These aren't 'graves' they are digging up, these bodies are in an old trench. They fell there and the trench was obviously filled in after they were killed in combat. Digging them up and giving these guys a proper burial and a marker is not disrespectful, it is absolutely the opposite.
Much respect to the Russian people in the Great Patriot War. Some of us westerners actually know who really beat the majority of the Nazi war machine.
soviets freed the people from serfdom and transformed the soviet state into a powerful nation which was widely respected , by many people including the Brits + yanks , After they rescued Europe from the Nazis This terrified the exploiters in the capitalist countries and a curtain of propaganda came down, Beginning with the purging of intelligentsia by McCarthy and co .Once removed the sheep were easily controlled..The same clique still control today. But times .They are a changing.
dispute between countries has been around since the dawn of humanity. they fought for what's right and justed the unjusted. often time they fought to liberate other time they fought for national pride. the red army and the nazi are equally brutal adversaries. soldiers are honorable but murderers are not! you have got to diffirentiate the 2.
It's hard to decide weather or not to leave the fallen soldiers where they rest, or return the remains to family's or a nation war cemetery with other fallen comrades. But the families need to know where they fought and died, and weather they want the remains left or relocated.
@jmbacon01 I don't agree. Many soldiers died and their remains were never accounted for. The families deserve to know where their relatives died and to have a place to go to honor them.
@astranine I agree with you, but on the other point not... Like when the battle just has ended they just should take the time to sort the body and give the body back to their family... But, on the other side i think you also shouldn't dig these bodys up anymore. If the rests of a body are found you also cannot identify it anymore and probably a big part of the family will be gone or out of contact... Just Handle the bodys with cre and respect, i would say :P
@Trackside1234 THey don't take them home with them. This is an organized expefition to recover fallen soldiers from ww2 and then give them propper burials.
@KAMdobr: Well done, very well done of those russian guys. There's no discussion necessary about that.
Greetings to you and them from Berlin.

@KAMdobr I'm great that the two evil empires of the world, the Communists and the Nazis were busy killing each other.
The Communists however killed more innocents during their time than even the evil ass Nazis.

Someone explain what is being gained by digging up a mass grave and then apparently taking the skulls home with them.
