmery. Also when I looked at the ingredients, it was exactly the same as the Olay tinted moisturizer (half the price). You review was very good!
Hey!! What a cool thing to know--Olay Tinted Moisturizer--do you mind if I mention that in a vid? I think everyone would love to know!! Was this the Illuminating one? Thanks so much--I was scared people would be mad at me for not liking it!! :)) Lisa
Mention away! The only difference between the Olay and the LM is the finish. The illuminating by LM is very shiny and the finish of the Olay is matte. I prefer the matte, and spending less money on products that have the same ingredients. Thanks, Karla
I felt exactly the same when I tried it, I really regretted that purchase and swapped it away double-quick. It's really expensive in UK too, so that was annoying. By the way I love your makeup and hair here (oh ok in every video!! But esp here, think its Blitz and Glitz, that's my fave f/l) Xx
Thanks for letting me know about the Juicy Tube!! Will have a look on E Bay. I really appreciate your advice. Thanks again Lisa - wishing a great day enjoy the sunshine :o)
Hey there! It's made by GloTherapeutics & it's called GloBrightening serum--it helps with discoloration & cell turnover--I'm going to do an updated skincare vid soon! I show my new products in my "Skincare Haul" vid--thanks!! Lisa
You look so beautiful in this video, your skin looks just so flawless all the time.
I have been always wondering how this foundation worked, but was not sure that I could handle it as I do not use moisturizer etiher, mostly serums then primer too, and it works for me because I have combination skin. Moisturizers always make me feel like I have too much on my face and they melt off in the heat here, and that... is always not a good thing. ha ha ha.
Thank you, Shelley! I feel partly responsible for not liking it--I didn't even think about it really being a moisturizer!! I like the serums, too! Hugs to you--see you Friday!! :)) Lisa
Thanks Lisa. Great vid as ever. I am sticking to the Chanel Pro-Vita lumiere mix as it works a treat. You look fab as ever, particularly like your lips today. Lisa :)
Hey Lisa! Thank you for this review! I have been waiting for someone to do this! (with my opinions!) And i have to agree 100%! I just have a small size of this and i have been trying so hard to like it!! But im afraid if i have to try that hard it cant be that good! As i do have good skin and this really doesnt show it!! Im going to stick to my chanel Pro-L and Bobbi brown real skin! I much prefer them! Thanks again Lisa! Love laura ;)xx
Hey Laura!! Yay--I'm not the only one! I'm loving these comments--I almost felt guilty doing this review--notice the "rambling"--I felt like I really had to explain myself!! :)) I'm sticking to my old faithfuls, too!! Thanks again!! Lisa
I love your makeup on this video. Looking so fresh and dewey. Hey, if you ran out of Saint Germain lipstick, tell me. It's a permanent line here in Europe.
Great review! Your makeup looks sooop pretty today (as per usual), very fresh and dewey. Just a quick question on a totally random topic, I noticed in a couple of videos you mentioned that you wear contacts. With the YSL Faux Cils do you notice it flaking off and irritating? I have heard some awesome things about the YSL, but some people say that the nylon fibres in it can be very irritating for contact wearers.
Thank you--thank you!! :) I really like the Faux Cils, but it is heavy! I just recently started wearing it again, and I HAVE to wear the Lancome lash primer underneath--it helps it a lot--before it was flaking and giving me racoon eyes! It is so pretty, though--nothing gives that flase lash look like this does!! I haven't noticed it bothering my eyes/contacts--I think it's worth a shot!! Let me know!! :)) Lisa
Hey Lisa, thanks for the review on this product, sorry it didnt work for you. I am currently using Dermalogica - sheer tint moisture in medium and I apply it with a brush and have been happy with the finish on my skin. Its not too heavy. Maybe you or some of your subscribers might like to try it. By the way your hair and makeup looks fabulous! Also I ordered the Lancombe Rose Defile lipstick this morning on Ebay - will keep you posted. Have a lovely day and thanks for sharing :o)
Thank you!! I'm so glad you got the Rose Defile--you'll love it!! Dermalogica has great products--I'm sure I'd like it better!! Thanks, talk soon! Lisa
I wanted to tell you that I saw the Juicy Tube I'm wearing with the Rose Defile on Ebay for 7.99--free shipping--it's called Tickled Pink--it "makes" it!! :))
Thanks so much for this review. I got a sample at Nordstrom's of the LMTM oil free, but I felt it was too moisturizing as well, and I'm more normal to oily skin, so I think I would have the same issues as you did. I'll stick to my foundation. I also use the MAC prep and prime and love it as well!
Hey Cindy! I wish I could have gotton a sample--but I'm going to swap it with Lu in the UK for some more goodies--I just had to see what they hype was about!! The Mac P&P is a wonderful product--it helps so much!! Thanks!! Lisa
That Prep&Prime is so creamy, I can see why you don't feel like you need a regular moisturizer. I like the LMTM, but I am used to using a moisturizer so it works for me. I'm not oily, butI think I like it better when it's not 105 degrees outside. Hopefully you can return it since it's not cheap.
Hey Heidi!! I don't know why I even strayed from my Chanel--I just HAD to know!! I'm swapping it for some surprise goodies from Lu!! I love a good swap! :)) Lisa
Hey girlie!! I really like Smashbox, I think I forget about it a lot---I'll check it out at Ulta today!! Thanks, your makeup always look gorgeous!! :)) Lisa
Hey Girl! You should definitely check it out :) It looks gorgeous and dewy over a light primer. It even looks nice set with the Halo powder. I'm def. a fan :) Thank you! You are always glowing! I can only pray that I look as good as you do when I'm your age :) See ya soon xo
Lisa i know exactly what you are feeling,,i tried a what the urban decay rep told me,, he said he used a tinted moisture on his clients and YUK.and i am normal to dry. i felt like it was a hot mask..hot in a bad way ! every so often they come out with a "new necessary product".. mer marketing i think. hugs Shelly
I agree, Shelly! I think they market these for people who don't want to wear a "foundation"--even though it's much heavier!! Thanks for the back up!! :)) Lisa
Hi Lisa. I really like this tinted moisturizer but not for summer. it works quite well for me in the cooler months especially winter months when i don't perspire at all. but for summer it's a bit too heavy as you said. keep the great videos coming. i really look foward to seeing them after i get home from work. :-D
I was looking for a good tinted moisturizer for the summertime, and this one looked awful on me. I have a medium skin tone with yellow undertones, and the laura mercier ones ONLY came in pink undertones. I tried several different shades, and they all turned a weird orange-y color on my skin. It's strange, it seems like a fairly large oversight to neglect many women of color and others with cooler undertones. Anyway, I opted for benefit YouRebel in the end. :)
Hey! I've heard only good things about the Benefit YouRebel--I hope you enjoy it! I know what you mean about tones--I can't wear the pinky ones either--I'm really beigey. Oh, the things we girls go through to look pretty!! :)) Thanks! Lisa
I'm sorry--I forgot to put it, it's there now! It's Lancome Rose Defile with Mac Soar lip liner and Lancome Tickled Pink Juicy Tube--it's a great neutral pink! Thanks!! Lisa
omg lisa, wat have you done to your skin, its looks amazing!!! honestly u look radiant and flawless wow, did u do anything different from your new foundation routiine video, cos i just av 2 know your secret!!! lol
Thank you!! I just put what I was wearing in the info box--sorry! It's the Vita & Pro Lumiere and the Mac MSF Nat/Shimmer split--it's awesome in the summer!! I need to do a new face routine!! :)) Thanks again! Lisa
omg @ melty feeling! I don't like anything too heavy but I do have dry-ish skin. I bought a regular laura mercier foundation last year and thought it was just way too oil slick feeling but I don't believe it was oil free either.
Would you do a review on the even better? Be as honest as you want about its pros and cons! Just because I love it doesn't mean you do and I'd love to hear your opinion!
Oh, Gina--I took the Clinique Even Better back!! That's a review in itself!! :)) I just thought it was OK--I never opened the actual bottle, I just used the sample, so I took it back. NOTHING beats the Pro & Vita Lumiere--thanks, girl!! :) Lisa
i have dry skin and it was still melty and transferred way too much for my taste :( really sad because so many people rave about this product, i thought i'd love it.
I agree with the other person, you look so gorgeous! :) Laura Mercier's tinted moisturizer is nice but it really takes some getting used to... It isn't for me, either. I'm so used to having a product set on my skin but it just... stays there? Does that make any sense? Haha!
Thank you! I looked all over the tube, & it doesn't say it exactly--it just says "Discontinue use if signs of rash or irritation appear"--it didn't bother my skin at all--I just thought it was too heavy! Thanks again! Lisa
She's very Farah Faucette meets steel magnolias..lol...even though no one in New Orleans talks this way..but the characters did :)

Thanks for your honest opinion on this one Lisa. I recently got Bobbi Brown's tinted moisturizing balm love it!

Thanks, Lynne--I really wanted to like it, it's my fault--I should've thought it through a little more!! Bobbi Brown does everything good! :)) Lisa

Hey Deana! Stick with the Chanel!! This is probably cost just as much!! The Chanel looks good on you! Thanks! Lisa

I agree with the other person, you look so gorgeous! :) Laura Mercier's tinted moisturizer is nice but it really takes some getting used to... It isn't for me, either. I'm so used to having a product set on my skin but it just... stays there? Does that make any sense? Haha!

Thank you!! I know so many others love it, I hesitated to even do this review--but it's just not for me!! It felt like it never would "dry"! :)) Lisa

I feel the same way about this! I got it and it was ok,but I feel like it melts of my face. I feel like it feels heavier than a foundation!!
trishia5 2 years ago
EXACTLY!! It felt much heavier than my other foundations! Thanks--that makes me feel better!! :)) Lisa

You look stunning in this video! Do you know if it's hypo-allergenic?
1shopoholic1 2 years ago
Thank you! I looked all over the tube, & it doesn't say it exactly--it just says "Discontinue use if signs of rash or irritation appear"--it didn't bother my skin at all--I just thought it was too heavy! Thanks again! Lisa
