I remember taking this route. I sorta remember a toll booth being somewhere around there. I know it was this route because i remember the huge Towers.

on all the trips i made up and down 75 between atl/dtw (probably 15-20) i never once passed through knox during daylight hours. (i'd go out of the way and take 640 thru so i could see the city usually)

I think they wanted to divert I-75 through traffic away from downtown.
