@SuperXboxrules Definitely, in 1991 and 1993 and however more if he wanted to. He had a great relationship with EON and the Boccolis. But Dalton was always a maverick about his career and moved on and has no regrets.
Best tribute of timothy dalton as bond, i love licence to kill and the livning daylights, best 2 two i have seen and grew up with. most of all the music is badass, something i can never forget and hope to show my kids someday.
Timothy Dalton and Daniel Craig are my favorite Bond actors. Timothy a little more though. I hear they're both very similar, just like Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan share similarities.
I dont understand how some people can Like Dalton and dislike Craig at the same time & Vice-Versa. Dalton & Craig are like in the same package, in my book.
wrong92626 - Your cursing people out shows how immature you are at 17 years old, easy to do from behind a computer screen. Not to mention you're grammatically challenged so you must be a school dropout. Or, you're in serious need of psychiatric help!
"Dalton was so great, now we see the end of the smart and sophisticated secret agent,"
The above statement is so very true. I am glad i am not the only one who likes him as Bond. In fact Timothy Dalton is such as great actor, with true class.
Dear right92626, you stated... "Daniel Craig has LOWERED the bar for 007...an ugly ass, short actor plus no charisma" WHAT??? I do love Dalton most and Connery 2nd, but Daniel Craig represents is just as classy and HOT,HOT,HOT!!! You need glasses!
I preferred Licence To Kill over The Living Daylights, but enjoyed both, while Licence To Kill is my second favorite Bond movie behind Casino Royale and Dalton would be classified as the best Bond in my books. He may not look like james Bond, but he acts like it more than anyone else. That's all that counts.
@laksa72 Moore was also just plain boring and too soft spoken. He is way over-rated as Bond. Dalton was great and seeing him in Licence to Kill really made the mark that Bond was his own. I mean, imagine it starring Moore, Brosnan or even Connery? It just wouldn't have worked without Dalton.
Timothy Dalton was 20 years ahead of his time in his portrayal of James Bond...I love his Bond Movies and I only wish there had been more of them. I love him in anything...he has such a commanding presence.
dalton was head and shoulders above brosnan as bond.superior actor and brought back the steel in the character which connery had. In fact , everybody raves about craigs hard nosed bond !......they had it 20yrs ago in dalton ! the looks , the quips ( timing that is ) , they deliberately underplayed daltons image as they couldnt wait to get brosnan from his remington steele contract ?
Tim Dalton is and always will be not just the best Bond but a great actor in everything he does. *watch Hawks then comment on his acting* I agree with eddiejl, Brosnan was a waiter as Bond at least Craig is better...But not in Daltons class. Great actor. m.
Dalton was ideal as Bond. He was criminally underused, and remains shamefully unappreciated. With all due respect to Mr. Connery -- and MUCH respect is due -- I think Dalton was better in the role; he'd matured as an actor by the time he took it (it had been offered to him 20 years earlier), and he had the advantage of looking almost exactly like Bond as Fleming described him. And, like Craig, Dalton seemed ready at any time to snap and kill everybody in the room.
2 people work for Franz Sanches.

Fleming's Bond. Bar none. Excellent tribute. Dalton IS the Bond that defines the role.

After the legendary Sean Connery, Timothy Dalton is the BEST 007.

dalton is simallar to craig. but at least dalton had charisma and sauveness. and he was charming . craig has none of that. IMO

Timothy was the best Bond - he played the role in the way Ian Fleming wrote about. He as dark and gritty and less humor which I preferred.
Dalton is one superb character actor.

best bond in my book , his 2 movies were sensational , they were before their time , if they were out now they would be raking it in
cjfrfc 2 years ago 4
watched them a couple of months ago and was amazed how good they actually are
way better than any of the 4 Brosnan Bond's
Dalton should have made more Bonds, but it wasn't his fault at all the Bond genre was seen as dead in the late 80's

Sean Connery, Roger Moore, and Timothy Dalton were/are James Bond....
Daniel Craig has LOWERED the bar for 007...an ugly ass, short actor plus no charisma
Craig copies Dalton's style and the dummy movie goers don't know the history of James Bond films.
Sure Craig and the films made big bucks for franchise because there are crappy shit films in 2008 so no competition...
What's the difference between Jason Bourne and Daniel Craig's James Bond? None

blame the movie going audience in the states in the late 80's, because over there both Dalton's movies flopped
had Dalton's films been hits then no doubt we'd see him in 2-3 more Bond movie until the mid 90's

you'd be surprised how many Timothy Dalton fans there are....he is James Bond.
Connery was great...but Scottish.
Moore was great but got campy.
Brosnan...just a bad actor and a girly Bond.
Craig copied Dalton and he is getting praised for it.
1Athiestbitch 3 years ago 9
Dalton was the best 007, I'm actually v.surprised to see this many people who feel the same. I can't believe how underated he was as Bond.
I also think 'The Living Daylights' (1987) was the best film.
davetherave28 3 years ago 13
you have to see our dumbed down society follows that "everything that is present "
attitude is the BEST whether it is with movie stars, sports celebrities, culture..etc.
Most Craig fans have never seen Connery, Moore, and Dalton play Bond...call them drones
1Athiestbitch 3 years ago 2
well the last part is also true when it comes to Brosnan fans
since there was a 6 year gap, a whole generation saw Goldeneye as their first Bond and therefore saw Brosnan as the only Bond
Goldeneye wasn't that impressive for those that had seen Bond movies before, especially since it re-used a lot of old ideas from previous Bonds
Dalton was way better as Bond that Brosnan.

@eddiejl dalton had two problems, one he only starrred in two movies, two those movies flopped.
