phohm phuut thai nit naawy Great set of instructional videos here John. I watched all of them. I learned to speak Thai from spending my last four summers over there. I just got back from 2 months in Hua Hin. I am still learning however. I am still having difficulty pronouncing words with like neeuy (butter). This summer I was ordering a girls name Noy versus neeuy at a food stand. LOL! This tone is as hard for us westerners as the r sound is for Thais. chohk dee khrap on your trip to the LOS
japanese and mandarin are going to be the courses i'm going to be concentrating on when i'm in thailand. i'll have 3 months to do whatever, other than perfecting my thai. arabic is something i would like to dive into as well. i finished the michel thomas arabic course and i rather enjoyed it. although i'm technically a polyglot, since i can function in 5 languages, i'm still a beginner. i've barely scratched the surface. i'll have much better thai lessons w/ thai script starting in a few months.
He met her in China while studying Chinese. They married last year, and I may have some of his family visiting in a few months. I may need to get back to studying.

I like the accent marks better, but I guess thats just me, lol. I probably prefer it because I am studying Chinese and am used to the pinyin system.

Thanks for sharing. My son married a Thai, and so my wife and I are taking Thai lessons. This is a nice adjunct. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
