Yes, you are right. Fox News just did a story on how solar panels contain cancer causing material and that CFL bulbs contain very dangerous levels of mercury and also cause cancer and blindness. It is true that CFL bulbs contain mercury but it is not at near the levels that Fox News claims at 5 grams. CFL bulbs are at 5 milligrams. A thermostat and a thermometer have much higher levels of mercury than 5 milligrams.

I would regard Genesis to be more allegory than anything. This has become a popular conclusion from Biblical scholars (you know, people who actually study the Bible) since the 18th century. And just because the Bible may or may not be wrong on one issue doesn't necessarily mean it's wrong on all others.

I hardly watch FOX news because of its rabid propaganda. Their point of view is so skewed, passionately illogical, hypocritical, significantly, though admittedly not always, untrue and plain nuts that it can't be trusted in any sense of the word. The fact that it does have a point of view means it isn't news any more either, just an opinion. The fact many of its arguments come via editing, misrepresentation, extravagant exaggerations, and just downright lies destroy its credibility.
